If there's one thing we enjoy as much as playing games, it's collecting various odds and ends that reflect our passion for the hobby. Whether it's a <a href="http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2005/12/working_designs_19862005.php"><em>Lunar</em> Ghaleon puppet</a> on the mantel or the <a href="https://www.first4figures.com/component/option,com_myphp/Itemid,3/product,44/">Varia Suit statue</a> on the coffee table, there is never any question where our loyalties lie. Now UDON Entertainment has added another collectible to our radar in the form of a <a href="http://www.udonentertainment.com/streetfightertribute/">limited edition art book</a> dedicated to the numerous brawlers who have thrown down in Capcom's storied <em>Street Fighter</em> franchise. The hardcover will feature the artistic styling of such artists as Penny Arcade's Gabe and pin-up style comic cover artist Adam Hughes, among <a href="http://udoncrew.deviantart.com/journal/18187315/">several others</a>. The book is available for pre-order now, with orders placed today dropping you in the running for Capcom's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/20/uh-ohkami-capcom-botches-okami-wii-box-art-inadvertently-adver/">IGN-branded</a> <em>Okami </em>for the Wii. At $80, the book isn't cheap, but really, when it comes to the things we adore, <em>what price can do love justice</em>?<br /><br />And while we have <em>Street Fighter</em> on the brain, we'd be remiss not to mention <a href="http://blog.capcom.com/archives/1208">an interesting blog post</a> over at Camp Capcom, as the company is apparently entertaining the idea of creating a collection of figurines based on the upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/streetfighter4"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a>, and as such are looking for input on which characters deserve to make the cut. So, of the faces we know, both old and new, who would we most like to see make the leap from polygons to plastic? E. Honda? Vega? <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/13/meet-the-new-street-fighter-el-fuerte/">El Fuerte</a>? Hit up the poll on Capcom's blog and let your voice, albeit anonymously, be heard.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-tribute-art-book/">Street Fighter Tribute Art Book</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-tribute-art-book/#807442"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/huangjiawei_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-tribute-art-book/#807441"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/markbrooks-christinastrain_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/15/collectibles-cast-street-fighter-in-plastic-ink/">Collectibles cast Street Fighter in plastic, ink</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 May 2008 08:45:00 EST. While Capcom's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/streetfighteriv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a> wowed us in February with its new fangled graphics and animation, it was the game's decidedly retro feel <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/22/gdc08-hands-on-with-street-fighter-iv/">that grabbed us by the neck</a> and assaulted our head like a barrage of Yoga Noogies. As it turned out, for all its 3D charm the fighter played like a sexed up <em>Street Fighter II</em>, which to be fair is just fine by us.<br /><br />Now Capcom has released screenshots of <em>Street Fighter II</em>'s bad guy quartet, Balrog, Bison, Sagat and Vega, all of whom make a return in the upcoming sequel. We can hardly wait to face down Vega's (or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M._Bison">M. Bison</a> for those of you with a name hang up) ever-annoying Psycho Crusher, something judging by the above pic has Ryu equally enthused.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/">Street Fighter IV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337097"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/guile_006-252009-37_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337096"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/dan_004-252009-26_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337095"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/cviper_001-252009-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337094"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/balrog_005-252009-49_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337093"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/seth_004-252009-8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/01/new-street-fighter-iv-screens-punch-out-classic-bosses/">New Street Fighter IV screens punch out classic bosses</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 May 2008 20:28:00 EST. The webisode series <em>Street Fighter: The Later Years</em> has been going on for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/05/street-fighters-mop-and-drive-taxis-in-the-later-years/">quite some time</a>, but the <a href="http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1790841">latest entry</a> proves that the show's creators still have a knack for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/streetfighter"><em>Street Fighter</em></a> parody.<br /><br />Whether it's Dhalsim's unorthodox fighting methods, a poorly-aged Ken failing to perform his hidden fireball move, or Chun Li and Blanka caught in a... compromising position, <a href="http://www.collegehumor.com/tag:street-fighter-the-later-years"><em>The Later Years</em></a> still makes us laugh, even if we'll all be geezers by the time the series reaches its eventual conclusion.<br /><br />Check out episode six after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/27/todays-most-geriatric-video-yoga-noogie/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Today's most geriatric video: 'Yoga noogie!'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/27/todays-most-geriatric-video-yoga-noogie/">Today's most geriatric video: 'Yoga noogie!'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Nov 2007 01:01:00 EST. No, you probably haven't. Don't feel bad, neither had we. But once we saw <a href="http://blog.capcom.com/archives/544">this interesting look</a> at how Capcom is cleaning up movements for their <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Super%20Street%20Fighter%20II%20HD%20Remix">Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</a></em>, we felt like we gained a new appreciation for the intricacies of animation.<br /><br />Take, for example, the fact that some characters in <em>Super Street Fighter II</em> had motion blur while characters from <em>Street Fighter</em> <em>II</em> didn't? Isn't that fascinating? Hello? ... OK, so we admit this sort of "inside the sausage factory" stuff isn't for every one. But if you're a fan of the series, you'll want to take a look.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/07/go-behind-the-scenes-of-street-fighter-animations/">Go behind the scenes of Street Fighter animations</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Nov 2007 13:58:00 EST. <div align="left">The folks at <a href="http://www.gamesniped.com/">GameSniped</a> are quite adept at finding weird and awesome game stuff on eBay, but in a recent post they demonstrated their expertise at finding <em>new</em> items as well. Like these <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/25/vc-monday-madness-f-zero-x-and-street-fighter/"><em>Street Fighter</em></a> character costumes.<br /><br />They're all as accurate as can be, but, like all game character designs, they just look <em>weird</em> on real people. And we remember Akuma being a lot scarier and not displaying quite so much swagger. But then, the <em>guy</em> doesn't come with the costume. <br /><br />You're out of luck if you want to be Ryu, unless <em>you can find a torn martial arts uniform anywhere else</em>, but the rest are in stock and on sale. But who would want to be Ryu when you can be one of the more interesting Shotokan practitioners? Recently posted on The Etch-A-Sketchist, a site dedicated to art created on our favorite drawing canvas of frustration: a detailed rendering of a <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/15/microsoft-teases-street-fighter-ii-hopefuls/">Street Fighter II</a></em> battle between Ryu and Sagat. Even more astounding is the artist created the scene on a travel Etch-A-Sketch which is approximately the size of a bacterium. Today's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/virtualconsolemonday">Virtual Console</a> releases, <a href="http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=12551">scheduled</a> to go live at 9AM PST, are all about pushing the pedal to the metal in our quest to satisfy the need for speed and finally outrun the terrible writing clich&eacute;s and racing game references pursuing us. Europe's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/f-zero-x-is-euro-virtual-consoles-100th-game/" style="">100th Virtual Console game</a>, <em>F-Zero X</em>, has you hurtling about futuristic tracks at absurd speeds, <em>Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting</em> has you <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/23/chun-li-cries-the-pain-of-loss-away/">hurting Chun Li</a> even quicker than before and <em>China Warrior</em> has... uh... released much faster than we expected! Yeah, let's go with that.<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>F-Zero X</em> (N64, 1-4 players, 1000 Wii Points): The N64's hover-car racer pushed the series forward in the best way that was possible at the time -- it added a prominent "X" to the title. It wasn't until later that we learned that adding a "GX" was the ultimate masterstroke.</li>
    <li><em>Street Fighter II Turbo Edition: Hyper Fighting</em> (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): With mention of both the words "Turbo" and "Hyper" in the title, it becomes clear that this game is indeed a bit faster than <em>The</em> <em>World Warriors</em>. Enjoy it before those fancy <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/01/kens-looking-good-for-new-hd-street-fighter-ii/">HD characters</a> start punching your eyeballs.</li>
    <li><em>China Warrior </em>(TurboGrafx-16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): A side-scrolling action game depicting either gaming's most fragile hero ever, or just some tough guy in China. </li>

In light of the particularly <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=25304105&amp;sid=6164175">bogus</a> rumors floating concerning Microsoft buying out Capcom, lets take a look at some of the more substantiated rumors involving your favorite <em>Mega Man</em> sweatshop.<br />
<br />
For your consideration, three rumors from the February issue of <span style="font-style: italic;">Electronic Gaming Monthly</span> (#112). For those who still believe in the aforementioned rumor, you may as well tear down those tin foil barriers around your room as Capcom "looks to be making several interesting games for the PS3's (network) service." The two titles mentioned being a remake of <em>Street Fighter II </em>with brand new sprites and an "updated NES classic."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/16/capcom-rumor-round-up-sfii-on-ps3-dead-rising-2-on-360/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom Rumor Round-Up: SFII on PS3, Dead Rising 2 on 360</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/16/capcom-rumor-round-up-sfii-on-ps3-dead-rising-2-on-360/">Capcom Rumor Round-Up: SFII on PS3, Dead Rising 2 on 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Jan 2007 13:20:00 EST. The list reads thusly:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Aug. 16: <em>Texas Hold 'em</em></li>
    <li> Aug. 23: <em>Time Pilot</em></li>
    <li> Aug. 30: <em>Scramble</em></li>
    <li> Sept 6: <em>Lumines Live!</em></li>
</ul>
Hmm...two (arguably) obscure retro arcade titles sandwiched by <em>Texas Hold 'em</em> and <em>Lumines Live! </em>Not bad at all. While few will doubt the appeal of card games or the wonderfully addictive <em>Lumines</em>, one must wonder how well <em>Time Pilot</em> and <em>Scramble</em> will do. Any fans of these retro classics out there?<br /><br />Bonus points for anyone that can point out the connection between Konami's <em>Time Pilot</em> and Capcom's XBLA smash hit, <em>Street Fighter II</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/07/xbla-wednesdays-looks-to-keep-rolling-konami-leading-the-char/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/08/more-xbla-lovin-time-pilot-lumines/">More XBLA lovin', Time Pilot, Lumines!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Aug 2006 10:30:00 EST. See Bj&ouml;rk reprise her role in the video, embedded after the break.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">See also:</span><span id="ppt594011"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></span><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/02/24/street-fighter-2-skit-no-fireballs/">Street Fighter 2 skit; no fireballs!</a></span><span id="ppt572938"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></span><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2005/12/20/ryu-vs-scorpion-flash-movie%25u2026wow/">Ryu vs. Scorpion flash movie...wow</a></span><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://waxy.org/links/">Waxy</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/06/bjork-vs-reporter-round-one-fight/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bjork vs. Reporter. Add a couple more classics like <em>TMNT</em> and <em>X-Men</em>, as well as new games like <em>Geometry
Wars</em> and you have yourself a pretty attractive package.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/01/05/ces-street-fighter-2-coming-to-live-arcade-by-march/">CES: Street Fighter 2 coming to Live Arcade by March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Jan 2006 12:00:00 EST.
