When we play our DS in public, we occasionally like to pretend it's a PDA, just so we look like grown-ups. To complete the illusion, we'll often say things like "Ugh, I have so many business appointments in my PDA," or "Ugh, why can't I find Johnson's phone number in my PDA?"<br /><br />While we love <a href="http://www.shapeways.com/gallery?url=%2Fgallery&amp;uri=%2Fudesign%2Fgallery%2Fgallery&amp;search=stylus&amp;category">these custom game-themed styli</a> like a <em>Trauma Center </em>scalpel or Link's Master Sword, if there's a quicker way to tip people off that you're not sending a business email, we haven't seen it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/17/custom-ds-styli-will-blow-your-cover/">Custom DS styli will blow your cover</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Apr 2009 17:00:00 EST. We're often <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/28/sword-stylus-comes-with-ninja-gaiden-preorder/">wooed by</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/another-way-to-get-dragon-quest-into-your-ds/">game-themed</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/01/limited-edition-orcs-and-elves-stylus-cant-cast-real-spells/">styli</a>, but never has the Force been with a touchpen so much as with these mini Lightsabers. Releasing on July 31st, these official Nintendo and Lucas Arts styli are sure to sell like hotcakes (we can think of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/19/star-wars-the-clone-wars-ds-is-not-a-wii-clone/">at least one game</a> they'll go well with). Yet if you plan to buy them, you'll have a tough choice to make -- should you get the three small replicas for $7.99, or the two slightly bigger light-up sabers for $16.99? Choices, choices.<br /><br />So far we've only seen these beauties available on Amazon through seller BD&amp;A, but we're sure they'll hit other retailers as time passes. If you're too cheap to make the purchase, though, be sure to check out our guide for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/12/cheap-stylus-gifts-that-arent-really-styli/">stylus alternatives</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://www.theirisnetwork.org/">Kimiko</a>!]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Star-Light-Lightsaber-Stylus/dp/B00196XE34/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_text_b">Source</a>: Nintendo DS Star Wars Light Up Lightsaber Stylus 2 Pack<br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Star-Wars-Lightsaber-Stylus/dp/B00196VCLU/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_text_b">Source</a>: Nintendo DS Star Wars Lightsaber Stylus 3 Pack<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/02/poke-the-force-with-lightsaber-styli/">Poke the Force with Lightsaber styli</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Jul 2008 12:30:00 EST. Well, we're not going in for that this year. Our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/anti-guide/">gift guide</a> will help you find the best gifts in categories the other sites won't cover -- because we just made them up.</em><br /><br />My secret addiction -- the one that has me wearing only long-sleeved shirts and brushing my teeth before coming home, all to hide its telling signs -- is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/stylus">stylus</a> collecting. I can't get enough of these pen-shaped bits of plastic; I'm <span style="font-style: italic;">cuckoo</span> for them, you could say. Every time I make a Play Asia purchase or collect a preorder bonus, I feel like I've lost another part of me, another <span style="font-style: italic;">vital fragment</span> I'll never have again. I don't know what it feels like to be alive anymore.<br /><br />I've long moved on from conventional styli, using anything I can get my anxious, shaking hands on, the crazier <span style="font-style: italic;">the better</span>. How else do you think I managed to put together this gift guide for alternative styli? <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/26/ds-fanboy-review-thylus/">Thumb styli</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/09/ds-daily-regular-or-extendable/">extendable styli</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/animal-crossing-styli-to-help-tom-nook-pay-for-his-hot-tub/">styli with colorful mascots on them</a> -- you name it, I've tried every single one of them, and they don't do a damn thing for me anymore. Forget about those nonsense accessories and read on for my NSFW roundup of styli presents that will <span style="font-style: italic;">change your life</span> ... for the worse. Hey, a thing with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/AnimalCrossing/">Animal Crossing</a></em> characters on it! Must buy! Seriously, Nintendo did a bad thing by making a game full of <em>super-adorable</em> characters and then designing it such that players are <em>required </em>to interact with these characters on a daily schedule. Then, when you see <a href="http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.animalxing.com/images/ecards/210.jpg&amp;imgrefurl=http://www.animalxing.com/ereader.php%3Fseries%3D4&amp;h=201&amp;w=144&amp;sz=12&amp;hl=en&amp;start=1&amp;um=1&amp;tbnid=omYrvTC8NUaPIM:&amp;tbnh=104&amp;tbnw=75&amp;prev=/images%3Fq%3Danimal%2Bcrossing%2Btutu%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official">Tutu</a> or whoever on a toy, you feel more compelled to buy it because you've formed somewhat of a relationship.<br /><br />We recognize this manipulation, but it still works. We may have to buy that Snowman stylus. <br />Frustrated with the DS Lite's stubby <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/stylus">stylus</a>, but not enough to empty out your pockets for one of those new-fangled, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/02/the-bling-you-just-cant-live-without/">overpriced</a> utensils we're always featuring? <br /><br />Faced with that very dilemma, Sal Cangeloso decided to save himself a few bucks with a homemade solution, trimming the stock stylus and packing it with a bit of rubber into his <a href="javascript:void(0);/*1182907198200*/">pen's</a> emptied casing (Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto). Though it isn't a new idea at all, we were impressed with Sal's handiwork and wanted to share the small project with our readers. It looks better than most of the high-end styli <em>we've</em> seen for sale!<br /><br />[Thanks, Kris!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/27/diy-ds-lite-stylus-pen/">DIY DS Lite stylus pen</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Jun 2007 12:20:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/preorder">preorder</a> perk also comes with a plastic holder that clips the oversized pen to you DS Lite. <br /><br />Though it makes for a great novelty item to enjoy with your game, the scythe also serves as a grim reminder that death is always close. Try as we might to avoid it, our end is always waiting, ready to steal our life's work -- or waste in some cases -- like a thief in the night. It doesn't seem like much of a bonus when you think about it like that, does it?<br /><br /><em>Death Jr. and the Science Fair of Doom</em> won't appear on store shelves until May 22nd, but some online shops are already sending the preorder styli out. Head past the post break for CAG forumer Asgardian's photos of the Death Jr. stylus he received early. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://cheapassgamer.com/">CAG</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/27/death-jr-and-the-preorder-stylus-of-doom/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Death Jr. and the preorder stylus of doom</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/27/death-jr-and-the-preorder-stylus-of-doom/">Death Jr. and the preorder stylus of doom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Apr 2007 15:00:00 EST. <br />
Users drop a standard stylus into the Touch Pen Attachment's casing just like with an ink refill. Including two replaceable styli with every purchase seems a bit unnecessary, but we're not going to argue with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/free">free</a> stuff. The pen's wider and taller body will be able to rest on your hand, and the rubber grip makes sure that the stick won't slip out of your fingers during a hectic game of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/elitebeatagents/"><em>Elite Beat Agents</em></a>.<br />
<br />
The Touch Pen Attachment is as portable as any other writing utensil, but you can also latch it onto the back of your handheld with the two plastic bumps on the clip. From the product shots we've seen, the nubs fit right into the holes meant for the DS Lite's strap.<br />
<br />
The pens come in White, Black, and Pink, retailing for about $6.00 each. Head past the post break for more photos of the Touch Pen Attachment DS Lite.<br />
