Specifically, Escobedo owns <a href="http://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?Search_Arg=VAu001094747&amp;Search_Code=REGS&amp;PID=eA9kq-VuLIxWkMrD9JWXFUJwtQP&amp;SEQ=20121117172032&amp;CNT=25&amp;HIST=1">the copyright</a> to a tattoo present on the virtual version of MMA fighter Carlos Condit in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ufc-undisputed-2010"><em>UFC Undisputed 2010</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ufc-undisputed-3"><em>UFC Undisputed 3</em></a>.<br /><br />Escobedo's argument hinges on the idea that, despite being permanently affixed to a public figure, the tattoo's design still belongs to him, as he created it originally and never signed the rights to the design away to Condit. By digitally recreating that design without permission, THQ may have violated Escobedo's copyright on the work. The lawsuit also claims that THQ's usage of Condit's likeness on its website violates Escobedo's copyright as well.<br /><br />The lawsuit seeks compensation for "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actual_damages">actual damages</a>" caused by THQ's usage of the artwork, as well as "an order directing THQ to account to Mr. Escobedo for all gains, profits and advantages derived by them by their wrongful conduct, and to disgorge all profits obtained by their wrongful conduct." <em>Gross</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/17/tattoo-artist-sues-thq-over-use-of-original-ink-in-ufc-undispute/">Tattoo artist sues THQ over use of original ink in UFC Undisputed 2010, UFC Undisputed 3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 17 Nov 2012 18:00:00 EST. We've seen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/seen-at-gdc-homefront-free-lunch/">food trucks</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/16/seen-tgs-shoe-da-51/">crazy shoes</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/seen-gamescom-the-battlefield-3-mig-21/">full-on jets</a>, but we've yet to see a live tattoo application, not to mention one based on a video game.<br /><br />Enter: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/far-cry-3"><em>Far Cry 3</em></a>.<br /><br />Ubisoft hired a local tattoo artist to pre-screen attendees for the tattoo you see being applied just above. Rather than a <em>Far Cry 3</em> logo, tattooees (<em>not</em> tattooines) are getting a tribal tattoo ripped from the game. Maybe a game logo should have been the way to go -- to help you remember when you explain this art's origin by the time you're 80.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-tattoo-booth-pax-east-2012/">Far Cry 3 tattoo booth (PAX East 2012)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-tattoo-booth-pax-east-2012/#4948321"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/img3785_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-tattoo-booth-pax-east-2012/#4948328"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/img3791_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-tattoo-booth-pax-east-2012/#4948343"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/img3792_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-tattoo-booth-pax-east-2012/#4948349"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/img3793_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-tattoo-booth-pax-east-2012/#4948351"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/img3794_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/06/seen-pax-east-get-your-far-cry-3-themed-tattoo-right-here-righ/">Seen@PAX East: Get your Far Cry 3 themed tattoo right here, right now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Apr 2012 19:45:00 EST. Firearms may have been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/reminder-last-chance-to-buy-xbox-avatar-firearm-props/">too suggestive</a> a topic for the Xbox Live Marketplace to broach, but apparently body modification is an A-OK, family friendly activity for everyone to enjoy. Xbox Live customers now have the opportunity to trade real money for virtual tattoos on fake people via the Marketplace. Available designs encompass the whole of "regrettable," from hot-rod flames and meaningless "tribal" scribbles to idealistic kanji symbols for "peace" and "love."<br />
<br />
We should point out that the tattoos aren't actually accessories, but rather t-shirts and tank tops with transparent design "sleeves" that replace your existing clothing, meaning that it's impossible to have a tattoo with anything other than a blank shirt. Tattoos are also arm specific, just like in real life, so make sure you're really committed to the placement of your "Mom" heart before dropping the Microsoft points.<br />

Most people who don't happen to have their Nintendo 3DS AR cards handy just, you know, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/28/load-up-your-3ds-ar-cards-on-your-internet-equipped-phone/">load them up on a smartphone</a>. But a fellow who goes by the handle Cranberryzero decided to go for a more <em>permanent</em> solution -- he got a tattoo of the Mii AR card <em>on his arm</em>.<br />
<br />
As you can see above and after the break, the tattoo actually works. Whenever the 3DS camera is looking at his arm, the Mii of his choosing appears to be standing just below his wrist. Cranberryzero says the tattoo works best in dim light; in bright light, the device seems to have trouble sussing out the card's border from his skin color.<br />
<br />
It's pretty cool -- and clever -- but he'd better start preparing an explanation to give his future grandkids<em> now</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/03/arttoo-3ds-fan-gets-ar-card-tattoo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Arttoo: 3DS fan gets AR card tattoo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/03/arttoo-3ds-fan-gets-ar-card-tattoo/">Arttoo: 3DS fan gets AR card tattoo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 May 2011 01:00:00 EST. The Console Wars[TM] have been raging since before some of us were even born. For a majority of gamers, this is all they know, but thankfully one man <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/wages/3784501190/">is stepping up</a> to try and bring an end to this eternal conflict. In combining <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo">Halo</a>'</em>s Master Chief and Nintendo's iconic mascot, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mario">Mario</a>, he's created one super tattoo and blueprint for the future prosperity of all gaming peoples. This Master Mario Chief is able to squash Goombas at alarming speed and save not only the Mushroom Kingdom from despair, but all of humanity in the year 2553 -- he's a figure every console owner can love.<br />
<br />
Frankly, we applaud this man's courage and dedication to acknowledge that there are good things on all consoles via this permanent tattoo. Instead of blindly trashing the opposition as inferior, he celebrates each console's merits. Except for anything on Sony platforms, though, because<em> Sony totally sucks</em>.<br />

Somehow we totally missed <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dirt-2">Dirt 2's</a></em> reinvention of digital "dirt" -- from dusty rally racing to busty Sally tracing. At least, that's what the ploy at <a href="http://dirtytats.com/">Dirtytats.com</a> (NSFW) would have us believe. The game's promotional site presents visitors with a pair of animated assets to put one's ink on. We decided to give our <em>models</em> a lace bra-like tattoo to cover up the ample skin real estate and express -- in a word -- what we thought about this type of marketing being tied into a racing game (after the break, fellow art lovers).<br /><br />Now, if <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/saints-row-2">Saints Row 2</a></em> had done something like this ... <em>brilliant!</em> It's all about context.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dirt-2/">DiRT 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dirt-2/#1462561"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/jump_renderdirt2033109_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dirt-2/#1376090"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/dirt2_concept_uk_battersea-2202009-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dirt-2/#1376089"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/dirt2_utah_01-2202009-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dirt-2/#1376088"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/dirt2_target_rv-1-2202009-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dirt-2/#1376087"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/dirt2_target-rv-ext-02a-2202009-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/03/dirt-2-is-the-breast-tattoo-simulator-ever/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dirt 2 is the 'breast' tattoo simulator ever</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/03/dirt-2-is-the-breast-tattoo-simulator-ever/">Dirt 2 is the 'breast' tattoo simulator ever</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Sep 2009 11:56:00 EST. The person above is just one of several in a collection of folks who, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/31/man-surrenders-back-for-mushroom-kingdom-tattoo/">others</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/22/the-zelda-tattoos-or-an-ink-to-the-past/">we've</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/29/tatts-a-lot-of-ink-the-piranha-plant-tattoo/">seen</a>, found a place in their hearts, and skin, for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nintendo">Nintendo</a> and its venerable icons. Pouring over <a href="http://www.nintendocu.com/index.php?subaction=showfull&amp;id=1236184715&amp;archive=&amp;start_from=&amp;ucat=17&amp;">the gallery</a>, some of the ink is tasteful, or at least easily hidden, good advice for anyone mulling over branding their body in the name of their hobby, or company of choice. <br /><br />Still, while tattooing invincibility stars on your neck may seem like a good idea at the time, the sprites are equally good at keeping you untouchable by gainful employment as they are from shells and animated fungus. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=74570">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/nintendo-tattoos-show-questionable-judgment/">Nintendo tattoos show questionable judgment</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 08:30:00 EST. Nintendo super-fan <a href="http://evethedemoness.livejournal.com/">Eve The Demoness</a> has finally completed her dream tattoo, as you can see. Signing her <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/gamingtattoos/194660.html">LiveJournal</a> entries as "The Piranha Plant Princess," Eve has had her over-sized chest tattoo colored to showcase her favorite game character -- guest starring a pair of Bob-ombs. There are many schools of thought on how to show off nerd culture love -- slick visuals and creativity is the way Eve decided to go -- but some take <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/this-nintendo-jacket-is-the-perfect-gift-for-no-one/">the road less traveled</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/29/tatts-a-lot-of-ink-the-piranha-plant-tattoo/">Tatts a lot of ink: The Piranha Plant tattoo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Jan 2009 17:00:00 EST. Remember that story we ran a few days ago about the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/fanboyism-extreme-the-ps3-tattoo/">PS3 tattoo</a>? Well apparently, that wasn't the first. That honor goes to SCEE employee Omar Siu who said he got his "This is Living" art piece (as seen above) on Decemeber 22, 2007. Undoubtedly, both Omar's and Mobiletone's tattoos are equally fanboyish and are full of win. We salute you guys!<br /><br />Omar isn't the only one who sent in pictures of PS-themed tattoos, Marc Blair also shared his tattoo of a wired Dualshock controller. Technically not PS3, but still awesome nonetheless. While we love these PS3 inspired artworks, won't someone please send in a Blu-ray inspired tattoo?! You know, to commemorate Blu-ray winning over HD DVD. Anyway we might not get those Blu-ray tats, so just have a look at Marc's skin art and another pic of Omar's tattoo after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/11/this-is-skin-art-more-ps3-tattoos/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>This is skin art: more PS3 tattoos</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/11/this-is-skin-art-more-ps3-tattoos/">This is skin art: more PS3 tattoos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Mar 2008 00:30:00 EST. Man. There's a lot we could say about this <em>Duck Hunt</em> tribute tattoo. We could say it's just awesome; after all, it's pretty well done, artistically, and we approve of the subject, as far as video game ink goes. But the placement is somewhat questionable. If you're the owner, you have to wonder just what sort of message this sends. Is it an "aim here" sort of deal? Is that <em>really</em> what you want to convey with your body art, considering? We <em>all</em> want to shoot that damned dog. And if you're, uh, in an <em>intimate situation</em> with the owner of this patch of skin, that's got to be pretty demeaning. That dog haunted gamers around the world with his laughter.<br /><br />Yep, we can't help but wonder if this isn't going to be something the "lucky" tattooed individual is going to regret one day. Let's hope it's not a permanent inking and just happens to be drawn on.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=37275">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/duck-hunt-tattoo-showcases-love-for-dogs-shooting-mockery/">Duck Hunt tattoo showcases love for dogs, shooting, mockery</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Mar 2008 20:00:00 EST. How much do you love your PS3? Do you love it enough to tattoo it on your body? Mobiletone, a friend of Sony Europe's "semi-official" blog, <a href="http://threespeech.com/blog/?p=930">Threespeech</a>, loves his PS3 so much that he decided to get it tattooed on his arm. In fact, he even made a video. (Presented after the cut.)<br /><br />"How much do I love my console? I guess this video says it all. It's been nearly a year since the PAL UK launch of the console and I decided to get this tattoo done in honour of what I consider the best console ever made. Love gaming, love women and love life."<br /><br />This is Living, right? Congrats on your new tattoo, but we're not ready to get our skin inked for the PS3 quite yet. Imagine how much more awesome the PS4 is going to be!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/fanboyism-extreme-the-ps3-tattoo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fanboyism extreme: the PS3 tattoo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/fanboyism-extreme-the-ps3-tattoo/">Fanboyism extreme: the PS3 tattoo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Mar 2008 11:15:00 EST. A combination of two things that just don't need to be combined like this hasn't been seen since someone decided to combine eggs and oil (we're not a fan of the mayonnaise, to be honest). We're not saying its a bad tattoo (well, maybe we are), but we like our <em>Star Wars</em> without plumbers (unless it's a funny skit about Mario cleaning the stalls in the Death Star bathrooms or something) and we like our Goomba-stomping Mario without the epic conflict of good and evil (man against beast goes down so much smoother for us).<br /><br />Actually, to tell the truth, we're surprised our minds haven't been blown so much that we forgot how to even post this to the blog.<br /><br /><strong>See also: </strong><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/31/irresponsible-kids-express-their-love-for-each-other-live-to-re/">Irresponsible kids express their love for each other, live to regret it</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/04/the-force-is-strong-with-this-plumber/">'The Force is strong with this plumber'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 Feb 2008 11:15:00 EST. This tattoo featuring Samus Aran curled up into a Morph Ball, based on <a href="http://mdb.classicgaming.gamespy.com/?g=mp"><em>Metroid Prime</em></a> concept art, is worth at least five incomprehensible kanji tattoos and three or four skulls. It's <em>that </em>good.<br />To (total weenies like) us, the most impressive thing about tattoos is that each one represents so much physical pain. For example, Stephen here <em>loves Metroid</em> so much that he was willing to be burned continuously with a needle for three hours. We haven't even committed to buying fabric for a plush Metroid yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/21/arm-morphed-into-metroid-tribute/">Arm morphed into Metroid tribute</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jan 2008 18:00:00 EST. One tattoo gaming sleeve to rule them all. We applaud <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/gamingtattoos/151356.html">the owner</a>, though we hope his calf doesn't one day become flabby and Samus Aran's armor starts to sag. <br />Pokemaniac couple Andy and Jess decided to memorialize their devotion to each other recently by having a water-based <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Pokemon/">Pokemon</a> tattooed onto their girlish frames. According to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luvdisc">Wikipedia</a>, the matching Luvdiscs inked onto their stomachs promise "a loving relationship that never ends." Good luck on that, kids.<br /><br />We'll see how much Andy loves that Luvdisc tattoo when he's 38 years old, Jess has been long forgotten, and dudes keep winking at him every time he brings his kids to the neighborhood swimming pool. I think we can all agree that there's only one Pokemon worth permanently etching into your skin -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/17/meowth-is-pretty-much-the-best-pokemon-ever/#comments">Meowth</a>. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.thetanooki.com/2007/12/31/couple-loves-each-other-uses-luvdisc-to-prove-it/">The Tanooki</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/31/irresponsible-kids-express-their-love-for-each-other-live-to-re/">Irresponsible kids express their love for each other, live to regret it</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 31 Dec 2007 10:30:00 EST. Today, we're looking at some very permanent marks of <em>Zelda</em> love: gamer tattoos. It takes a truly dedicated fan -- perhaps we should call them <em>fanboys</em> (or fangirls) -- to etch their undying love for our Hylian hero into their very flesh, and we can do nothing but admire such pure allegiance. We salute you -- right after the break.<br /><br />Do you have some awesome <em>Zelda</em> gear? Anything from t-shirts to tattoos, to statues and standees, if it features Link, we want to help you show it off. Snap some pics and send 'em to <strong>showmeit <strong>[at]</strong> dsfanboy [dot] com</strong>. We'll be here all week.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/02/show-and-tell-zelda-week-day-two/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Show and Tell: Zelda week, day two</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/02/show-and-tell-zelda-week-day-two/">Show and Tell: Zelda week, day two</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Oct 2007 17:40:00 EST. We're guessing he's getting ready to *groan* <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/16/halo-3-to-finish-the-fight-on-september-25th/">finish the fight</a>. Originally <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2006/12/18/a-legendary-xbox-tattoo/">reported</a> on by X3F near the holidays last year, this <em>Halo</em> tattoo features the "legendary level" symbol taking up much of one man's back. The tattoo is slowly coming along as "GothicSlayer" gathers the cash to finish it. The <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/08/10/ouch-the-legendary-tattoo-is-back/">latest installment</a> fills in and gives shading to the Elite skull. Maybe Santa will bring him the cash to finish it before the end of the year.<br /><br />We think if there is anybody who deserves a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/07/halo-themed-xbox-360-coming-in-september-for-399-wireless-head/">Halo 3 Xbox 360</a> from Microsoft it's this guy. The man is a walking advertisement/conversation piece on any beach. Although you probably can't best him, if you've got Xbox related tattoos to show off, X3F is taking <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/tips">submissions</a>. You won't win anything but the glory of internet fame, and isn't that all anyone needs?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/halo-legendary-tattoo-gets-shady/">Halo Legendary tattoo gets shady</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 20:56:00 EST. Yes, as you can see above, he chose to have the Legendary difficulty icon from <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo/">Halo</a></em> -- with its (appropriately) iconic shield, swords, and Elite skull -- permanently etched into his back. It looks like he's gotten the cash to complete the second phase of his tattoo, as the Elite skull is now <a href="http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=823183">fully shaded</a>, and looking much more impressive if we do say so. GothicSlayer informs us that the redness of the tattoo is the result of irritation, so it will most likely fade to a more artsy black and white affair over time.<br /><br />If anyone else out their has an Xbox related tattoo, please don't hesitate to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tips">share it</a> with us.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/ouch-the-legendary-tattoo-is-back/">Ouch, the Legendary tattoo is back</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 14:30:00 EST. Turns out, some U.S. prisons provide inmates with money to acquire video game systems as a reward for their hard work. This made the prison guards' jobs that much more difficult, though, as inmates would use the video game systems and various components to create things that weren't intended with their design.<br /><br />For example, inmates would take the motor out of the N64 Rumble Pak and in combining it with some ink and a needle, could fashion it into a makeshift tattoo gun. We imagine many of the convicts on the receiving end of such a tattoo weren't getting Mario's face put on their body. <br /><br />[Thanks, hvnlysoldr!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/30/n64-rumble-pak-perfect-prison-tattoo-gun/">N64 Rumble Pak perfect prison tattoo gun</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Jul 2007 16:35:00 EST. Hello, I'm not sure if we met. I'm <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/">Joystiq</a> writer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/bloggers/justin-mcelroy/">Justin McElroy</a>, and that's my calf. A couple of years ago my two brothers and dad and I started thinking about getting a shared tattoo after my mom passed away. Since we had just been through some bad stuff, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Grief's funny like that. We were all gamers, there were three brothers, so the Triforce seemed a natural fit. We made the decision to do it, then promptly didn't for two years, because I was a wimp.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/22/the-zelda-tattoos-or-an-ink-to-the-past/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Zelda tattoos, or, An Ink to the Past</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/22/the-zelda-tattoos-or-an-ink-to-the-past/">The Zelda tattoos, or, An Ink to the Past</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 22 Apr 2007 10:30:00 EST. That's a given. We love the Xbox, the Xbox 360, and whatever other w&uuml;nderbox Microsoft has in store for us next. <em>Halo</em> runs in our veins. We played hours and hours and hours of it back in the day. Yes, we love all things Xbox, but we're not sure we love them as much as <a href="http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=769838">this guy</a>. Known only as GothicSlayer*, he has decided not to waste the valuable real estate on his back, opting instead to cover it with the Legendary crest found in the <em>Halo</em> series. As it stands it's only an outline, but he plans to get more of the detail filled in as he gets the money to do so (you can get tattoos in installments?). We've seen our share of gaming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/01/random-gow-thing-a-tatoo-its-real/">tattoos</a>, but so far this one takes the cake, kills it, and then eats the cake's children. Let us know how it turns out, GothicSlayer.<br /><br />Anybody else have any game tattoos they'd like to share with the rest of the class?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://halo.bungie.org/news.html?item=17464">HBO</a>]<br /><br />*<em>So, does that mean he is a Gothic who slays people, or is he a slayer that chooses to kill Gothics?</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/18/a-legendary-xbox-tattoo/">A legendary Xbox tattoo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Dec 2006 12:30:00 EST. Some of these new entries certainly deserve to be ranked among <a href="http://www.thelastboss.com/post.phtml?pk=1592" target="_blank">the best</a> -- and word has it, a 'best of the best' gallery will go up next year. How much body space would you devote to your inked idols?<br /><br />Elsewhere, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.bitsbytespixelssprites.com/blog/2006/12/04/vincent-valentine-tattoo/">bits bytes pixels &amp; sprites</a> highlights a striking Vincent Valentine. PlayStation lover Christopher C.
