Those releases don't stop at just emulating the big screen experience; they raise the bar for what all portable titles can accomplish, online and off.<br /><br />That is why Namco Bandai and Arika's <em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition</em> will disappoint both new and casual Tekken fans. Because while the core game -- the parts in between "Round One, Fight!" and "K.O. You win!" -- are just as great as the <em>Tekken 6</em> I've played on consoles and in arcades, everything else is lacking.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-3d-prime-edition-gamescom-2011/">Tekken 3D Prime Edition (Gamescom 2011)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-3d-prime-edition-gamescom-2011/#4373514"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/tekkenprimegcbowling-alley-rooftop01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-3d-prime-edition-gamescom-2011/#4373515"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/tekkenprimegcbowling-alley-rooftop02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-3d-prime-edition-gamescom-2011/#4373516"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/tekkenprimegcbowling-alley-rooftop03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-3d-prime-edition-gamescom-2011/#4373517"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/tekkenprimegcbryan02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-3d-prime-edition-gamescom-2011/#4373518"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/tekkenprimegcbryan03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/22/tekken-3d-prime-edition-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition review: Far from prime edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/22/tekken-3d-prime-edition-review/">Tekken 3D Prime Edition review: Far from prime edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 Feb 2012 17:15:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/tekken-3d-prime-edition"><em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition</em></a> is planned for release in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/27/tekken-3d-prime-edition-enters-the-king-of-japanese-retail-tourn/">Japan</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/13/kid-icarus-uprising-mario-party-9-more-coming-in-q1-2012/">North America</a> in February. Today, Namco Bandai announced a final North American release date of February 14, along with plans to release the 3DS fighter in Europe and Australia (distributed by Nintendo) on February 17, making for a near-simultaneous worldwide release.<br />
<br />
If you pick it up at launch, you won't have to worry about anyone else online having more practice time than you! You can also, uh, open a chat room and host international watch parties of <em>Tekken: Blood Vengeance,</em> the 3D movie included on the cartridge. There aren't that many other practical advantages to a worldwide release, other than the basic "not being annoyed by a long wait."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/21/tekken-3d-prime-edition-coming-to-north-america-feb-14-europe/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition coming to North America Feb. 14, Europe Feb. 17</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/21/tekken-3d-prime-edition-coming-to-north-america-feb-14-europe/">Tekken 3D Prime Edition coming to North America Feb. 14, Europe Feb. 17</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Dec 2011 16:30:00 EST. <a href="http://andriasang.com/comyr5/">Andriasang</a> snagged the latest copy of Famitsu, which confirms a February 16 launch date for <em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition</em> in Japan. As you may <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/3ds-tekken-3d-prime-edition-comes-with-blood-vengeance-movie/">recall</a>, <em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition</em> isn't simply a <em>video game</em> -- it also includes the 3DS' first feature-length film, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tekken-blood-vengeance/"><em>Tekken Blood Vengeance</em></a>.<br />
<br />
Oh, and we should mention, if you're thinking about picking up the game simply to see <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/11/tekken-blood-vengeance-movie-rides-a-panda-in-3d-this-summer/">someone riding a panda</a>, we'd be remiss if we didn't turn you on to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/editor/ludwig-Kietzmann">cheaper options</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/27/tekken-3d-prime-edition-enters-the-king-of-japanese-retail-tourn/">Tekken 3D Prime Edition enters the King of Japanese Retail tournament on February 16, 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Oct 2011 01:30:00 EST. Namco Bandai went just a little crazy at GamesCom, releasing entirely too much media for us to post piecemeal. So after the break, you can find new trailers and screens for two<em> Ace Combats </em>(on PS3/Xbox and 3DS), two <em>Tekkens</em> (on PS3 and 3DS), <em>Tales of the Abyss, Inversion</em>, and more.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://joystiq.com/game/armored-core-5"><em>Armored Core 5</em></a> alone has earned a "blowout" appelation, with no fewer than three videos and a gallery. How much do you love mechs? Find out right now!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/namco-bandai-media-roundup-trailers-from-tekken-tales-ace-com/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Namco Bandai media roundup: Trailers from Tekken, Tales, Ace Combat, and more</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/namco-bandai-media-roundup-trailers-from-tekken-tales-ace-com/">Namco Bandai media roundup: Trailers from Tekken, Tales, Ace Combat, and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Aug 2011 19:45:00 EST. <br />
We've seen almost nothing about the 3DS <em>Tekken</em> game, except for a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/07/tekken-3d-brings-the-king-of-the-iron-fist-tournament-to-the-3ds/">flash of footage</a> during Nintendo's E3 stage presentation. Namco Bandai has released a new trailer of the game now called <em>Tekken 3D Prime Edition</em>, allowing us to see just how much <em>body glistening</em> Namco has been able to generate with the 3DS hardware. It's more glistening than you'd probably expect!<br />
<br />
Namco also revealed that the 3D movie <em>Tekken Blood Vengeance</em> will be included on the cartridge, making it the first feature-length 3D movie announced for 3DS. Namco says only that the package will be released "soon," but it's likely to be the first 3D movie <em>released</em> on 3DS as well. <em>Blood Vengeance</em> is also part of a PS3 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/13/tekken-hybrid-unites-tag-tournament-remake-and-blood-vengeance-m/">bundle</a> including <em>Tekken Tag Tournament HD</em> and <em>Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/3ds-tekken-3d-prime-edition-comes-with-blood-vengeance-movie/">3DS 'Tekken 3D Prime Edition' comes with Blood Vengeance movie</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Aug 2011 13:50:00 EST.
