Celebratory vanilla cake and party poppers for all! And this week's Xbox Originals are none other than Arc System Works' <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/g/guiltygearx2reload/"><em>Guilty Gear X2 #Reloaded</em></a> and Krome Studios' <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/l/legendofspyronewbeginning/"><em>The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning</em></a>. Each will cost you 1200 Microsoft points and some hard drive gigage, but also a cautionary note. Those who decide to jump into the Xbox Originals mix, be on the look out for "some minor irregularities with audio/video for brief periods" while playing. Hey, we're just saying.<br /><br /><a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/06/16/xbox-original-guilty-gear-x2-reload.aspx">Source</a> - <em>Guilty Gear X2 #Reloaded</em><br /><a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/06/16/xbox-original-the-legend-of-spyro-a-new-beginning.aspx">Source</a> - <em>The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/spyro-and-guilty-gear-originals-now-available/">Spyro and Guilty Gear Originals now available</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 16 Jun 2008 14:00:00 EST. As usual with all Xbox Originals, each title will set virtual wallets back 1200 MS space-bucks and offer the same interactivity as the original retail release.<br /><br /><em>Guilty Gear X2 #Reload</em>, which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/rumor-esrb-lists-more-xbox-originals/">we reported would see life as an Xbox Original</a> in February, was a critically acclaimed fighting title when it hit retail and includes full Xbox Live support. Fighting game fans should take note as <em>GGX2#R</em> is one of the better titles the genre saw last generation. <em>The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning</em> is a <em>Spyro </em>game. So, make of that what you will. As always we recommend poking around your local game stores and compare prices if either title is something you'd like to add to your gaming collection.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/xbox-originals-welcomes-guilty-gear-x2-reload-and-spyros-new-beg/">Xbox Originals welcomes Guilty Gear X2 #Reload &amp; Spyro's New Beginning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jun 2008 14:15:00 EST. Few games appeal to adults and kids, but <em>The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon </em>could please both audiences. The younger group gets its beloved purple dragon and familiar platforming. The older crowd will like the depth in gameplay; among other changes, Spyro can now fly at any time.<br /><br />After recently seeing a demo of the game, I was most impressed by its style and art; adults will find a lot of nuance here, too. Spyro mixes a lot of brightness and darkness in its style, reminding me of <em>Fantasia</em> or other old-guard Disney animations. Grasses leaned back as the wind raked over them, in a saccharine outdoor scene. But in another moment, sharp, muted stones matched the danger from an attacking monster.<br /><br />Due in Fall, 2008 for 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, and DS, <em>Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon</em> could even interest players who know nothing of the character.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon/">The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon/#775643"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/04/spyro_screen1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon/#775642"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/04/spyro_screen2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon/#775641"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/04/spyro_screen3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon/#775640"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/04/spyro_screen5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon/#775639"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/04/spyro_screen4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/28/joystiq-impressions-the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon-36/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Joystiq impressions: The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (360/PS3/PS2/Wii/DS)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/28/joystiq-impressions-the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon-36/">Joystiq impressions: The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (360/PS3/PS2/Wii/DS)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Apr 2008 06:00:00 EST. With the holiday season and its big-ticket games approaching like a bullet train, threatening to deafen all with its passing roar, we're not surprised that most people haven't thought to pick up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/spyro"><em>The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night</em></a>. The GBA version of the multiplatform release, in particular, received very little promotion or attention when it hit stores two weeks ago.<br /><br />It really is a shame, as, barring any surprise localizations for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=rhythm+tengoku&amp;searchsubmit="><em>Rhythm Tengoku</em></a> or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mother"><em>Mother 3</em></a>, <strong><em>The Eternal Night</em> could be the last great GBA game</strong>. Available at GameStop for only $15 (with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/12/spyro-heats-up-wendys-kids-meals/">Wendy's $5-off coupon</a>), there's no excuse for any fan of polished action platformers to pass on this title. Some are calling its combat system a 2D interpretation of <em>Devil May Cry</em>; as you'll see in the trailer past the break, that comparison hasn't been made in jest.<br /><br />We sat down with Amaze Entertainment's Sean Epperson, <em>The Eternal Night's</em> producer, to talk about why the game shouldn't be left ignored. Read on to learn more about this GBA gem and its features.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/15/ds-fanboy-interviews-the-legend-of-spyro-the-eternal-nights-se/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DS Fanboy interviews The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night's Sean Epperson</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/15/ds-fanboy-interviews-the-legend-of-spyro-the-eternal-nights-se/">DS Fanboy interviews The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night's Sean Epperson</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 Oct 2007 19:50:00 EST.
