Because your <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ea-sports">EA Sports</a> games need that extra <em>oomph</em>, EA has signed a deal with Sakar International to produce a lineup of attachments for your Wiimote and -- wait, <em>DSi</em>? Sure enough, the <a href="http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/tee-time-for-ea-sports-new-wiinintendo-dsi-gaming--fitness-accessories-84378832.html">press release</a> mentions "realistic-looking EA Sports golf clubs, tennis rackets and baseball bats for the Wii and Nintendo DSi as well as fitness gear for use with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ea-sports-active"><em>EA Sports Active</em></a>" as part of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/08/ea-sports-announces-upcoming-line-of-peripherals/">deal EA announced</a> last month. <br />
<br />
<em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em> and <em>11</em> on Wii will get a series of golf club attachments for kids on up to adults -- extendable up to 24 or 36 inches depending on the set you acquire -- and Sekar will also offer baseball and racquet accessories for other Wii games like <em>Grand Slam Tennis</em>. As for the DSi, the press release mentions five-in-one carrying kits themed around football, baseball, basketball and soccer -- each kit will include a game case, skin, stylus, and clip-on earphones or headphones.<br />
<br />
Then there's the <em>EA Sports Active</em> stuff, which comes in two flavors: Starter Kit and Gym Kit. The first will retail for $19.99 and comes with a Wii Balance Board bag, yoga mat, fitness cord, armband and legbands, while the Gym Kit will set you back a bit more at $39.99 and includes a gym bag, yoga mat with a fitness cord and wrist and ankle weights.<br />
<br />
While we can't really comment on these proposed attachments without at least seeing them first, we just hope EA reads the internet every now and then. Some attachments are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/29/america-chooses-nerf-over-nothin-ea-hasbro-partnership-a-succe/"><em>great</em></a>, while others are just <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/29/wii-fanboy-review-brando-wii-sports-pack/">a painful memory</a> you wish you could forget.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/16/ea-sports-wii-dsi-accessory-bundles-announced/">EA Sports Wii/DSi accessory bundles announced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Feb 2010 14:00:00 EST. EA Sports president Peter Moore recently restated the publisher's commitment to golfer Tiger Woods in a <a href="http://www.easports.com/blogs/itsinthegame/post/slug/ea-sports-moves-forward-with-tiger-woods-pga-tour-online-launch-in-january">blog post</a>, despite the once pristine athlete's <a href="http://topics.edition.cnn.com/topics/tiger_woods">incredibly public fall from grace</a>. Moore reaffirmed that EA's relationship with Woods has always been "rooted in golf" and that the company "didn't form a relationship with him so that he could act as an arm's length endorser." As for Tiger's penchant for prowling, the executive concluded, "Regardless of what's happening in his personal life, and regardless of his decision to take a personal leave from the sport, Tiger Woods is still one of the greatest athletes in history."<br />
<br />
EA told Joystiq in early December that it plans to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/10/ea-denies-forbes-claim-over-tiger-woods-split/">stand by Woods</a>. The sports superstar may be losing other endorsement deals, but as GI.biz <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/moore-defends-tyson-fight-night-cover">notes</a>, EA Sports put convicted rapist and ear connoisseur Mike Tyson on the cover of <em><strike>Bite</strike></em> <em>Fight Night: Round 4</em>, so what's a little philandering between friends and business buddies?<br />

With the <a href="http://topics.edition.cnn.com/topics/tiger_woods">recent controversy</a> golfer Tiger Woods has found himself embroiled in, <a href="http://blogs.forbes.com/sportsmoneyblog/2009/12/tigers-troubles-the-winners/?partner=yahootix">Forbes</a> National Editor Michael Ozanian believes that the biggest name in golf is done being a pitchman. Ozanian claims that companies like <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/ea">Electronic Arts</a>, which publishes the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour</em></a> series, will drop Woods "regardless of what they are saying now."<br />
<br />
Well, we were actually curious to hear what EA is saying now, so we contacted the publisher. A spokesperson for the company informed Joystiq, "There is no change in our marketing strategy for the franchise. Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged."<br />
<br />
Site <a href="http://gamerinvestments.com/video-game-stocks/index.php/2009/12/10/analyst-electronic-arts-will-drop-tiger/">Gamerinvestments.com</a> believes there's "no way" EA is going to drop Woods. Its logic: "There is simply no other golfer that EA Sports can replace him with and there is no way that they are going to stop making one of their most <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/12/us-sales-of-tiger-woods-titles-have-generated-over-500-million/">successful games</a>."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/10/ea-denies-forbes-claim-over-tiger-woods-split/">EA denies Forbes claim over Tiger Woods split</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Dec 2009 20:15:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/ea">Electronic Arts</a> has announced that new DLC is now available for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a>. The DLC is comprised of a single course, Banff Springs. EA notes that this is the first time that the Canadian course has appeared in the <em>Tiger Woods</em> franchise. If you'd like to tread the fairway at Banff, you'll have to plunk down some cash though, 600<span class="album_title"><img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> </span> or $7.50 on Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively.<br /><br />We realize that golf if an expensive hobby, but $7.50 seems a bit pricey for a single course, especially given that most games offer at least three maps for $10. Then again, golf courses are a tad bigger than most FPS maps. What say you, golf aficionados? Is Banff worth $7.50?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/23/tiger-woods-10-gets-banff-springs-dlc/">Tiger Woods 10 gets Banff Springs DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Jul 2009 13:15:00 EST. EA has dominated the UK charts once again, as the publisher saw three of its titles grace the top five spots in the All Formats category last week. <a href="http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&amp;ct=110015">Chart-Track</a> data shows that the one-two punch of a new <em>Harry Potter</em> movie in cinemas and a new game on store shelves was too potent a potion for UK customers to ignore, with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/30/three-new-harry-potter-videos-apparate-onto-the-web/"><em>Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince</em></a> shooting to the top spot.<br /><br />Harry and his Gryffindor chums were joined by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Tiger-woods-pro-tour-10/"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a>, which dropped from the second spot all the way to third, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fight-night-round-4/"><em>Fight Night Round 4</em></a>, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/06/fight-night-round-4-knocks-out-its-uk-chart-competitors/">previous top spotter</a> that has plummeted to fifth place. Rounding out the remainder of the top five were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen/"><em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em></a>, which rested comfortably in second, and <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/tag/wii-fit"><em>Wii Fit</em></a>, which has dropped down to fourth.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/21/uk-chart-get-harry-potter-and-the-ea-games-of-popularity/">UK chart get: Harry Potter and the EA Games of Popularity</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Jul 2009 04:15:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10"><em>Tiger Woods Pro Tour 10</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fight-night-round-4"><em>Fight Night Round 4</em></a> dominated UK sales charts for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/06/fight-night-round-4-knocks-out-its-uk-chart-competitors/">second week in a row</a> (albeit in a different order), taking first and second place, respectively. In total, Electronic Arts software accounted for four of the top 10 titles for the week ending July 11, according to <a href="http://www.chart-track.co.uk/?i=676&amp;s=1111">Chart Track</a>.<br /><br />Top 10 chart mainstay <em>Wii Fit </em>fell to number six, while Ubisoft's Western-themed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Call-of-Juarez-Bound-in-Blood"><em>Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood</em></a> climbed ahead to number five. Activision Blizzard also scored big with <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> (#3), <em>Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare</em> (#9) and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/prototype"><em>Prototype</em></a> (#10) in the platform-combined top 10 list. With <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen"><span style="font-style: italic;">Transformers</span></a> sneaking into the third spot, we're content to find out that, for all the cred British people get for being classy, they still make as many <em>terrible</em> decisions as North Americans. Like trying to watch a foreign language film on a tiny TV, it seems that our buddies at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/30/wii-motionplus-impressions-it-works-but-so-far-the-games-aren/">Engadget</a> can't figure out if they've got problems with the Wii MotionPlus technology, or just the way it's being used. The site recently did an exhaustive hands-on with Nintendo's new add-on, the fruits of which you <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/30/wii-motionplus-impressions-it-works-but-so-far-the-games-aren/">can see here</a>.<br /><br />The best implementation/demonstration for the super-sensitive tech seems to be manipulating an e-frisbee in 3D space, which is almost too precious and appropriate for our brains to comprehend.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/30/engadget-gets-in-depth-with-the-wii-motionplus/">Engadget gets in-depth with the Wii MotionPlus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Jun 2009 13:45:00 EST. Because golf is such a <em>classy</em> sport, <em>Tiger Woods</em>' Trophy list is filled with Gold and Silvers only. If you want some Bronze Trophies, why not try a <em>peasant</em>'s game and get off the lawn!<br /><br />

We're not ones to judge, but when we go down to the country club (haha, just go with it), we try to avoid wearing our <span title="processed"><span>CEC Mining Hazard Suit. You see, someone in <em>Tiger Woods 10</em> <a href="http://beta.easports.com/media/play/video/6334059">clearly</a> likes hitting the links in the same outfit worn by Isaac Clarke in <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dead-space">Dead Space</a></em>. Actually, could it <em>be</em> Isaac? Hmmm.<br /><br />An added bonus: Wearing the suit will unlock the "<a href="http://achievementhunter.com/games/tigerwoodspgatour10/">No Known Survivors</a>" achievement for 35 points. Now we can't help but wonder if Tiger Woods will show up as a skin in <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dead-space-2">Dead Space 2</a></em>.</span></span> Or as a suit made of skin ... ewwww. Check out someone teeing off in the CEC Mining Hazard Suit after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.360sync.com/2009/06/18/dead-space-meets-tiger-woods-10-unlockable-costume">360 Sync</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/19/dead-space-suit-tees-up-in-tiger-woods-10/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dead Space suit tees up in Tiger Woods 10</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/19/dead-space-suit-tees-up-in-tiger-woods-10/">Dead Space suit tees up in Tiger Woods 10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Jun 2009 11:25:00 EST. Although <span style="font-style: italic;">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</span> just shipped, NPD Group analyst Anita Frasier <a href="http://twitter.com/NPDFrazier/status/2123633533">noted</a> the EA published series has reached the milestone of a half-billion in US sales. <a href="http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6211894.html">Gamespot</a> adds (via <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25691350/">Forbes</a>) that the game series is just one revenue stream for the 33-year-old athlete, who is set to hit $1 billion in career earning this year.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2009/06/12/tiger-woods-beats-500-million-in-us-sales/">VG247</a>]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (PS3 &amp; 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003208"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens53_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003207"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens50_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003206"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens55_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003205"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens34_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003203"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003363"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens38_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003362"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens70_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003361"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens68_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003360"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens55_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003358"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens41_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/12/us-sales-of-tiger-woods-titles-have-generated-over-500-million/">US sales of Tiger Woods titles have generated over $500 million</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Jun 2009 21:45:00 EST. Electronic Arts sends word that a demo for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a> is available now <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/offers/0ddf0001-0000-4000-8000-0000454188ac?cid=SLink">on Xbox Live</a>. The demo is also up on the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/05/21/european-psn-releases-for-may-21">European PSN</a> and will be on the US PSN as soon as it updates. The demo features the Bethpage Black and Turnberry golf courses and also includes one playable event in the new Tournament Challenge Mode. Finally, and this is really just a guess on our part, the demo will probably feature Tiger Woods.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/21/fore-tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-demo-now-on-xbl-psn/">Fore! The two just disagree on how long it will take. <br /><br />Pachter believes that the sales will happen early on, driven by bundles of early MotionPlus compatible software: "I think around 20 percent of Wii owners in the US and Europe will have bought <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/14/wii-motionplus-shipping-june-8-wii-sports-resort-following-on-j/"><em>Wii Sports Resort</em></a>, <em><a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-the-video-tour-wii-edition/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</a> </em>or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/joystiq-hands-on-ea-sports-grand-slam-tennis/"><em>EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis</em></a>," Pachter told <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/analyst-ten-million-motionplus-sales-in-2009">Edge</a>, "so that's around eight million." He added, "I think another two million will buy MotionPlus with new consoles."<br /><br />Divnich thinks three million units will sell through this holiday season, but it will take an additional year to achieve the ten-million-plus level of sales. "For the Wii MotionPlus, we currently expect the install base to reach over 11 million units by the end of Nintendo's next fiscal year in March 2011, a 15 percent penetration."<br /><br />Both analysts think <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/30/red-steel-2-is-motionplus-exclusive-cel-shaded/"><em>Red Steel 2</em></a> is a risk that could pay off for Ubisoft. "<em>Red Steel 2</em> may come along at precisely the right time, around when people are ready for another [MotionPlus] game," Pachter said. "The risk is really more a function of competition, compounded by the risk that Ubisoft could make a bad game." Both analysts believe that <em>Red Steel 2</em> will be bundled with a MotionPlus.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/analysts-predict-over-ten-million-sales-for-motionplus/">Analysts predict over ten million sales for MotionPlus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 May 2009 09:10:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10/"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a> will be hitting all major consoles and handhelds, but the Wii MotionPlus really makes it stand out on Nintendo's flagship game unit. It offers a greater degree of club control than we've ever seen in a game, though don't expect it to make you a better golfer ... unless you can somehow graft a Wiimote onto your club. You can check out Tiger's WiiMotion Plus in action <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/joystiq-hands-on-tiger-woods-10-wii/">here</a>, and then head after the break to see new videos depicting the Live Tournament mode, as well as the new golfers and courses in the game.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003363"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens38_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003362"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens70_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003361"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens68_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003360"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens55_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-wii/#2003358"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealawiiscreens41_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-the-video-tour-wii-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10: The video tour, Wii edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-the-video-tour-wii-edition/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10: The video tour, Wii edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 May 2009 19:00:00 EST. We took <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10/"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a> through the paces recently -- Wii MotionPlus included -- and encountered a fair bit of confidence from product manager Randy Chase, who said, "You know ... I just realized that this is going to put those really expensive digital golf swing analyzers out of business." Actually it's not quite that accurate, but it's getting there. Perhaps one day you can look forward to suckering golf wannabees out of thousands of dollars by charging them for "lessons" from Tiger Woods himself.<br /><br />Randy took a few swings with Tiger Woods <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10/">back in March</a>, and we're happy to echo his sentiments. It's very rewarding to switch over to the MotionPlus and watch your golfer avatar follow along pretty darn precisely with your swing. It not only makes the game feel more intuitive, but (amazingly) coaxes you off the couch. No slumped flailing here!<br /><br />Before you go on, let us point you to some additional media<br />

EA just showered us with new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10/"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a> assets, including a bunch of new videos showing: new golfers Anthony Kim and Rocco Mediate; some of the new courses; and the new "Live Tournament" mode works. Open a window and try to inhale some of those whiffs of someone mowing the grass on a fairway somewhere, kick back, and take a swing at the videos after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (PS3 &amp; 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003208"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens53_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003207"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens50_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003206"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens55_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003205"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens34_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-ps3-and-360/#2003203"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/tigerwoods10ealaps3360screens14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-the-video-tour-ps3-360-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10: The video tour, PS3/360 edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/tiger-woods-pga-tour-10-the-video-tour-ps3-360-edition/">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10: The video tour, PS3/360 edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 May 2009 19:00:00 EST. The company announced that the release dates for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/joystiq-hands-on-tiger-woods-10-wii/"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/joystiq-hands-on-ea-sports-grand-slam-tennis/"><em>EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis</em></a> are being bumped up a week, to match the release of the MotionPlus.<br /><br />Even better, the <em>Tiger Woods/</em>MotionPlus <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/21/ea-sports-motionplus-bundles-confirmed-for-north-america-and-eur/">bundle</a> is <em>also</em> coming out on June 8, so the peripheral will be available with a game from day one. Nice of EA to step up and do what, for some reason, Nintendidn't. <br /><br />Surprisingly, despite now being available alongside the MotionPlus, EA <em>probably</em> won't be able to boast the <em>first</em> game to support it -- or even the first tennis game. Sega hasn't announced an official date for <em>Virtua Tennis 2009 </em>beyond "June", but GameStop currently lists <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74033">June 2</a>.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/">Tiger Woods 10 (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429323"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.3.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429322"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.2.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429321"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.1.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/04/ea-sports-motionplus-games-coming-out-a-week-early/">EA Sports MotionPlus games coming out a week early</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 May 2009 15:00:00 EST. In the past, Peter Moore has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/24/ea-sports-moore-tackling-the-challenge-of-wii-sports/">hinted at the tenuous relationship</a> between the company he helms (EA Sports) and Nintendo's three-DVD-wide home console (the Wii). Yesterday, the leader of the highly athletic development studio fully acknowledged EA Sports' lackluster sales performance on the Wii <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/moore-ea-is-under-performing-on-wii">in an interview with Eurogamer</a>, stating, "when I look at the attach rate on the Wii of our software to where I think we should be, we're under-performing still, we need to do much better."<br /><br />Moore is hoping to claim a few extra slices of that <em>sweet</em> Wii pie with the studio's upcoming MotionPlus-infused sports titles, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Tiger%20Woods%2010">Tiger Woods 10</a> </em>and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Grand%20Slam%20Tennis">Grand Slam Tennis</a></em>. Of course, we can't have a story about Mr. Moore without one of his trademarked Awesomely<em> </em>Ostentatious Quotes: "Those two titles couldn't come at a better time for us, nor for Nintendo quite frankly." <em>Oh, yeah</em>. That one's going up on the fridge.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/30/peter-moore-says-ea-sports-is-under-performing-on-the-wii/">Peter Moore says EA Sports is 'under-performing' on the Wii </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Apr 2009 23:00:00 EST. Both games will ship with included <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motionplus">MotionPlus</a> accessories this summer. "This exclusive and limited-time offer is exciting news for sports fans who want to enhance their Wii experience for a great value with the new Wii MotionPlus right at launch with both Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis," Peter Moore said in the press release. The bundles will retail for &pound;49.99.<br /><br />In addition, <em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em> will include a MotionPlus in North America at launch -- over a month before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/14/wii-motionplus-shipping-june-8-wii-sports-resort-following-on-j/"><em>Wii Sports Resort</em></a>! GameStop has already posted a <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=230592">listing</a> for the bundle (at $59.99) and a free overnight shipping offer (enter the coupon code EAGLE). No idea why <em>Grand Slam Tennis</em> isn't also going to have a bundle, but at least there's <em>one</em> more bundled game, so you can get a MotionPlus for your second controller.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/">Tiger Woods 10 (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429323"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.3.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429322"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.2.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429321"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.1.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/21/ea-sports-motionplus-bundles-confirmed-for-north-america-and-eur/">EA Sports MotionPlus bundles confirmed for North America and Europe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Apr 2009 12:45:00 EST. The company may even beat Nintendo itself, unless Nintendo decides to <em>announce</em> a release date for <em>Wii Sports Resort</em>, and then ship it, before June. So, presumably, someone working on <em>Grand Slam Tennis</em> has had enough time with the attachment to know what's up.<br /><br />Thomas Singleton, producer for <em>Grand Slam</em>, said that the device is actually a little <em>too</em> good at registering one-to-one motion. He told <a href="http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/consoles/ea-nintendo-s-wii-motionplus-is-over-responsive--590232">TechRadar</a> that "At times it's overly responsive. It had so much fidelity that at times we have limited that fidelity to make it a compelling experience and giving you full total control." So EA reduced the amount of control you have in order to give you "full total control?"<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/grand-slam-tennis/">EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/grand-slam-tennis/#1429271"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/samprasvolley2-3132009-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/grand-slam-tennis/#1429270"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/samprasbackhand-3132009-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/grand-slam-tennis/#1429269"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/sampras-3132009-6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/grand-slam-tennis/#1429268"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/roddickserve-3132009-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/grand-slam-tennis/#1429267"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/nadalstance-3132009-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=212463">CVG</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/03/ea-grand-slam-developer-motionplus-is-too-sensitive/">EA Grand Slam developer: MotionPlus is too sensitive</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 Apr 2009 13:55:00 EST. Unlike EA's other 1:1 motion sensing sports offering, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grand-slam-tennis"><em>Grand Slam Tennis</em></a>, we were able to more immediately appreciate what Nintendo's new tech brought to the game.<br /><br />Playing one hole at Bethpage Black, we first got into the swing of things (sorry) by seeing how accurately our on-screen club matched what we were doing in reality. The answer was "very accurately." Bringing the Wiimote slowly back and up, we watched as Tiger perfectly matched not only the angle we were holding it at, but the twist of the club as well. We took our first real swing and found that, yes, it <em>was</em> quite true-to-life: we <em>sucked</em>.<br /><br />We got better, though, and putting really seemed to benefit from the increased Wiimote precision. The slightest backward movement was shown via an on-screen meter, providing a really good sense of how much follow-through we'd want in order to sink the ball. All in all, our brief time with Mr. Woods' game was the most impressive implimentation of MotionPlus we've tried yet. You can get an even better idea of what we experienced in the above video. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/">Tiger Woods 10 (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429323"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.3.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429322"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.2.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiger-woods-10-wii/#1429321"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/tw10.wii.1.031309_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/joystiq-hands-on-tiger-woods-10-wii/">Joystiq hands-on: Tiger Woods 10 (Wii)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:00:00 EST. In a surprise to only <em>dead people</em>, EA has announced a new installment in the <em>Tiger Woods</em> franchise, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tiger-woods-10"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</em></a>. Releasing for <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/ea-sports-announces-madden-and-tiger-woods-for-psp/">every console</a> under the sun (sans the DS), <em>Tiger Woods 10</em> will not only be the first title in the series to feature the number 10, but also the first to include the U.S. Open, a USGA championship, and the USGA's Rules of Golf. EA isn't stopping there with the firsts, either, as the game will also include real-time weather, allowing the game's weather to match "that of the current weather conditions." Does that mean we won't be able to play during a lightning storm?<br /><br />This year's <em>Tiger Woods</em> will also feature a "broadcast style presentation," which EA reveals includes "Instantaneous updates" from new commenting duo Scott Van Pelt and Kelly Tilghman, from ESPN and The Golf Channel, respectively. Oh, and in case you had forgotten, <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/02/27/ea-not-waiting-on-nintendo-will-release-motionplus-compat-games/">the Wii version will use MotionPlus</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/12/fore-ea-formally-announces-tiger-woods-pga-tour-10/">EA formally announces Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 14:42:00 EST.
