In addition to the Pirate Queen outfit seen above, the DLC adds a new "Smuggler's Hut" building for bringing in resources from beyond internationally guarded waters, a Sailor trait for charactersm and a few other piracy-themed tweaks.<br /><br />You can see the update in action in the gallery below. Pirate Heaven is <a href="http://www.kalypsomedia.com/en-us/index.shtml">available today from Kalypso's own website</a>, or any other places you'd normally grab such things, including <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/205632/">Steam</a>. In North America, the pack will run you $4.99 - no actual piracy allowed.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/">Tropico 4 - Pirate Heaven</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380335"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380336"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380337"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380338"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380339"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/24/tropico-4-plunders-some-pirate-heaven-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tropico 4 plunders some Pirate Heaven DLC</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/24/tropico-4-plunders-some-pirate-heaven-dlc/">Tropico 4 plunders some Pirate Heaven DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Oct 2012 23:30:00 EST. Ryan Langley is a level designer at Halfbrick Studios, so he's used to putting secret rewards in hard-to-find places, but in this case he found one. <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/Rlan2/status/142003381798567936">He discovered</a> that both LucasArts and BioWare have filed for a classification in the Australian government for a computer game called <em>Paper, Scissors, Stone</em>. Unfortunately, we have no idea what that is at all.<br />
<br />
The classification does mention that it's related to "science fiction themes" and that the game will have "online content." When you combine that with the fact that both LucasArts and BioWare are listed on the mark (along with publisher EA), it's possible that, even despite the M rating for mature audiences, this could have something to do with the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-old-republic"><em>The Old Republic</em></a> MMO. A standalone minigame of some kind? That's just a guess, but yes please on that.<br />
<br />
At any rate, we'll probably hear about this one soon. In the meantime, you might want to start practicing your hand signals.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/30/paper-scissors-stone-registered-by-lucasarts-and-bioware-in-au/">Paper, Scissors, Stone registered by LucasArts and BioWare in Australia</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Nov 2011 21:30:00 EST. Here's your first sign that production has actually started on a <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-6"><em>Resident Evil 6</em></a> -- besides, you know, all those Capcom producers saying it's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/07/takeuchi-unsure-about-his-resident-evil-6-involvement/">going to be a long, long wait</a>. Voice actor Joe Cappelletti (whose voice you <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1028496/">might not know but have probably heard</a> anyway) lists the unannounced game as one of his recent voice credits, as you can see on the page with the distracting background above.<br />
<br />
Cappelletti also has <em>Combat Wings</em> listed as a Capcom title, however, and there is currently no game that Capcom makes with that name. There is a <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/34820/"><em>Combat Wings: Battle of Britain</em></a> by City Interactive, but nothing Capcom has announced. Maybe Cappelletti is just confused -- he also lists <em>Steel Battalion</em> on there, but presumably that is the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/26/steel-battalion-trailer-brings-together-kinect-and-controller/">Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor</a></em> title coming to Kinect. Not that he wouldn't know what he worked on, but clearly he's been busy.<br />
<br />
At any rate, if <em>Resident Evil 6</em> production is underway, that's good to know -- hopefully we've got one or two of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/25/kawata-resident-evil-6-could-take-8-years/"><em>eight years</em> it's expected to take</a> out of the way already.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/29/resident-evil-6-listed-in-voice-actors-resume/">Resident Evil 6 listed in voice actor's résumé</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Nov 2011 06:40:00 EST. PopCap, we're afraid we've got an unpleasant task for you. At your earliest convenience, we're going to need you to draft letters of apology to everyone who's come within 50 yards of us within the last 15 minutes. See, a little while ago, <a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/218933189">supererogatory turned our attention</a> to a trademark you just filed, <a href="http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&amp;entry=77850729">reserving the name <em>Yetitrain</em> for use in a game</a>. Our eyes saw the word, and our brain immediately told us the correct course of action: As loudly as possible, we would need to sing Ozzy Ozbourne's "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRbPWcLode0">Crazy Train</a>," and we'd need to swap in the appropriate cryptozoological word.<br /> <br /> Though we've aroused general concern from our neighbors and landlords, we can't seem to stop. This word -- <em>Yetitrain</em> -- is too powerful <em>not</em> to sing boisterously. We're sending you an email to request these apologetic correspondences, and to see if you'll tell us exactly <em>what</em> a <em>Yetitrain</em> is, and then to find out where we purchase our ticket to ride it <em>forever</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/21/trademark-popcap-going-off-the-rails-on-a-yetitrain/">Trademark: PopCap going off the rails on a 'Yetitrain'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Oct 2009 10:05:00 EST. A Canadian cultural agency known as Telefilm Canada recently <a href="http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&amp;tt=url&amp;intl=1&amp;fr=bf-home&amp;trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.telefilm.gc.ca%2Fdata%2FFlashInfo%2FFlashInfo_1013.asp&amp;lp=fr_en&amp;btnTrUrl=Translate">posted a list</a> of 56 new media projects it's helping to fund over the next year. One name on this list sticks out more than all the others: St. Catharines, Ontario-based developer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/silicon-knights">Silicon Knights'</a> apparent new project, which is titled "<a href="http://www.siliconknights.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12365">Siren in the Maelstrom.</a>" We know the developer is up to something, as hinted at by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/silicon-knights-hiring-possibly-for-too-human-2/">a few recent help wanted ads</a> -- could this be the <em>something</em> for which it's hiring? We've contacted Silicon Knights to try and find out.<br /><br />We're pretty upset that the leaked title isn't "<em>Eternal Darkness: Siren in the Maelstrom</em>." On the other hand, it's also not "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/too-human"><em>Too Human: Siren in the Maelstrom</em></a>," so we guess we should count our blessings.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2009/07/25/silicon-knights-project-revealed-through-canadian-cultural-agency/">VG247</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/25/possible-silicon-knights-project-title-leaked-siren-in-the-mael/">Possible Silicon Knights project title leaked: Siren in the Maelstrom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 Jul 2009 17:30:00 EST. Don't freak out, guys. We know how worried you were when we told you that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/survey-says-without-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-is-less-re/">interest in <em>Modern Warfare 2</em> was waning</a> without the warm embrace of that familiar <em>Call of Duty</em> brand name. According to Nielsen's Video Game Tracking service, interest in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/modern-warfare-2">the shooter</a> has substantially improved <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/09/activision-modern-warfare-2-was-always-ready-for-the-call-of-d/">following the association</a> of Infinity Ward's work with Activision's recognizable franchise.<br /><br />Three different <a href="http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/consumer/name-change-is-game-changer-for-modern-warfare-2/">consumer interest fields Nielsen tracked</a> -- "Aided Awareness," "Definite Interest in Purchasing," and "Total Positive Interest in Purchasing" -- increased drastically from the week of July 6 (before the title was modified) to the week of July 13 (post-name change). It's just like Bill Shakespeare said: "A rose by any other name <em>may</em> smell as sweet, but a rose that's clearly endorsed by Activision will sell way better." We're pretty sure that's how that goes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/21/interest-in-modern-warfare-2-spikes-with-call-of-duty-branding/">Interest in Modern Warfare 2 spikes with Call of Duty branding</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Jul 2009 23:30:00 EST. Japanese developer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/q-entertainment">Q Entertainment</a> has mostly stayed out of the limelight since releasing <em>Lumines Supernova </em>for the PSN last year, though a recent trademark filing may hint at the developer's plans for the future. The relatively young company just <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/05/12/is-guardian-hearts-q-entertainments-next-game/">filed its sixth trademark <em>ever</em></a>, reserving the title <em>Guardian Hearts</em> for future use in a video game.<br /><br />We usually remind our readers that not every trademark a developer files ends up turning into a game, but in Q Entertainment's case, they actually do. We've contacted Q to find out whether this might be the moniker of a forthcoming project, and whether the actual game will be as RPG-ish as the aforementioned appellation.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/12/q-entertainment-files-trademark-for-guardian-hearts/">Q Entertainment files trademark for 'Guardian Hearts'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 May 2009 19:15:00 EST. A brief recap of the comedy of errors surrounding the suspected subtitle for <em>Bioshock 2</em> -- developer 2K Marin revealed the <em>Sea of Dreams</em> moniker in the sequel's debut trailer, then confirmed that it had <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/19/2k-dashes-bioshock-2s-subtitle-dreams/">dropped the subtitle</a> last month, then <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/23/bioshock-2-not-waiving-sea-of-dreams-subtitle/"><em>de-confirmed</em> that confirmation</a> a week later, then suggested <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/24/gdc09-2k-as-confused-about-sea-of-dreams-as-we-are/">it doesn't know</a> what its <em>own game</em> is called during GDC. However, 2K's Charlie Sinhaseni might have just <a href="http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/969/969132p1.html">told IGN the (hopefully) final word</a> on the matter -- according to him, the game<em> </em>will simply be called <em>Bioshock 2: Electric Boogaloo</em>. No, wait -- just <em>Bioshock 2</em>.<br /><br />Sinhaseni explained the confusion -- 2K apparently gives titles to all its trailers, and the teaser for the sequel (which appeared in the PS3 version of <em>Bioshock the First</em>) was titled (you guessed it) <em>Sea of Dreams</em>. The developers considered making it an official subtitle to the game, but have ultimately decided to follow the "title + number" format that's worked so well for <em>Madden</em> throughout the years. We hope this is the last chapter in this confusing saga, though it doesn't really matter. An aquatic, morally ambiguous FPS/RPG by any other name would smell just as sweet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/04/bioshock-2-to-be-sans-subtitle-sea-of-dreams-was-title-of-tra/">Bioshock 2 to be sans subtitle, 'Sea of Dreams' was title of trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 04 Apr 2009 14:00:00 EST. Often, they're just <em>Thing: More Specific or Perhaps More General Thing</em>, because colons add weight and authority, you know. Or at least the appeal of more words. Those titles that take the approach of fewer words are usually called something along the lines of <em>Thing</em>, or possibly <em>Thingy Thing</em>, because adjectives demonstrate creativity. <br /><br />With the patterns established, we're free to look at titles that break out of the pack, the games with hilarious names -- intentional and not -- or just interesting titles. What are your favorites among the DS's library? Because there's nothing like heading to work as soon as you get home from work, Hudson is planning on bringing <em>Hard Working People</em> to North America. There's just one thing: it may not actually be <em>called</em> <em>Hard Working People</em> when it gets here. The game's final title is up for debate, or rather, vote; on Hudson's website, you can choose from possible titles like <em>Help Wanted</em> (currently in the lead), the good ol' <em>Hard Working People</em>, and <em>Job Heroes</em>, among others.<br /><br />While this one looks pretty hilarious, we're always a little wary of games that require work (see also: <a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/animal-crossing"><em>Animal Crossing</em></a> and more), but when that game is centered around working, we're doubly uncertain. Maybe we shouldn't be translating everything into a waggling mini-game simply because we <em>can</em>. Then again, <em>Hard Working People</em> really <em>does</em> look like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/04/everything-mama-hudson-reveals-hard-working-people/"><em>Everything Mama</em></a>, and thus could be promising. The jury, as they say, is still out. Out <em>working</em>.<br /><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2008/08/13/hudson-is-localizing-hard-working-people/">Siliconera</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/14/hard-working-american-people/">Hard Working American People</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Aug 2008 10:55:00 EST. Thanks to the Wii's internet browser, we can already enjoy plenty of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/13/trogdor-burninates-with-viidelectrix-update/">flash-based</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiicade">games</a> for the Wii. New flash games come out every day, and while most are simplistic and lacking in depth, some shine like <a href="http://andrewnriches.googlepages.com/Aladdin-7.jpg">diamonds in the rough</a>.<br /><br />Tell ya what. Why don't you <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wwu">recommend</a> a flash-based title that you'd like to see on the Wii? While you have already seen through our thinly veiled desire to simply waste away the day with your favorite flash titles, it's worth a look. Some many aspiring game designers would love to see their titles on an official Nintendo downloading service, so why not give it to them? Which ones do you guys want?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/12/wii-warm-up-flash-in-the-pan/">Wii Warm Up: Flash in the pan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Jun 2007 09:00:00 EST. For the ripe price of $74.99, these jokers don't come cheap. But if you thought the next-generation of gaming was going to cost you anything less than an arm or a leg, you might as well dust off your cartridges.<br /><br />Does this really come as a surprise though? With a console as steep as the PlayStation 3, it'd be naive to think the games would be bargain-priced. As much as I'd like to say "Keep your eyes out for an amended page" or be wary of the current costs, we may be kidding ourselves thinking that next-gen games are going to be anything cheaper than 75 bucks a pop.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/19/playstation-3-game-prices-revealed-from-best-buy/">PlayStation 3 game prices revealed from Best Buy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Jul 2006 08:15:00 EST. I mean what with the <em>cheaper</em> medium of CDs and all, who can blame them for charging upwards of 60 bucks for a single game? Okay, sarcasm aside, there's probably a small army of people out there who are ready to hear something official about the pricing of the PlayStation 3's titles.<br /><br />Our favorite talking bobble head Kaz Hirai is at the presses again spreading the gospel. This time he's finally said something about the game pricing of the next-gen console. "<em>I think it would be a bit of a stretch to think that we could suddenly turn around and say 'PS3 games now $99.99,'</em>" he said to PSM. "<em>So, if it becomes a bit higher than fifty-nine bucks don't ding me, but, again, as I said, I don't expect it to be a hundred bucks.</em>"<br /><br />So it's a "<em>stretch</em>", but we shouldn't expect a three-figure price point for those nifty new Blu-ray games... yet. Actually when you get down to it, what he's saying is that the titles won't be less than $59 or more than $100, while keeping their distance from the latter. They've got such an uphill battle with just the price of the console that I really don't think Sony would have the cojones to push the games to, say, $69.99 or more. Then again, Sony likes to surprise us. But seriously, how much are YOU willing to pay for next-gen games?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/28/the-price-ceiling-is-under-construction-for-ps3-games/">The price ceiling for PS3 games is under construction</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Jun 2006 12:30:00 EST. We just hope our love of the game(s) will stay with us as it has for Mr. Thomas, whether we're watching from home or working the show floor in person in post-apocalyptic L.A. The parties will be sure to be awesome.<br /><br /><strong>See also:</strong><br />

This is one of them.<br /><br />This pretty piece of work surfaced as a possible title screen for <em>Halo 3</em>. It was discussed without end among forum goers and Xbox 360 fans. But apparently it was just a sham. There's been a "Bungie Update" calling this one out as nothing but a faked image. Sure, it's convincing, but most pranks are. Keep your eyes peeled, this probably won't be the last of 'em.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/17/bungie-downs-the-fake-halo-3-screen/">Bungie downs the fake Halo 3 screen</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 May 2006 11:00:00 EST. Not much is known about the mobile-bound <em>Final Fantasy Agito XIII</em>, but the subtitle-less version of <em>FFXIII</em> will concern a gun-and-sword-toting heroine in a futuristic world, while <em>Final Fantasy Versus XIII</em> will focus on "a spiky-haired character," "extreme action elements," and a primary theme of "bonding" (whatever that means). Anybody ready to "resist the world"?<br /><br />The multiple titles might explain <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/31/rumor-final-fantasy-xiii-ps3-exclusive-at-e3/">the earlier rumor</a> reported in March that <em>FFXIII</em> was "practically close to being finished" (maybe only one of these games was nearing completion). Whatever the case may be, we're just happy that more than one not-so-<em>Final-Fantasy</em> will be hitting the next PlayStation in relatively rapid succession. RPG feasting: on the way.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/08/final-fantasy-xiii-announced-for-ps3/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/08/3-final-fantasy-xiii-games-2-just-for-ps3/">3 Final Fantasy XIII games; 2 just for PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 May 2006 22:05:00 EST.
