Finally, someone in Hollywood has the vision to make a Resident Evil movie that actually resembles the video games, and it looks to be an action-packed gore fest to rival Liam Neeson's latest - wait, what? This is a trailer for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-6"><em>Resident Evil 6</em></a>, the video game, and not a high-budget action-drama flick? Huh.<br /><br />Well, if you can't have a movie like the game, might as well make the game more like a movie. The above trailer comes directly from the Tokyo Game Show, where it was shown exclusively at Capcom's booth. That must have been <em>intense</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/25/resident-evil-6-tgs-trailer-shows-drama-in-action/">Resident Evil 6 TGS trailer shows drama in action</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Sep 2012 17:30:00 EST. (Don't worry, he's still better off than the guy with the watermelon stand in a car chase.)<br /><br />As of November 15th, checkered retail shelves in Japan will have to make way for the Vita's "Cosmic Red" and "Sapphire Blue" models. In the meantime, we'll be sure to let you know if we hear about this pair coming to the US or Europe.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps-vita-sapphire-blue-and-cosmic-red/">PS Vita (Sapphire Blue and Cosmic Red)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps-vita-sapphire-blue-and-cosmic-red/#5296736"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/psvitabluefrontb_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps-vita-sapphire-blue-and-cosmic-red/#5296749"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/psvitaredimage1b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps-vita-sapphire-blue-and-cosmic-red/#5296737"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/psvitablueimage1a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps-vita-sapphire-blue-and-cosmic-red/#5296747"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/psvitaredrearwifi_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps-vita-sapphire-blue-and-cosmic-red/#5296734"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/psvitablueimage23g_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/19/vita-getting-cosmic-red-and-sapphire-blue-models-in-japan/">Vita getting Cosmic Red and Sapphire Blue models in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Sep 2012 00:55:00 EST. "This year, Xbox will be focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world," Microsoft director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb <a href="http://majornelson.com/2012/06/14/xbox-changes-strategy-for-gamescom-and-tgs/">said on his blog</a> this morning.<br /><br />As a result of that "smaller, more localized" marketing focus, Microsoft's wares "won't be taking part in Gamescom or Tokyo Games Show this year." Hryb noted that "both are still important shows for the industry, and we do wish the organizers well." Microsoft is the second of the big three console manufacturers to bow out of Gamescom, with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/nintendo-not-attending-gamescom-2012/">Nintendo announcing as much</a> earlier this year. Microsoft also <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/21/microsofts-final-ces-keynote-will-be-in-2012-bad-timing-to-bla/">attended its last Consumer Electronics Show</a> this past January, signaling to many that the company was turning to Apple-style one-off press events.<br /><br />The Kirkland, Washington-based publisher showed off <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-4">Halo 4</a></em> and "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/smart-glass">Smart Glass</a>" as major components of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/04/joystiq-live-from-microsofts-e3-2012-press-conference/">its E3 2012 press conference</a>. The company is apparently confident enough in its already announced holiday lineup to skip the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/21/gamescom-2011-welcomes-275-000-attendees/">largest public game show on the planet</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/14/microsoft-skipping-tokyo-game-show-and-gamescom-to-focus-on-sma/">Microsoft skipping Tokyo Game Show and Gamescom to focus on 'smaller, more localized promotions'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Jun 2012 09:30:00 EST.
