The New York Toy Fair outed the sequel with a display of new toys (At a toy fair? Surely not.), and an attendant confirmed its development. New characters and vehicles will be announced later this year, Kotaku says, some time before the holidays, we assume.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/12/sonic-and-sega-all-stars-racing-sequel-striking-stores-this-sholid/">Sonic &amp; Sega All-Stars Racing sequel striking stores this sholiday season</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 12 Feb 2012 12:00:00 EST. Sure, the kids pretending to shove chainsaw bayonets into Locust chest cavities may get the hands-on enjoyment of alien mutilation, but at least they're not watching it on a screen.<br /><br />A series of <em>Gears of War 3</em> toys were spotted at the Toy Fair in New York, produced by Meccano and including the Armadillo APC (&pound;24.99), the Centaur Tank (&pound;34.99) and the King Raven helicopter (&pound;39.99). The toys are still being approved by Epic Games, with plans to hit stores in August.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/25/gears-of-war-3-toys-bring-the-carnage-down-to-a-childs-level/">Gears of War 3 toys bring the carnage down to a child's level</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Jan 2012 22:00:00 EST. Former EA Maxis head Will Wright and his <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/stupid-fun-club">Stupid Fun Club</a> are hard at work on a handful of ideas "that cross a lot of different boundaries." During a recent conversation with <a href="http://games.venturebeat.com/2009/10/07/interview-with-will-wright-on-his-entertainment-startup-the-stupid-fun-club/">VentureBeat</a>, the creator of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/simcity"><em>SimCity</em></a> and its reticulating splines said his new venture is currently working on three projects, even saying one could see the light of day as soon as "six months to a year" from now. <br /><br />He says the projects span from the world of toys to the information superhighway we all know and love. His gushing on the subject of the Internet continues when he says, "Every product that we are working on has a web component ... the web is like the connective tissue in entertainment today." With any luck, we'll hear more about his startup's upcoming work when he delivers the opening keynote at next February's <a href="http://www.engageexpo.com/ny2010/speakers/willwright.html">Engage! Expo and Toy Fair</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/07/will-wrights-stupid-fun-club-has-three-projects-that-you-cant/">Will Wright's Stupid Fun Club has three projects that you can't see</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Oct 2009 22:30:00 EST. NECA had quite the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gears-of-war">Gears</a> </em>lineup at NYCC's Toy Fair this past weekend, and <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/02/17/toy-fair-video-game-toys-gears-of-war/">MTV Multiplayer was there to check it out</a>. Aside from a <strike>cute</strike> Marcus Munny, attendees could also check out the new Boomer figure, as well as the Ticker, among others. Personally, this blogger is glad to finally see a Colonel Hoffman figure. It sucks not having the toy of the guy you murder countless people online with, you know?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/17/new-gears-of-war-figures-featured-at-toy-fair/">New Gears of War figures featured at Toy Fair</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Feb 2009 12:00:00 EST.
