Stellar: Incubus track pack heading to Rock Band in August

Please, pardon us while we potentially spoil some of the Rock Band DLC offerings for August, but Incubus manager Steve Rennie already went ahead and did that on his Twitter feed. Responding to a fan request for info on Incubus tracks coming to Rock Band 3, Rennie replied, "August. 5 tracks 'Megalomaniac,' 'Pardon Me,' 'Stellar,' 'WYWH,' 'Adolescents.'"

Harmonix weighed in on its own forums, which pegged the DLC as a three track pack instead, including "Adolescents," "Pardon Me," and "Wish You Were Here." The post added, "Not sure where those other two tracks came from (we may be talking with them about licensing them) but they're not part of the pack in August and they're not on the DLC spreadsheet in the near future."

Fans will no doubt be happy to hear the news, as this will (bizarrely) be the first Incubus track pack for a Rock Band title. Previously, only "Drive" was available through Guitar Hero: World Tour., and "Dig" is in Lego Rock Band (exportable). We've reached out to Harmonix for pricing info and release date, but expect it to be around $5.50, given past pricing for three-song track packs.

'80s Track Pack available now for Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero

As expected, the '80s Track Pack for Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero is now available for download on all the various consoles, featuring three respectable songs from the decade of New Wave and hair bands. Well, two or three, depending on how you like The Go-Gos. The entire thing is available for 440 on Xbox Live, $5.49 on PSN, or 550 Wii Points, and the individual songs are as follows:

"Girls, Girls, Girls" by Motley Crue (160/ $1.99 / 200 Wii Points)
"We Got the Beat" by The Go-Go's (160 / $1.99 / 200 Wii Points)
"Sister Christian" by Night Ranger (160/ $1.99 / 200 Wii Points)

Say what you want about "We Got the Beat," but we won't tolerate hating on the Crue or Night Ranger and, from the looks of those hairstyles above, they won't either. These songs are available now for both games, so get yourself mo-tor-in' on over to the store if you want 'em.

Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero: March DLC

Next month's Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero DLC should satisfy would-be rockers of all types, offering an eclectic mix of -- oh, there's totally some Flogging Molly! Sorry, we just had to get that out of our system, because St. Patrick's Day is next month and because, man, Flogging Molly is totally awesome.

There are four distinct track packs coming next month, featuring OK Go, Blink-182, the aforementioned Molly Floggers and an '80s track pack -- because nothing says March like a dusty old denim jacket with the sleeves cut off and some Night Ranger.

Rock Band Track Pack: Classic Rock is real, coming in May

Without a doubt, the "Classic Rock" Rock Band Track Pack is real. The ESRB clued us into its existence, but a recent listing at GameStop reveals a price and release date: May 19th for $29.99. A PlayStation Network Trophy list also reveals additional details on the contents of the Track Pack. If it's anything like the previously released Rock Band expansion disc, players will be able to enjoy the disc with or without an original copy of Rock Band or Rock Band 2. We can expect 20 songs on the disc including:

"All Right Now" -- Free
"Can't Stand Losing You" -- The Police
"Closer to the Heart" -- Rush
"Holiday in Cambodia" -- Dead Kennedys
"The Joker" -- Steve Miller Band
"Peace of Mind" -- Boston
"Rock and Roll Band" -- Boston
"Take the Money and Run" -- Steve Miller Band

EA and Harmonix still haven't officially confirmed the Track Pack, but we expect it to will available on all Rock Band platforms: PS2, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3.

ESRB reveals Rock Band 'Classic Rock' track pack

A recent addition to the ESRB ratings list reveals an upcoming "Classic Rock" track pack for Rock Band for PS2, PS3, Wii and 360. The ESRB rated the expansion with a "Teen" rating for violence, swearing and drug use. Not that you'll see any of that stuff going on, you'll just be singing about it.

Example lyrics given by the ESRB reveal three of the track pack's songs: "The Joker" and "Take The Money And Run" by Steve Miller's Band and "Holiday In Cambodia" by Dead Kennedys. All of which have been previously released as DLC. Expect EA to announce the full track list, along with the track pack itself, within the next few weeks.

European track pack hits GH: World Tour, another coming later this month

We've not been excited for a track pack for either of this year's rhythm offerings for quite some time now, but a press release from Activision recently perked up our beret-covered ears. In addition to the Guitar Hero: World Tour Nirvana track pack that was promised to drop today, "European Track Pack 01" also crept onto the PSN/XBLM/Wii, bringing with it a track from one of the hottest musical sensations currently sweeping our homeland -- French rock outfit BB Brunes' hit song "Dis Moi".

In addition to today's Euro-tracks, another three-song international sampler will be made available for World Tour-ers to download "later this month." The standard pricing of GH: WT track packs applies -- 440 (XBLM)/$5.49 (PSN) for the whole pack, or 160 (XBLM)/$1.99 (PSN)/200 Wii Points for just one song.

European Track Pack 01 (Today):

"'54, '74, '90, 2010" - Sportfreunde Stiller (Germany)
"Mama Mae" - Negrita (Italy)
"Dis Moi" - BB Brunes (France)

European Track Pack 02 (Later this month):

Rock Band Track Pack no replacement for DLC, available July

Rock Band for Wii isn't even ~~screwing you over~~ out yet, and already the downloadable content problem has been solved! All you have to do is buy an additional disc with a whopping twenty tracks for $29.99! No, you don't get to choose which ones you want and spend only a little money. You want extras? Pony up, suckers!

It's one thing -- and an acceptable thing -- to milk customers for a few bucks at a time for additional songs they really want. It's another thing altogether to offer up a full expansion for thirty dollars less than a month after the game is released. That's right: Rock Band isn't scheduled for the Wii until June 22, and this Track Pack is due July 15. And it's labeled Volume 1, naturally ... expect another round not long after that. We're anticipating September.

The only logical explanation for this travesty is that Harmonix is upset that they missed the Wii boat and are now scrambling to scrape as much quick cash as possible. The question is: will Wii owners take the rather unattractive bait? Fume your way past the break to see the full track listing for Rock Band's Track Pack Volume 1.
