<div>BioWare has just revealed <a href="http://biowarestore.com/m-77-paladin-pistol-replica-deposit.html">this snazzy real-life replica version</a> of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/mass-effect-3"><em>Mass Effect 3</em></a>'s M-77 Paladin pistol, available for pre-order today. The weapon weighs 7 pounds, is hand-finished and hand-painted, and is one of a set of only 200 made by collectible firm <a href="http://www.projecttriforce.com/">Triforce</a>.<br />
<br />
Buying one for yourself will run you a total of $400: You'll need to put down $200 now to reserve your own fake space gun, and then another $200 when it's ready to go, which is expected to be later this year. That's not cheap, but then again <em>nobody said</em> fighting off the Reaper Invasion would be.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/08/limited-edition-mass-effect-3-paladin-pistol-replica-available-f/">Limited edition Mass Effect 3 Paladin pistol replica available for pre-order</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 08 May 2013 22:30:00 EST. It turns out the Riddler has crafted one more puzzle, hiding one last trophy at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con. There's only one way to unlock these 8-pound, LED-lit replicas, and that's to put down a $100 pre-order at the TriForce booth. Granted, that's not really much of a riddle, but there's certainly an element of challenge associated with opening your wallet.</div><br /><span style="text-align: left; ">Only 100 of these puppies (kittens?) will be manufactured and, to make them even rarer, Comic-Con will be the only opportunity to place a pre-order.</span><span style="text-align: left; "> </span>The full price to throw one of these real trophies onto the pile of digital trophies you've already collected? $400. San Diego Comic Con is going to see up-close what <em>Gears of War's</em> Marcus Fenix would look like if he were ripped in half by a locust and preserved as a trophy. The "Marcus Fenix Epic Scale Bust," created by TriForce Sales (which also created <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/07/finally-we-can-purchase-our-own-severed-locust-heads/">the Locust bust</a> a couple years back), will be available for purchase starting next Wednesday, July 21, <a href="http://www.projecttriforce.com">online</a> and at the show. The bust is approximately 32 inches (81 cm) tall and features LEDs throughout the armor and a COG Lancer gun.<br />
<br />
The "Marcus Fenix Epic Scale Bust" will have a limited run of 500 units, selling for $350 apiece. The "Marcus Fenix Epic Scale <em>Gold Lancer Edition</em> Bust" will retail for $400, with only 100 made. A perfect piece for any corporate lobby or Locust hive.<br />

Well that was quick! just as soon as the Internet caught <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/triforce"><em>The Legend of Zeld</em>a's Triforce</a> in a handful of Google homepage logo designs, Google has altered said images, removing the easter egg. It appears as though the images were created for Google by artist <a href="http://www.susiesahim.com/">Susie Sahim</a> -- a woman whose personal blog contains a picture of her dressed up as <em>LoZ</em>'s Link, might we add ... which is awesome. <br /><br />We've contacted both Ms. Sahim and Google for comment, but, well, it's Sunday. Sunday <em>evening</em>. People gotta rest sometimes. With any luck, we'll have any update for you early this week. For now, peep all the original images over on <a href="http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2009-07-16-n41.html">Blogoscoped</a>.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Google got back to us about the existence, and subsequent disappearance, of the symbols, saying, "<span style="border-collapse: collapse;"><span style="color: rgb(2, 19, 36);">Our doodles aim to celebrate interesting events and anniversaries around the world that reflect Google's playful personality and love of innovation. </span><span style="color: rgb(2, 19, 36);">As for our Triforce Easter egg, we're glad people discovered it and enjoyed it before it vanished back into the Zeldasphere. We appreciate people around the world looking into our artwork so closely!</span></span>" Now, just to find that Zeldasphere ...<br /><br />[Thanks, Matt M.!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/19/google-artist-sneaks-triforce-into-logo-google-removes-it/">Google artist sneaks Triforce into logo, Google removes it [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 19 Jul 2009 20:30:00 EST. <br />We must admit, we've got <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/15/shield-your-eyes-premium-ds-lite-spotted-in-the-wild/">limited edition DS Lites on the brain</a> recently. <br />We're not exactly sure where each of you would place cushions on a list of life's essentials -- they're right next to DS games <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/18/ubisoft-trademarkz-more-petz/">ending with 'z'</a> on <span style="font-style: italic;">our</span> list -- but if you are a lover of cushions (and some of us <span style="font-style: italic;">live</span> with such people), you may as well be a lover of totally awesome cushions.<br /><br />That's where Etsy member <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5219875">punzie</a> can help out, because she's crafted a (currently very small) range of $20 Nintendo cushions, including the charming teal Blooper design you see above. While there's only three to choose from right now, she does take requests -- we're half-thinking about asking for a Kuribo's Shoe cushion to call our own. Sit yourself down in your <span style="font-style: italic;">cold, hard, unpadded</span> chair and hit the break for a couple more examples of her work.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/25/cozy-up-with-blooper/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cozy up with Blooper</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/25/cozy-up-with-blooper/">Cozy up with Blooper</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 20:00:00 EST. <br />We'll be honest -- as charming as it was, we found ourselves struggling to understand how the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zelda">Zelda</a> universe was an appropriate choice of subject for a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/31/its-dangerous-to-put-your-teapot-on-the-table-alone-take-this/">themed, crochet teapot mat</a>. Eventually, we concluded that, hey, Link does <em>occasionally drink potions</em> in his games, right? And you can also drink ... what? Yes! <em>Tea</em>! Ahem.<br /><br />Anyway, this Triforce-branded cutting board from Etsy user <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5733374">1337motif</a> ... we're stumped. Totally at a loss. There's just no reasonable connection between <em>Zelda </em>games and cutting boards. Then again, we're yet to find a more awesome way to chop vegetables, so we'll roll with it. Cough up $125 (yes) and it's yours.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://hawtymcbloggy.com/2008/04/08/link-needs-a-good-home-cooked-meal/">HawtyMcBloggy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/08/its-dangerous-to-chop-vegetables-on-an-unprotected-surface-alon/">It's dangerous to chop vegetables on an unprotected surface alone! If you're still searching for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/case/">perfect case</a> for your DS Lite, you might want to check out these handmade options by eBay's <a href="http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmunkybaby05">munkybaby05</a>. Made with yarn, felt, and plastic canvas, these cases are adorably geeky, and according to the seller, will fit snugly on any DS Lite. <br /><br />There's two <em>Metroid </em>options, including the one pictured above and a Samus vs. metroid case. If you prefer the <em>Legend of Zelda</em> as your game of choice, though, she also has a case featuring Link and another with a sparkly Triforce.<br /><br />The cutest of all, though, are the Mario-themed cart cases, which are shaped like little boxes and can hold about nine or ten games. The game holders are available in red mushroom, green mushroom, or question block designs.<br /><br />Currently they're not too expensive for handmade items ($18 including shipping and handling for the DS Lite cases, $11 for the game cases), but of course, you never know with eBay.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://gamemusic4all.com/">GenoBoost</a>!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/02/nintendo-themed-cases-bring-style-to-your-ds/">Nintendo-themed cases bring style to your DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 02 Mar 2008 16:00:00 EST. <br />Well, you can't expect <em>every</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/14/wii-modders-dig-twilight-princess/">Zelda</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/29/stay-gold-zelda-cube/">mod</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/03/blinged-out-zelda-wii-is-absolutely-luscious/">to</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/15/pretty-much-the-best-wii-case-mod-ever/">knock your pants off</a>. In fact, you might want to put an <em>extra</em> pair of pants on to help shield your legs against the <em>oh-god-this-is-awful</em> rays emanating from this NES paint job. Consider the rest of your body tainted, your eyes suffering the worst of all.<br /><br />What's that cone shape in the back? Does that paint look as sickening in real life as it does in this photo? And why is Link pouring <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/led">glowing</a> sludge out of his Gust Jar and into the Triforce?<br /><br />Next to those offenses, the handwritten controller port numbers and "version" text are almost cute. We imagine the modder's thoughts behind those touches went like this: "Oh, it's <span style="font-style: italic;">nearly</span> perfect ... I just need to write the word 'version' on it! Otherwise, people will think I just named this NES <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zelda">Zelda</a>." Rumor has it that when you open the cartridge slot door, you can hear the system <em>crying</em>.<br /><br />Jump past the break for a close-up of the Link figure dumping ooze onto this <em>Teenage Mutant Nauseating Mod</em>. Make sure to bring a friend -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/11/its-dangerous-to-go-alone-take-this-quilt/">it's dangerous to go alone</a>!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/25/when-modding-goes-wrong/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>When modding goes wrong</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/25/when-modding-goes-wrong/">When modding goes wrong</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jan 2008 18:00:00 EST. <br />To give these green and gold Triforce cases their shiny look, Craftster Renee Parrill used Zodiac naugahyde, or glitter-patterned pleather. The pouches are just big enough to encase a Nintendo DS, keeping their contents confined with a snap closure. They would match perfectly with your green cap and adventuring outfit! Also, you could probably stuff a fairy into one if you ever run out of empty bottles. <br /><br />[Thanks, Alexis!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/hold-these-shiny-cases-above-your-head/">Hold these shiny cases above your head</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Jan 2008 12:00:00 EST. Though not as much of a technical achievement as the <em>Pac-Man</em> tree, we love any and all holiday video game references. This picture of a Triforce atop a 50-foot tree was reportedly snapped by Nick and Will <a href="http://gnatline.com/g2/main.php?g2_itemId=300&amp;&amp;g2_fromNavId=xf7398035&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=bf5261a2e9dd5a1787ec5ed59a9d9b7c">from Gnatline podcast</a>. Shall we cry Photoshop? Nah, it's the holiday spirit, we'll let our lingering doubts lie elsewhere for the night. With Christmas approaching at breakneck speeds, many are scrambling to get all of their gifts secured and their task of wrapping them complete. Not to mention that many a home still need decorating in that timeless family tradition of tossing up lights (way <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qc_RYm0ylA">too many</a> if you're a Griswold). Or, you can do like these fine chaps did and toss out your star or angel that usually rests atop your tree and replace it with a Triforce. Pretty sweet, if we may say so.<br /><br />[Thanks, Nick!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/11/no-better-way-to-decorate-than-with-wisdom-power-and-courage/">No better way to decorate than with wisdom, power and courage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Dec 2007 23:18:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">The combination of half-time shows, videogame medleys and marching nerds is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/06/marching-band-plays-gaming-hits/">nothing new</a>, but this could be the best example we've seen yet. The footage above was shot at the UC Berkeley versus Washington State game earlier this month, and sees a rigorously drilled band belting out a string of songs from a glut of Nintendo favorites, including <span style="font-style: italic;">Zelda</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Mario</span>, and <span style="font-style: italic;">Pokemon</span>. We only hope some of the crowd can appreciate the brilliance that's unfolding before them.<br /><br />It's the formations that really make it for us, though. That bit with the flag at the end is an <em>a</em><span style="font-style: italic;">bsolute win</span> in our book.<br /></div>

Nintendo's making a final push to indoctrinate the rest of the world's pet-deprived tweens and twenty-something geeks, according to a new Sears ad. Come "Black Friday," two more DS Lite models will hit retail ($150 ea.), each branded and bundled with a corresponding game.<br /><br />There's the metallic pink <strike><em>Pound Puppies</em></strike> <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Nintendogs/">Nintendogs</a></em> case, complete with (<em>bloody?</em>) paw print and game -- which reminds us, our lil' pixelated Shih Tzu hasn't been fed in about two years ... Anyways, moving on: there's also the gold-sprayed <em>Zelda</em> unit, (<a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/10/10/eastmost-penninsula-is-the-secret-zelda-ds-lite/" target="_blank">spotted</a> a few weeks ago and) bundled with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/PhantomHourglass/">Phantom Hourglass</a></em>, featuring the Triforce logo for those of us not quite ready for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/22/the-zelda-tattoos-or-an-ink-to-the-past/" target="_blank">more-permanent</a> expression of our faith.<br /><br />[Via <a target="_blank" href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/10/29/sears-black-friday-ad-reveals-two-new-ds-lites/">DS Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/two-new-ds-lite-models-both-branded-and-bundled/">Two new DS Lite models, both branded &amp; bundled</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Oct 2007 13:38:00 EST. Additional LEDs have been installed next to the vents and inside the disc tray. According to Michael, the image of Navi on the transparent cover "looks amazing" when the blue glow hits it. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/zelda"><span style="font-style: italic;">The Legend of Zelda's</span></a> phoenix and Triforce emblem have also been slapped onto the controller panel for extra effect. We've wasted our lives. What have we been doing all these years, while we could have been learning to work with gold, silver and platinum jewelry, and sharing handmade Nintendo jewelry with our friends and loved ones? Oh, right, going to school and having jobs. And also <em>actually playing games.</em><br /><br />Third Project Juno has made some stuff that we would actually consider wearing, including a lot of <em>Zelda</em> jewelry. Our favorite is the D-pad necklace pictured here.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.wonderlandblog.com/wonderland/2007/06/hyrule-pendant.html">Wonderland</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/21/now-youre-silversmithing-with-power/">Now you're silversmithing with power</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Jun 2007 14:15:00 EST. We aren't sure how we'd rank those two things. <br /><br />Maybe we should start quilting, so we can have our own enormous pixel-perfect Link holding a very <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ziggurat">ziggurat</a>-esque Triforce.
