Once the patch is applied, the name of the trophy will be "Bros Before Foes."

Originally named "Bros Before Hos" (as seen above), the trophy pops up soon after you help God of War's anti-hero, Kratos, brutally pummel a Fury, one of a trio of female antagonists in the game. (Though it's not a spoiler in light of the fact that Kratos beats everyone up, we've omitted the trophy description.) The change comes after negative reaction from early reviews to the jarring scene on and the attached award, which is perceived as misogynistic.

"We have created and will soon push out a patch for God of War: Ascension that alters the title of one of the game Trophies. The text was offensive to some members of our community and impacted their enjoyment of the game," Sony Santa Monica's statement noted. "We are endlessly committed to ensuring that our community can fully enjoy the experiences the team has created. As such, we've addressed the feedback and amended the Trophy in question."

Players will be instructed to download the update once God of War: Ascension has been inserted into an internet-connected PlayStation 3. No other aspect of the game is affected by the patch.

God of War: Ascension launches exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on March 12, 2013. The trailer, which its poster says was plucked from the game's directory, doesn't show much that couldn't be ascertained from the name, but the trophy list does offer a bit more info.

The Chinese crime cabaret involves a bomb squad you'll presumably join, and a bunch of cultists you'll definitely take down. Another trophy is for finishing the campaign on 'Ultra Nightmare difficulty,' suggesting the DLC includes a new difficulty level even tougher than plain ol' Nightmare setting.

The trophies are backed up by a PEGI listing from earlier this year for 'Rage: The Scorchers,' content rated for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. id Software founder John Carmack has also said mod tools which were supposed to ship with Rage were coming to the game "soon." It's just speculation, but if the DLC is accurate it may coincide with their release.

We've reached out to Bethesda for confirmation of the DLC.
Rage is getting 'The Scorchers' DLC soon, new trophies suggest originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 30 Nov 2012 09:30:00 EST. But he's never actually helped write an achievement list, and so Codemasters is finally giving him that chance with Grid 2. Webb and the rest of his writers will not only create the achievements for the upcoming racing game, but will have a series of posts, videos, and other content showing off what actually goes into the process of giving away all of those gamerpoints.

"Codemasters have put their faith in us to work with them on creating the ultimate list," says Webb in the press release, "and we're looking forward to repaying that trust to design Achievements and Trophies with unique objectives that will put a smile on players' faces with each and every unlock." We're interested to see just what Webb and the developers create. Even if things don't work out, odds are they won't make the worst achievement list ever, right?
Codemasters hires achievement bloggers to design achievements for Grid 2 originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 28 Nov 2012 02:00:00 EST. Specifically, the "Global Warfighters" achievement, awarded for unlocking "a soldier from each unit, and the "Warchief" achievement, awarded for unlocking all soldiers in multiplayer, will not unlock when the requirements are met.

The majority of the complaints seem to center around the Xbox 360 version of the game, though the problem has been reported on the PS3 version as well. For the moment, there doesn't appear to be a solution or workaround. We've contacted EA for comment.

[Thanks, Brandon!]
Some Medal of Honor: Warfighter achievements not unlocking properly originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 29 Oct 2012 16:00:00 EST. Update 4.30 only brings a couple of changes. First, the Trophies section (for some reason) is moving from the games section of the XMB to the PSN section. Furthermore, Trophies earned on your PlayStation Vita will now also be displayed on the PS3.

Finally, Sony is retiring the Life with PlayStation service and, along with it, Folding@home. The Folding@home project, for those who don't recall, utilizes the idle processing power of personal computers and PlayStation 3 consoles to help further Stanford University disease research. Vijay Pande, Stanford's Folding@home research lead tells PlayStation Blog that the PS3 "was a game changer for Folding@home." The project, and by extension the contribution of PS3 users, has helped pave the way to "a new strategy to fight Alzheimer's disease" and potentially a viable drug.

Those who wish to continue (or begin) supporting Folding@home may still do so via Windows, Mac or Linux.
PS3 4.30 update brings Vita Trophies, folds Folding@Home originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 22 Oct 2012 12:00:00 EST. This, along with information drawn from the game's PC source files by Gearbox forum users, suggests the DLC introduces new areas.

We've reached out to Gearbox for further information on the DLC, and we'll update you as soon as we know more. The patch to add trophies to Metal Gear Solid 4 will be released in Japan this Monday, August 6. The patch also consolidates install times, preventing the annoying installation between chapters.

Konami hasn't confirmed an exact date for North America yet, but did say it would arrive in "early August" on the PlayStation Blog. If you'd like to know what all the trophies are - and why not, you can spoil a game you played four years ago - they're listed after the break.
Continue reading Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy patch due in early August

Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy patch due in early August originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 03 Aug 2012 14:30:00 EST. The listing on Konami Japan's "Konami Style" shopping site also reveals a new installation method allowing you to fully install the game, rather than seeing the install screen between every chapter.

This update will be in both the re-release and the Trophy patch for existing copies. Konami's American Twitter account announced the patch and new version, which suggests that they will be released here as well.

In other Metal Gear news, Konami's 25th anniversary site for the series is up, with information about the Tokyo event and pictures of recent Metal Gear items.
Metal Gear Solid 4 'Best Version' also includes full install option originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 12 Jul 2012 09:35:00 EST. According to an early report out of Famitsu, a Japanese budget re-release in August will be accompanied by the long-awaited patch to add Trophies to the game. The budget "The Best" version will have Trophy support included, but a concurrent patch will add it to existing copies.

According to Andriasang's source, Kojima Productions will hold a Metal Gear anniversary event in Tokyo on August 30, during which Hideo Kojima will announce something new, related in some way to the data-sharing "Transfarring" feature found in Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Specifically, "Transfarring" was a test of part of the "vision" for this new game.

Update: After a closer look at the Famitsu article, Andriasang reports that the arrival of the Trophy patch has not been explicitly tied to the August release of the budget version. However, since the budget re-release will support Trophies natively, it follows that the patch would be ready around the same time.

Update 2: Konami's official Twitter account confirmed that a patch and a new game version are currently in the works.
Metal Gear Solid 4 finally getting Trophies [Update: Konami confirms] originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 09:30:00 EST. We can't be sure, but you specifically will be happy to hear that 10 PlayStation 3 Trophies were dug up by PS3Trophies.org which reveal a yet-to-be announced DLC pack featuring Ms. Quinn.

No other description is given for the content other than "Harley Quinn DLC," nor is release date or pricing info, though Robin is noted in one Trophy as a playable character. Moreover, that Trophy addresses an event known as, "Harley Quinn's Revenge," which sounds to us an awful lot like the potential name for the content. We've reached out to WB for more info, and will keep an eye on the sky for any Bat clues.

[Thanks, Josh.]
Trophies suggest Batman: Arkham City getting Harley Quinn DLC originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 03 Apr 2012 12:30:00 EST. Only the first player to use an application can earn trophies. To earn trophies, you must link the Sony Entertainment Network account of the first player to use this application with the PS Vita system." Pocket Gamer says the following steps will render that warning useless:

Go to the main menu and hold down the screen for two seconds, until little bubbles appear on the upper-right side of each game's icon. Hit the bubble you want and click "Delete."

A screen reading "All data related to this application will be deleted" will pop up. Hit "OK."

Load the game and you should be good to go.

This process won't delete the previous player's trophies, Pocket Gamer adds.
Pocket Gamer: How to get Trophies in used Vita games originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 29 Feb 2012 01:00:00 EST. The months leading up to a big blockbuster release have a natural flow and order to them: First a title is announced, then months (or years) later we see screens, then trailers, eventually a demo or beta, etc. It's a strange, beautiful process, much akin to watching a caterpillar transform itself into a colorful butterfly.

Uncharted 3 has entered the final pupal stage of its metamorphosis, the "leaked trophies cocoon." Head on past the break for the full list of daring feats you'll be rewarded for come November 1.
Continue reading Uncharted 3 trophies are no longer hidden treasure

Uncharted 3 trophies are no longer hidden treasure originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 01 Oct 2011 10:30:00 EST. We were as surprised as anyone to learn that Resistance 3's single-player campaign is compelling and well done, and that its multiplayer is engaging and fairly enjoyable as well, but so far that certainly seems to be the case. No one will know for sure until the xenophobic shooter's September 6 release, of course, but for now we'd go so far as to say that we're actually excited for the release of a Resistance game.

Targeting the completionist lobe of our perfectionism cortex, Insomniac has released the title's official trophy list, concealed after the break. It gives some spoilerific hints as to which bugs we'll be killing and where, so those of you looking to start the game with a mind as pure as the driven snow should take heed.
Continue reading Spoiler zone: The complete Resistance 3 trophy list

Spoiler zone: The complete Resistance 3 trophy list originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 20 Aug 2011 14:30:00 EST. An upcoming PS3 firmware update will enable automatic syncing of Trophies to a player's online profile. Before everyone gets too excited, know that the feature is reserved exclusively to PlayStation Plus members. Another PlayStation Plus bonus: automatic online game saves will now be enabled. Upon first playing a game, players will be asked whether or not to enable automatic online saves for that specific title (otherwise, they can enable it from the XMB later).

In the category of "everyone else," the update will add a new recommendation feature that will allow users to recommend specific PlayStation Store content to friends. A new "TV/Video Services" section will also be added to the XMB. The new category will house online video services like Hulu and Netflix. Videos purchased from the PlayStation Store, however, will still be found in the same "Video" section of the XMB.

A handful of updates are also being added to allow for expanded capabilities when watching 3D Blu-ray movies as well.

Firmware 3.7 is scheduled to launch "soon," so stay tuned.
PS3 firmware 3.7 brings auto cloud saves and Trophy sync (for PS Plus members) originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 09 Aug 2011 21:15:00 EST. Sucker Punch wants to reward its fans for being especially good ... or especially bad. IGN reports that InFamous 2 offers an option to import Trophy data from the original InFamous, which is then turned into starting bonuses in Cole McGrath's new adventure.

We've got a rundown of what your Trophies are worth in the sequel after the break -- starting XP bumps and the like -- but the most interesting bit of info is that having unlocked specific story-related Trophies will actually alter the dialog and side missions in InFamous 2. We'd tell you what they are, but then you'd have to kill us. And also, we don't know, because IGN didn't say.

Of course, you could also look at this feature as one big morality test: Will you be a goodie two shoes and choose not to import your data, or do it and effectively use a "cheat" right at the start of the game?
Continue reading InFamous 2 imPorts your inFamous Trophy data to grant rewards, alter story

InFamous 2 imPorts your inFamous Trophy data to grant rewards, alter story originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 27 May 2011 15:00:00 EST. If you found the first part of PhD researcher and game designer Lucas Blair's study on effective Achievements as interesting as we did, you'll want to check out the recently published second installment over on Gamasutra. While the first article focused on implementing satisfying, compelling carrots in games, this second piece looks more at the more metaphysical components of in-game rewards. For instance, when should Achievements unlock? Once they do, should they be permanent?

Much like the series' first installment, it's definitely worth a read, but take caution: You're going to spend longer than you might like playing its anecdotal Flash game, Achievement Unlocked. Game designer and PhD researcher Lucas Blair recently penned an article that should enrapture the attention of the Gamerscore boosters and Trophy-fiends among you. It's a thorough examination of the different kinds of rewards developers can include in their titles, mixed in with a few suggestions for best practices to ensure said rewards are ... well, reward-ing.

There are a number of interesting comparisons in the report between the dichotomous design philosophies most developers adhere to. For instance: Should achievements be performance-based, or completion-based? Should they reward boring tasks, or interesting tasks -- which the player's likely to do without the incentive. How difficult should achievements be to unlock? It's a pretty thought-provoking read -- though, really, we think Avatar: The Burning Earth set the best example for Achievements a few years ago. Just give us those points.
Game designer writes academic report on effective Achievements originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 28 Apr 2011 10:30:00 EST. A new DLC pack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will deal with the eternal struggle between Porsche and Lamborghini, it seems. The 1.2 patch for the game reportedly brings with it several new Achievements and Trophies, accidentally discovered by one of Eurogamer's readers -- since then, Xbox 360 Achievements has posted a full list of the new Achievements.

It's pretty compelling evidence. The Achievements list cites specific events geared around the Porsche and Lamborghini. Also, this shouldn't be confused with EA's previous marketing stunt to give users DLC for the game which, it seems, is still ongoing.

We've contacted EA for comment and will let you know what we find out.
NFS: Hot Pursuit patch, Achievements hint at Porsche vs. Lamborghini DLC pack originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 16 Feb 2011 23:30:00 EST. Admit it -- your position as a defender against the ever-encroaching Helghast is really just a gig, isn't it? It's just a means for you to acquire precious, digital accolades. LiveArea is NGP's "game-oriented communication platform," according to Sony. In other words, it's the device's (touch-controlled!) user interface -- apparently replacing the XMB -- featuring access to the PlayStation Store, Trophies, PSN friends, messaging, the browser, and other applications.

Each game will have some form of LiveArea presence, too, apparently keeping you up to date on news and even its other players (in case you bore of simply playing the game).

Additionally, LiveArea will include the "Near" feature that tracks your location over time and creates a map of where you've been. (That's not creepy at all!) Read more about it here.
NGP 'LiveArea' UI to support Trophies, PSN friends and messaging originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 27 Jan 2011 01:55:00 EST. The PS3 jailbreak threatens to wreck havoc on the PlayStation ecosystem in ways beyond just piracy. The integrity of the PS3 trophy system hangs in the balance, as hackers have supposedly created an app that unlocks trophies in games automatically. CVG reports that the tool has been used to unlock trophies in BUZZ! and the notoriously challenging PAIN. Oddly, the tool apparently doesn't work in games like Resident Evil 5 and Batman: Arkham Asylum, meaning it isn't quite foolproof yet.

Obviously, a compromise like this undermines the entire point of the trophy system. Sony's Eric Lempel explained to us that the PSP couldn't support trophies due to the unsecured nature of that platform. "If people can artificially inflate their rankings ... it kills the whole [Trophy] system," he explained. Unfortunately, it appears Sony now faces the same issue on the PS3.

"We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it," a SCEE representative commented. "We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details."
PS3 trophies threatened by jailbreak tool originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 14 Jan 2011 17:10:00 EST. Given the slow, slow drip its developers have had us on since the game was first announced, the recent release of the Achievement list for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 represents one of the biggest info bombs we've been hit with so far. While the list doesn't do much to confirm any rumored characters (though the "Fate of the Satsui no Hadou" certainly seems to hint at the inclusion of Ryu's near-clones, Ken and Akuma), it does reveal some features which have made it into the final cut of the game.

For instance, the "Combat Specialist" Achievement mentions a player level progression system, while "A New Avenger" and "Passed the Field Test" reference a Mission mode, which will presumably assist in the aforementioned progression system. Check out the full list of Cheevos after the break for more even speculation fodder.
Continue reading Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Achievements tease progression system, Mission mode

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Achievements tease progression system, Mission mode originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 23 Dec 2010 10:54:00 EST. That's still pretty cool, right? SCEE will soon release "The Official PlayStation App" in Europe, offering light PSN interaction on your iPhone or Android device -- "light" as in you won't be playing games through it, but you can look at your Trophies and the status of your friends. You can also keep up with the EU PlayStation Blog from within the app.

The first version of the PlayStation App will be available soon in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. Sony is working to add more countries to that list and also planning new features. No announcements have been made for a release outside of Europe, however.
Sony 'PlayStation App' for iPhone and Android coming to Europe originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 17 Dec 2010 10:00:00 EST. Alongside today's news that Gran Turismo 5 retail discs have begun popping up in Europe comes a video detailing the game's entire Trophy list, minus three "Hidden" Trophies. Czech site Konzolista has the whole shebang, backed up by a clip found on GT Planet.

Rather than detailing the Trophies, we're gonna leave it to you to choose -- the clip has been embedded after the break and contains potential spoilers (albeit, seemingly minor ones). It appears the trophy (and presumably Achievement) list for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has made its way online. Frustratingly for Platinum hunters, it appears Brotherhood will require you to collect all the flags and all the feathers in the game in order to unlock the elusive trophy. Drat! In addition, there are new multiplayer trophies for the new online portion of the game.

If you're concerned about spoilers, now would be the time to look away. Scanning the trophy list, we can garner three locations for missions: Rome, Spain and the present day. "Dust to Dust" requires you to collect an artifact in the present day, which may suggest that Desmond's abilities will be put to test in the sequel. There are also "VR Missions," which we can only hope will be inspired by Metal Gear Solid's wackier levels.
Hot off yesterday's big Zombie reveal, today Treyarch has given 1UP the entire list of Achievements / Trophies for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Spoilers, minor though they may be, abound in the list we've dropped after the break -- you've been warned.
Continue reading Call of Duty: Black Ops reveals entire list of Achievements / Trophies

Call of Duty: Black Ops reveals entire list of Achievements / Trophies originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 30 Sep 2010 20:15:00 EST. Finally, the first details on Sony's exclusive Mafia 2 content (announced at E3) have surfaced. An early look at the game's Trophy list reveals that <strike>the PS3 version</strike> the game (see update below) will have free add-on DLC titled "Jimmy's Vendetta." From the Trophy descriptions, it appears the add-on includes several missions and an arcade-style points system, multiplier included. With one Trophy requiring 1,000 kills, it would appear that the add-on is lengthy (or repetitive!) enough to allow players to rack up such an impressive body count.

Update: An official statement from 2K Games on July 16th tells us that "Jimmy's Vendetta" is actually the second planned DLC pack for Mafia 2. "The Betrayal of Jimmy" is the first, PS3 exclusive pack, available for free at launch with an in-box code, or from the PSN for $9.99. "Jimmy's Vendetta" will come later, and pricing and availability have yet to be announced as of this update. The trophies after the break are presumably from the second pack.
Continue reading Mafia 2 PS3 exclusive DLC revealed - 'Jimmy's Vendetta'

Mafia 2 PS3 exclusive DLC revealed - 'Jimmy's Vendetta' originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 12 Jul 2010 18:00:00 EST. If collecting virtual Trophies has become something of an addiction, you should be playing close attention to Sly Cooper Collection. Like God of War Collection before it, each game will feature its own Platinum -- meaning, you'll be able to get up to three Platinum Trophies in this HD remix. However, there are a few PlayStation Move mini-games being added, meaning you'll likely need to buy a Move if you want to get every possible Trophy.
Continue reading Sly Cooper Collection nabs three Platinum Trophies

Sly Cooper Collection nabs three Platinum Trophies originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 21 Jun 2010 14:30:00 EST. As hinted at by a Sony survey distributed last month (and then a rash of recent unintentional Trophy unlocks), the world of MAG will soon expand rather drastically with the June 22 release of the Interdiction DLC pack. The bundle, which will cost $9.99, includes the titular Interdiction gametype, where two factions storm one of three brand new, completely neutral maps, vying to control three command posts. Each post your team holds adds to your score while depleting your enemy's, which could lead to some lengthy tug-of-war encounters.

In addition to the new gametype and maps, the pack includes a "Heavy Improved" armor set for each faction, which promises to turn an ordinary soldier into a "walking tank." (Hardly sounds fair, does it?) Players will also be able to unlock a selection of new medals and Trophies -- if they haven't done so already. Click past the jump to see the full list of available accolades.
Continue reading New MAG gametype and maps coming in 'Interdiction' DLC on June 22

New MAG gametype and maps coming in 'Interdiction' DLC on June 22 originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 08 Jun 2010 14:00:00 EST. Up until about 15 minutes ago, our excitement for Red Dead Redemption was limited to our ability to create online posses in the game's open-world multiplayer mode. Thanks to a certain listing in the title's recently released Achievement (and, presumably, Trophy) list, however, our fascination has radically shifted. The listing in question? "What About Hand Grenades," which is unlocked when the player throws their first ringer in a round of horseshoes.

We've posted the full list of Achivements after the jump, though we seriously doubt we'll unlock anything other than the one mentioned above. How are we supposed to embark on frontier adventures when there are horseshoes to be played?
Continue reading Red Dead Redemption Achievements aren't horsing around

Red Dead Redemption Achievements aren't horsing around originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 03 May 2010 13:30:00 EST.
According to the PlayStation.Blog, PS3 firmware 3.30 "preps" the system for the forthcoming implementation of 3D gaming. (3D Blu-ray movie support will also be added in a future update.) In addition, everyone will be able to enjoy an enhanced Trophy collection, featuring new sorting methods to help better organize your PS3 achievements. The update is mandatory, so you should download and install the update if you plan on using any PSN functionality. (ProTip: Your download may be faster if you visit the PlayStation website and save the update to a memory card.)
So, you not only want to play Green Day: Rock Band, you want to be the best at playing Green Day: Rock Band? You want some metric by which to measure your Billie Joe-bility against that of your friends and colleagues? MyGamerCard recently got its hands on the list of Achievements for the game -- which will presumably double as the Trophies, though we don't yet know which precious metals each task falls under. Has your brotainment been at an all-time low with Army of Two: The 40th Day's campaign DLC, Chapters of Deceit? Well, according to Eurogamer, EA is well aware of the issue regarding faulty Achievement and Trophy unlocks and is currently working on a fix.

"There is a known issue affecting Achievements in an Army of Two DLC pack," an EA spokesperson said. "We are looking into a solution and hope to provide an update soon." In the meantime, we suggest you enjoy one of those other games that inspired The 40th Day. It's not a bad way to pass the time until you wait for "soon" to come around.
Army of Two: The 40th Day DLC fix coming soon, EA says originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 14 Apr 2010 10:45:00 EST. We've apparently made it through the worst of the storm, friends. We've received a number of tips informing us that the internal clock bug that was affecting non-Slim PS3s for the past 24 hours has been fixed, rendering all games playable once more. We tempted fate shortly after receiving these reports by testing out a few of our PS3 Phat units and can confirm that they're running games just fine. Additionally, our "lost" Trophies appear to be properly re-synced to our PSN accounts.

The extent of the damage incurred during the bug-out is unknown, but will likely surface in the next few hours. No Joystiq staffers lost any of their hard-earned Trophy data, but we're an awfully small sample group for a problem that affected every living being on Earth.

Update: PlayStation Blog confirms that PSN service has been restored and all PS3 systems should be operating normally.
A wide rash of game-crashing errors is spreading among the PS3-owning community at the moment, most of which can be chalked up to a 8001050F error code. This has led to a variety of unfortunate side-effects for those affected, including corrupted Trophy information and an inability to access the PSN. When combined, those two issues prevent players from launching certain games, such as Heavy Rain, without being kicked back to the XMB.

We've contacted Sony to find out what's causing the issue, and when we can expect to get back to chasing down the Origami Killer. He might just be able to make a clean getaway while we suffer through this downtime.

Update: Sony has acknowledged the issue, and is "looking into it." We've yet to hear an official word on what the problem is, though it seems to be a bit larger than just the PSN. Owners of PS3 Phats are reporting that the date on their console has reverted to 12/31/1999, which is likely the cause of the data-corrupting errors. Some Phat-owners have reported receiving the errors while their console was offline, which is upsetting, to say the least. We'll let you know when we hear official word from Sony.

Update 2: It's been 11 hours since our last update from Sony, and Phat PS3s worldwide are still unable to play Trophy-supported games. The issue is almost certainly non-PSN related, and appears to be a firmware issue caused by the screwy time and date settings. The issue is also affecting debug consoles, which Develop reports is preventing PS3 game developers from working on their projects. We'll keep pushing Sony on this issue. Happy New Year, everyone!

Update 3: Sony has responded to the internal clock error, and is advising PS3 Phat owners to leave them turned off until the issue can be fixed -- hopefully within the next 24 hours. Read here for more info.
On February 25, a patch for the multiplayer component of the 2009 Game of the Year[TM] will be released, adding 12 new trophies and 12 in-game medals. You can find a list of both of these unlockables after the jump.

In addition, a batch of Uncharted 1-themed DLC will be simultaneously added to the PSN, giving players access to six character skins from the original title: Original Drake, Elena, Atoq Navarro, Eddie Raja, Gabriel Roman and Javier. There will be two new maps as well: The Flooded Ruins, which takes place in the customs house from the first game, and The Facility, which is based on Uncharted's submarine dock area. The maps and skins will be bundled together for $5.99, or sold piecemeal for $3.99 and $2.99, respectively.
Continue reading Uncharted 2 getting multiplayer trophies, more DLC Feb. 25

Uncharted 2 getting multiplayer trophies, more DLC Feb. 25 originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 13 Feb 2010 16:00:00 EST. Sometimes, Achievements and Trophies require you to complete tedious tasks or collect hundreds of a certain type of token before they unlock. Sometimes, they only require you to murder a whole bunch of people with hookshots or do awesome base jumping tricks. It seems Just Cause 2 will have a balanced assortment of both.

Inside MGC recently uncovered the full list of Achievements (and, assumedly, Trophies) for Eidos and Avalanche's upcoming revolution simulator. If you managed to get all of the Achievements in Mega Man 9, then either your father's name is Jor-El or you're some kind of robotic boy yourself. Well, the Achievements (via Xbox360 Achievements) for Mega Man 10 look like they're going to be along the same lines: incredibly tough to unlock. Actually, some of them are identical to Mega Man 9, including the Achievement for defeating all eight bosses with just your standard weapon and finishing the game in under an hour. But, there's even tougher ones this time, such as the ridiculous defeat the eight bosses without your helmet on, the extremely ridiculous clear the game without using any energy, mystery, or weapon tanks and even the ain't ever gonna happen clear the entire game without taking any damage.

However, there's hope in Easy Mode -- it's possible some of these could be unlocked by playing the game that way, though we were unable to get confirmation on this from Capcom. As for PS3 Trophies, it's a safe bet they'll be the same as the Achievements.
Hayden Panettiere desperately trying to get off her show.

Surely, you deserve some award for sitting through a season, nay, an episode, of Heroes. Torne, a new DVR service for Japanese PS3s, may do just that. A new report in Famitsu (via 1UP) suggests that Torne will offer viewers Trophies. "It's compatible with the PS3 trophy system, and you can get trophies for things like watching final episodes from a lot of TV series, for example," SCE's Kiyoto Shibuya told the magazine. Being able to unlock Trophies should make the Sony's DVR offering a "uniquely PlayStation product."

We've already brainstormed a few possible Trophy selections. How about a Gold "Otaku" Trophy for watching all 366 (and counting) episodes of Naruto? Here's an idea that could save network TV: a Bronze Trophy every time you refuse to hit fast-forward through the commercials?
PS3's Torne could give you Trophies for watching TV originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 20 Jan 2010 21:30:00 EST.
