	<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/06/playstation-rewards-beta-testers-recieve-thank-you-t-shirts/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/05/ps-rewards-beta-shirt-bigbadbob113.jpg" style="border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; margin: 4px;" /></a></div>
Sony is sending out thank you cards and T-shirts to some of the most active participants in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-rewards">PlayStation Rewards</a> beta that ended on March 31. According to <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/zdub/5681241478/in/photostream/">the card</a>, the "exclusive" tee is "only for Beta testers who reached one of the Tiers" in the loyalty program. "Wear It Proud," declares a <em>bold</em> statement at the top of the note.<br />
<br />
Coincidence or not, the shirts are arriving as both Sony and its PlayStation brand face a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psn-outage-2011/">customer loyalty crisis</a>. Having its most faithful followers out rocking PlayStation apparel might be just the street team campaign the company needs to augment the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/05/howard-stringer-issues-apology-for-inconvenience-and-concern-c/">bigwig apologies</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/05/sony-to-offer-psn-users-free-identity-theft-protection-for-one-y/">consumer protection promises</a>. Of course, the "PlayStation" lettering is perhaps illegible (it's in Japanese!), and "the shirt is pretty lame" otherwise, notes one recipient on <a href="http://www.bigbadbob113.com/2011/05/06/getting-rewarded-for-participating-in-playstation-rewards-beta/">BigBadBob's Blog</a>.<br />
<br />
As for PlayStation Rewards, its public launch remains in doubt following an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/29/playstation-rewards-program-delayed/">unspecified delay</a>. "We remain committed to providing the best overall consumer experience for our users," a representative said in late March, "and we will be refocusing our efforts in the near future to further developing PlayStation Plus and our other network services." <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/05/sony-psn-rebuild-complete-internal-testing-in-final-stages/">No kidding</a>.<br />

<em>PaRappa</em> &lt;3 Threadless.<br /><br />The trendy t-shirt site is now running a <a href="http://www.threadless.com/loves/parappatherapper">contest</a> where designers can create t-shirts inspired by Sony's classic music game. We're slowly gathering entries for our yet-to-be-announced <em>Phoenix Wright</em> Shirt Makers' Club. These elite <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/crafts">crafters </a>have decided to express their fandom for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a>'s graphic <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/adventure/">adventure</a> series and its characters in the most reverent way they know: by giving Phoenix Wright a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/02/diy-make-your-own-phoenix-wright-shirt/">place of honor</a> on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/11/yet-another-phoenix-wright-shirt-we-want/">front of a t-shirt</a>. <br /><br />The latest, from reader Maxy, goes beyond the limitations of home crafting. Maxy's sister has access to professional apparel-printing machinery at a uniform company, and transferred this iconic image of Phoenix on what looks like a 3/4 sleeve baseball shirt. Maya Fey, as pictured on the <a href="http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/NTR-P-AGYJ-N.html"><em>Gyakuten Saiban </em>boxart</a>, appears on the back. It's kind of unfair that we can't follow Maxy's example and make one of these! It may be unfair enough to warrant an OBJECTION! <br /><br />No, it's just kind of unfair.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/17/more-fan-created-phoenix-wright-ace-apparel/">More fan-created Phoenix Wright: Ace Apparel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Jul 2007 11:50:00 EST. <br />Considering the amount of remixes Mims' hit rap single "This is Why I'm Hot" set off -- R. Kelly's "This is Why I'm Cold," the NBA's "The Phoenix Suns Are Hot," and Chubbs' "This is Why I'm Fat" for example -- we're surprised that it took this long for its catchy hook to reach video gaming's catch-phrase-hungry communities. <br /><br />Mirroring Mims' insipid lyrics, the simplicity of SnorgTees' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shirt">shirt</a> design leaves no room for confusion on its message or the company's plans to rake in <em>crazy money</em> by exploiting our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/virtual-console/">nostalgia-addled</a> minds. We can imagine the office congratulations and "props" received by the young designer who paired the 8-bit fire flower with the narcissistic mantra. They all agree, this is why he's hot. <br /><br />The $16.95 shirt comes in royal blue and black, its lowercase Myriad Pro text staying chalky white on both colors. If you haven't heard the song several hundred times already, you have the option of checking past the post break for an embedded music video of the club track.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/27/this-is-why-were-dorks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>This is why we're dorks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/27/this-is-why-were-dorks/">This is why we're dorks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Jun 2007 12:50:00 EST. Here's a cute art project for a lazy afternoon: Do-it-yourself pixel art shirts. HackerZen has all the <a href="http://www.hackerzen.com/06-2007/make-video-game-pixel-art-t-shirt">instructions on how to make your own pixel art clothing</a> for those of us without silkscreen contraptions. The project does seem a little bit involved, but if you've got a kid to keep occupied for a full afternoon, here's a good option. We're keen on the Mario shirt, but anything <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/18/joystiq-is-there-i-am-8-bit-opening-party/">8-bit</a> is easily possible.<br /><br />It's amazing what you can find in a modern crafts store. There must be an iron-on thing where you can fill in what you want and do the same thing ... although, acrylic paint definitely has better staying power than an iron-on. If this art project seems a little bit too involved, might we suggest the simpler and less artistically taxing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/04/mario-clock-version-1-1/">game clocks</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/06/24/make-a-pixel-t-shirt/">DSFanboy</a><a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=20144" />]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/24/diy-pixel-art-t-shirts/">DIY pixel art T-shirts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 24 Jun 2007 14:45:00 EST. Seriously, you should either be working on a t-shirt <em>right now</em> or headed out to <a href="http://www.michaels.com/">Michaels</a> to pick up supplies. Oh, or reading this post. That's totally fine.<br /><br />To make this Princess Peach shirt, HackerZen user Lenore adapted the technique used by a <em>very faithful </em>reader to make his <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/02/diy-make-your-own-phoenix-wright-shirt/"><em>Phoenix Wright </em>shirt</a>, adding the extra step of drawing a grid on the shirt with a washable marker, then filling in pixels to make a big sprite. <em>Excellent.</em><br /><br />But don't just default to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Mario/">Mario</a>. There are a <em>lot</em> of sprites out there. Thanks a lot, guys. The kung-fu character posed for a few shots at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/success">Success Corp's</a> Akihabara event <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/29/kanji-dragon-scheduled-to-kick-akihabaras-ass/">over the weekend</a>, hyping the kanji-training action title. Just looking at the photos and all the fun we missed out on feels like getting crane-kicked right in the heart.<br /><br />Though we didn't get to attend the soiree, it certainly wasn't from lack of trying. We stuffed our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Pokemon/">Pokemon</a> backpacks with dozens of DS and GBA games, our favorite G.I. Joes, and a plastic baggie loaded with Pringles (these were crushed into little flaky bits before we even zipped our Squirtle bags shut) before heading out to hitchhike a ride to Japan, but we didn't even make it past two blocks before the police picked us up and drove us home. Our parents were pissed. <br /><br /><em>Hissatsu Kung Fu: Kanji Dragon</em> DVDs containing all of the game's promotional videos, including an unreleased action clip, were passed out to attendees. Peek past the post break for another exciting image from the event and a look at the multicolored shirts that were given to those who <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/preorder">preordered</a> the title. You might also see us hugging our knees in the corner, sniffling and trying to pretend like we just didn't spend all afternoon crying. </p><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/04/kanji-dragon-event/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kanji Dragon blows through Akihabara</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/04/kanji-dragon-event/">Kanji Dragon blows through Akihabara</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 04 Jun 2007 19:00:00 EST. But are we going to let that stop us from inundating you with every single scrap of <span style="font-style: italic;">Kanji Dragon</span> news that we come across? Of course not!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/success">Success Corp.</a> will be celebrating the educational brawler's June 7th release with a special event this Sunday at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=akihabara">Akihabara's</a> Sofmap amusement complex. Make sure to check past the post break for a larger version of the disc's explosive cover.<br /><br />To say we're disheartened by the fact that we won't be able to attend is an understatement. We wept bitter tears as we read the press release's jumbled Google translation, yelling out in grief when we learned that we'd miss out on free souvenirs. And even though our Dead Sucker design didn't win, we think the winning design entitled <a href="http://www.threadless.com/product/826/The_Leftover">The Leftover</a> is very cool. It properly showcases the somber and disturbing <em>Bioshock</em> feel, but at the same time making it subtle and not so in your face. If we ever wore a shirt featuring a widdle baby Link, it would probably be this one. Even if there were some other ones.<br /><br />We like the details that make up the background: the hearts, hookshot, and other <em>Zelda </em>doodads. We especially like that the boomerang is complimented by an eminently boomerangable Keese, just like it always should be.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.wonderlandblog.com/wonderland/2007/04/born_2_hyrule.html">Wonderland</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/24/wear-baby-link-if-you-have-the-courage/">Wear Baby Link, if you have the courage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Apr 2007 12:00:00 EST. Whenever we try to wade through our bookmarks to pick one out, it feels like we're drowning in a sea of outdated pages and bad puns.<br /><br />OMG Tees has listed over a dozen of the best Wii-related apparel, providing photos, descriptions, and information on where to buy them. We've featured the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/06/celebrity-miis-on-tees/">Beatles</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/15/mii-on-a-tee/">custom Mii</a> designs before, but some of collected shirts (like the <em>Bruce Wii</em> one shown above) have managed to escape our attention until now. <br /><br />Would you actually dole out cash for any of these shirts? Or are you more like us, always putting it off and telling yourself that you'll buy one as soon as you have a little more extra cash laying around? </p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/22/wii-shirts-rounded-up/">Wii shirts rounded up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 22 Apr 2007 17:00:00 EST. We've developed a new classification system for Nintendo fandom based on this event and the accompanying photo gallery:<br />
<ol>
    <li>People who play Nintendo games</li>
    <li>People who wear Nintendo t-shirts</li>
    <li>People who make their own Nintendo t-shirts</li>
    <li>People who model those t-shirts at Nintendo events</li>
</ol>
We personally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/02/diy-make-your-own-phoenix-wright-shirt/">fall</a> into level 3 of the Nintendo Fanboyism T-Shirt Scale. We think it's a pretty good measure of fandom, although it doesn't take into account the whole "working for a website called Wii Fanboy and writing about Nintendo all day" thing. Hmm.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=16225">GoNintendo</a>]<br /> <br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/15/nintendo-world-store-fashion-show/">Nintendo World Store fashion show</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 15 Apr 2007 11:00:00 EST. Just from looking at the shirt, we have no idea if it's related to the Wii game, but the <a href="http://www.4colorrebellion.com">4cr</a> poster who purchased it seemed to think so, indicating that it is part of a line of <em>No More <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/heroes">Heroes</a></em> shirts. <br /><br />We'd like to see the full line of these shirts; we'd be unlikely to purchase this one, but we really like the idea of having some <em>No More Heroes </em>memorabilia. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/suda">Suda</a> 51's games and his company Grasshopper Manufacture's <a href="http://www.grasshopper.co.jp/top.html">website</a> prove that they are capable of <em>remarkable</em> stylishness. Check their <a href="https://freeville.serversecured.net/~grass8/cgi-bin/ghmshopr/top.html">shop</a> for some amazing stuff that doesn't look like it was designed by a video game company. Of course, the store is for Japan only, but go and gawk anyway.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/10/possible-no-more-heroes-t-shirt-surfaces/">Possible No More Heroes t-shirt surfaces</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Apr 2007 10:00:00 EST. You'll question your faith, stop eating properly, scribble drawings on your walls, and wear this t-shirt, waiting for this little Pinocchio of an animation to become a <span style="font-style: italic;">real boy</span>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/20/pirate-baby-t-shirt-re-ignites-our-love-affair/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pirate Baby t-shirt re-ignites our love affair</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/20/pirate-baby-t-shirt-re-ignites-our-love-affair/">Pirate Baby t-shirt re-ignites our love affair</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Jun 2006 22:55:00 EST. Then there's our not as limited-edition Joystiq E3 shirts that we were giving out at the show. Did you grab enough <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/10/joystiq-e3-contest-gotta-catch-em-all/">business cards</a> from Joystiqers on the show floor, like the Joystiq <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/12/introducing-the-joystiq-luchador/">luchador</a> did? Did you make it to the AOL booth during our short, one-hour <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/11/limited-edition-t-shirt-for-joystiqs-e3-readers/">handout</a>? Or were you gracious enough to grant Joystiq an interview, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/12/the-engadget-and-joystiq-interview-microsofts-peter-moore/">Peter</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/15/the-engadget-and-joystiq-interview-nintendos-perrin-kaplan/#comments">Perrin</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/11/joystiq-video-shane-kim-general-manager-microsoft-game-studio/">Shane</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/11/the-engadget-and-joystiq-interview-nintendos-shigeru-miyamoto-a/">Miyamoto-san</a>? <br /><br />If you're sporting a Joystiq tee, let us know what you think. Didn't get one? We'll be giving away the orange shirts on the site so keep your eyes peeled. And if you see somebody sporting one on the street, stop 'em and say hi. They're either Joystiq readers or one of us.<br /><br />Big thanks to Philip and Yann for the incredible designs. Seriously, we're humbled.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/15/whos-got-a-joystiq-t-shirt/">Who's got a Joystiq T-shirt?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 May 2006 18:56:00 EST. <p>The team is sporting&nbsp;our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/04/25/pre-order-the-official-joystiq-2006-t-shirt/">o-fficial Joystiq t-shirts</a> at E3 this week. (Also: good news for all of you who were lucky enough to pre-order a shirt before they sold out: the shirts ship to you today.) <br /></p>
<p>If you see any of us in the t-shirts, don't be shy. Come and say "Hi!"</p>
<p>Don't worry, each of us has more than just one shirt -- you don't think we'd wear the same t-shirt <em>five days in a row without washing</em>?!?! Each team member actually has <em>two</em> each. (Don't do the math, we won't either.)</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/08/joystiq-t-shirts-are-hot-and-here/">Joystiq t-shirts are hot and here</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 May 2006 11:02:00 EST.
