Single-player leaderboards, player-created track leaderboards, and multiplayer ranks won't be affected by this change.<br /><br />RedLynx recommends that players stay out of multiplayer for four to six hours after the update, in order to make sure that any scores earned are recorded correctly. What else can you do between the hours of two and eight AM? Sleeping is one option. Just throwing that out there.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/trials-evolution-getting-bugfix-update-resetting-multiplayer-le/">Trials Evolution getting bugfix update, resetting multiplayer leaderboards</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 May 2012 22:00:00 EST. The next addition to the game will be mounted combat, the <a href="http://www.bethblog.com/2012/05/24/mounted-combat-arrives-in-latest-skyrim-update/">Bethesda blog</a> has revealed. Finally you will no longer need to dismount before you <em>punch that dragon to death</em>.<br /><br />There's no word on when the update will be available on consoles right now, but if you've got the game on Steam, you can <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/23/beta-test-skyrim-1-4-on-steam-if-you-dare/">opt into the beta version</a> and test out mounted combat in <em>Skyrim</em> immediately. Rather than do a sequel, Saltsman is considering a free update that would add local multiplayer for up to two people, eight new hardcore game modes with corresponding leaderboards, and achievements for Game Center.<br /><br />Saltsman also kinda joked about <em>Canabalt</em> without rooftops, as seen in the image above - sounds great to us because maybe then we'd stop jumping into walls. This was more of a hypothetical than anything, though Saltsman hasn't officially ruled it out. Maybe it'll be the most hardcore mode of them all: You spawn and then immediately fall to your death.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/24/canabalt-ios-update-might-add-local-multiplayer-hardcore-modes/">Canabalt iOS update might add local multiplayer, hardcore modes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 May 2012 15:30:00 EST. The update also brings a higher level cap, a new Game Center achievement and improved social media functionality.<br /><br />We hope it also demonstrates how tumbleweeds blow across a dry dirt street in a fully underwater environment.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/23/squids-wild-west-hits-this-summer-free-preview-update-for-ios-o/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Squids Wild West hits this summer, free preview update for iOS out now</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/23/squids-wild-west-hits-this-summer-free-preview-update-for-ios-o/">Squids Wild West hits this summer, free preview update for iOS out now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 May 2012 20:00:00 EST. Now there's a full Seated Skeletal Tracking mode, which only tracks a person's head, torso and arms. Microsoft recommends this not only for when games players are seated, but for any application where the lower half of the body doesn't need to be tracked. Finally, there are also new language packs. In addition to languages like French and Japanese, you get Kinect support for regional differences in languages, like English/Canada and English/Australia. Crikey, devs will be well chuffed about that, etc.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/22/sit-down-before-you-read-about-kinect-sdk-update-1-5/">Sit down before you read about Kinect SDK update 1.5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 May 2012 04:00:00 EST. It's not a Tears for Fears reference, nor is it access to Prince's 1980s clothing selections! Nope, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/infinity-blade-2"><em>Infinity Blade 2</em></a>'s "Vault of Tears" is actually a massive (free) content update headed to Epic's latest iOS entry this Thursday.<br /><br />Several new enemies are being added, as well as "more than 50 new items" and rewards. Most bizarrely, the ability to "earn extra turns and invite their friends, family, and other non-Infinity Blade players to do in-game damage with the power of liking and re-tweeting battle calls." You read that right, folks: "the power of liking and re-tweeting battle calls." In the biz, we call that a "paradigm shift." Also, <em>awful</em>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/infinity-blade-2-vault-of-tears/">Infinity Blade 2 (Vault of Tears)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/infinity-blade-2-vault-of-tears/#5036957"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ib2votboggiant_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/infinity-blade-2-vault-of-tears/#5036958"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ib2votcardboardhero_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/infinity-blade-2-vault-of-tears/#5036959"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ib2votclashmob_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/infinity-blade-2-vault-of-tears/#5036960"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ib2votgargap_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/infinity-blade-2-vault-of-tears/#5036961"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ib2votthestatue_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/unleash-the-power-of-liking-in-infinity-blade-2s-vault-of-te/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Unleash 'The Power of Liking' in Infinity Blade 2's 'Vault of Tears' this Thursday (tissues not included)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/unleash-the-power-of-liking-in-infinity-blade-2s-vault-of-te/">Unleash 'The Power of Liking' in Infinity Blade 2's 'Vault of Tears' this Thursday (tissues not included)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 May 2012 11:50:00 EST. The patch is required for online play, so you will no longer see miraculous leaps forward on that particular course. The glitch still shows up in <a href="http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&amp;id=177304">time trials</a>.<br /><br />Now you have only your own driving skill to rely on in Mario Kart. Well, that and blue shells. Actually, mostly blue shells. Now, you have only the random chance that you'll get a blue shell and not be hit by a blue shell to rely on.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/16/psa-mario-kart-7-patch-fixes-maka-wuhu-exploit/">PSA: Mario Kart 7 patch fixes Maka Wuhu exploit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 May 2012 10:15:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/13/skyrims-voice-enabled-dragon-shouts-arrive-the-week-of-april-2/">free Kinect update</a> adds over 200 different voice recognition commands to English-speaking regions; there are a bunch of new things to memorize, so Bethesda made a handy glossary for you to load up on your iPad or print out. The .pdf files can be accessed by <a href="http://cdnstatic.bethsoft.com/akqacms/files/tes/extras/skyrim-kinect-voice-commands.pdf">clicking here</a>.<br /><br />Simply boot up <em>Skyrim</em> and install the mandatory Xbox 360 update tomorrow. After spending some time with it ourselves earlier this month, we liked how it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/20/talking-my-way-through-skyrims-free-kinect-update/">bypassed a lot of menu work</a>. The <a href="http://www.bethblog.com/2012/04/30/skyrim-kinect-support-arrives-tomorrow/">Bethesda Blog</a> says the German, Italian, Spanish and French versions are all "in final testing" and that we should hear more regarding those territories soon.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/30/skyrim-kinect-patch-out-tomorrow-heres-a-list-of-voice-command/">Skyrim Kinect patch out tomorrow; here's a list of voice commands</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Apr 2012 20:30:00 EST. Konami has issued a rare Two Patch Announcement for <em>Silent Hill Downpour</em> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/silent-hill-hd-collection"><em>Silent Hill HD Collection</em></a>, planning to fix framerate problems and audio synching in the former, and auto-save issues in the latter.<br /><br />Both updates will be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in "the coming weeks." Still unaddressed, however, is the strange bug that occasionally causes the in-game environment to get all creepy and evil-looking.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/konami-patching-up-both-silent-hill-downpour-and-hd-collection/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Konami patching up both Silent Hill Downpour and HD Collection</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/konami-patching-up-both-silent-hill-downpour-and-hd-collection/">Konami patching up both Silent Hill Downpour and HD Collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Apr 2012 14:45:00 EST. But finally, the other half of the game has been added in an update: <a href="http://www.mojang.com/2012/04/minecraft-pocket-edition-now-with-crafting/">Crafting is now available</a> on the iOS and Android mobile versions of the popular sandbox title.<br /><br />The crafting system for the mobile interface is called MATTIS, as in the Minecraft Advanced Touch Technology Interface System. All you need to do is open your inventory, choose what you want to make, and as long as you have the necessary components, it's made. Other additions in this update include better AI for zombies, cows and ducks, and descriptions of items in your inventory. We're really looking forward to the next update, though: Hopefully Mojang will put Pockets or Editions in the game next.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/25/minecraft-pocket-edition-adds-simplifed-touch-based-crafting/">Minecraft Pocket Edition adds simplified, touch-based crafting</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 Apr 2012 12:15:00 EST. A massive, <em>massive</em> batch of gems is to delivered to the game tomorrow via update, along with a "replay analyzer." It caught us off guard at first, because the analyzer's purpose/function is not described in the <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/04/23/street_fighter_x_tekken_update_arrives_tomorrow_w_replay_analyzer_and_tons_o_gems">Capcom Unity</a> announcement from which this news originates.<br /><br />Ater a little digging, however, we uncovered an <a href="http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/add-ons/street-fighter-x-tekken-replay-analyzer.html">official description</a> of the feature, which describes it as "a tool that will show you various data from a replay." Ah, yes, <em>of course</em>. It all seems so obvious in hindsight. Previously, gamers who behaved badly on official EA forums or otherwise caused their accounts to be revoked were locked out completely, but now EA is saying that by switching the Origin client over to offline mode, players can at least play bought games by themselves.<br /><br />To get back online, players will need to appeal the ban, for which instructions can be found <a href="https://help.ea.com/article/information-about-banned-or-suspended-accounts">here</a>. EA does say that most bans are only temporary, but just in case you want to speed up the process we'll say this: Offering crop sacrifices to an idol of John Riccitiello certainly can't <em>hurt</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/16/ea-allowing-banned-origin-players-access-to-offline-content/">EA allowing banned Origin players access to offline content</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 16 Apr 2012 13:30:00 EST. Bethesda revealed said details to CNN in an exclusive interview, wherein the concept was referred to as "Project Adam" and outed as having begun "shortly after the game's release in November."<br /><br />Despite <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/skyrim-adds-kinect-support-for-more-than-200-voice-commands/">the addition of Kinect to <em>Skyrim</em></a> in a voice-based way, Bethesda VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines said replacing any combat with physical actions in front of a Kinect sensor wouldn't make a lot of sense. "Doing combat and swinging your sword and all that stuff without a controller would dramatically change the game. We're trying to enhance the experience as we designed it with some additional functionality." We can't help but agree, Mr. Hines.<br /><br />Take a look at the upcoming Kinect support for <em>Skyrim</em> in the video just above.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/13/skyrims-voice-enabled-dragon-shouts-arrive-the-week-of-april-2/">Skyrim's voice-enabled Dragon Shouts arrive 'the week of April 23'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Apr 2012 09:30:00 EST. The developer promises the commands will apply to a variety of verbs across the world of <em>Skyrim</em>, from Dragon Shouts (Fus Roh Dah!) to follower instructions, and a mess of other voice-activated actions.<br /><br />The Kinect functionality for <em>Skyrim</em> is the latest product of Bethesda's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/08/internal-bethesda-skyrim-game-jam-sizzle-reel-features-dragon/">internal <em>Skyrim</em> game jam</a>, following on the heels of the 1.5 update that enabled kill cams. There's an adorable video showing off how it'll all work just above.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> A Bethesda rep told Joystiq that the update is exclusive to the Xbox 360, despite Kinect existing on PC.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/skyrim-adds-kinect-support-for-more-than-200-voice-commands/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Skyrim adds Kinect support for 'more than 200' voice commands</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/skyrim-adds-kinect-support-for-more-than-200-voice-commands/">Skyrim adds Kinect support for 'more than 200' voice commands</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Apr 2012 10:00:00 EST. Among other things, the patch fixes a bug that prevented some Shepards from importing properly, specifically those that were previously imported from <em>Mass Effect</em> into <em>Mass Effect 2</em>. While Shepard's choices across the first two games would carry over, face data was lost. No more!<br /><br />Of course, not everyone made good choices when creating their Shepards, but that's another discussion entirely. You now have the ability to skip forward and back during play for movies and TV episodes, and a zoom function for those with 4:3 screens lets you convert letterbox to full screen.<br /><br />One other notable tweak is social media integration for Facebook users outside of the States. There's also a single sign-on with cloud profiles, allowing members to access Netflix on another Xbox 360 (like, at a friend's house) with sign-in credentials. Handy!<br /><br />Filed under "still not fixed": TV episodes still start automatically sans individual episode selection screen, and searching is still done with a string of letters, and not a keyboard interface. It will tweak the gem interface and let you meld together three gems, creating a single, more powerful jewel. There's also a new game mode, called ClashMob.<br /><br />ClashMob is a global social game mode where hundreds or thousands of players can come together to take on enemies with massive health pools for the chance to unlock in-game goodies. By recruiting friends into your "Mob," you'll increase your odds at getting some sweet gear, cash, or whatever that particular challenge awards you. You'll be able to enlist folks in your Mob by importing your friends from Facebook and Game Center.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/08/infinity-blade-2-update-drops-next-week-introduces-clashmobs/">Infinity Blade 2 update drops next week, introduces ClashMobs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 08 Apr 2012 19:30:00 EST. More exciting than the hullabaloo surrounding its release: firmware 1.66 reportedly enables <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/24/ps-plus-free-minis-dont-work-on-vita-sony-is-on-the-case/">PlayStation Minis support for PlayStation Plus users</a> on the Vita. Moreover, some users are saying that if you want to snag older free Minis that you got with your subscription, you're able to delete the non-functioning existing version and replace it with a fresh download.<br /><br />We've dropped Sony's list of updates in the firmware just below the break, should you wish to learn more about its less-than-thrilling specifics. Sony doesn't note the Minis fix, but we've followed up for clarity's sake.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/04/ps-vita-1-66-update-now-live-reportedly-with-a-fix-for-ps-minis/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PS Vita 1.66 update now live, reportedly with a fix for PS Minis support</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/04/ps-vita-1-66-update-now-live-reportedly-with-a-fix-for-ps-minis/">PS Vita 1.66 update now live, reportedly with a fix for PS Minis support</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Apr 2012 16:30:00 EST. The patch not only tackles the sound vacuum, but also addresses gem complaints -- specifically, how annoying it is to set up gem combinations right now.<br /><br />Users will be able to set gem combinations from the versus screen as opposed to having to go through each individual fighter and setting combinations that way. Atlus' latest Steam-exclusive update to the game solves that very problem, turning the orb of rock into a solid block. As you might imagine, this makes movement just a tad more difficult than normal, meaning that the various obstacles stopping said rock from pulverizing an opponent's castle are all the more difficult to navigate.<br /><br />Atlus PR man Aram Jabarri demonstrates that frustration in the video we've dropped just above, and you can grab the update for free via Steam right now.<br /><br />In other <em>Rock of Ages</em> news, the game will finally see launch on the PlayStation 3 in May or June, Jabarri told us. The patch will arrive "soon" to PC and Xbox 360.<br /><br />The short version of executive producer Patrick Bach's explanation for the delay on PC: The PC version is held until the console versions are certified, which helps prevent the patching of patches.<br /><br />Those interested in renting a server can access that through the conveniently named "RENT A SERVER" menu in the game. Servers can be rented in increments of 1 day ($1.49), 7 days ($6.99), 30 days ($24.99) and 90 days ($64.99). DICE is ramping up this service, so if the option is grayed out, it means rentals are currently at capacity.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/27/battlefield-3-update-today-on-ps3-soon-for-xbox-and-pc-serve/">Battlefield 3 update today on PS3, 'soon' for Xbox and PC; server rental details</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Mar 2012 16:00:00 EST. Titles fall out of the top ten within days or weeks (if they ever get there at all), there are awesome new releases arriving every month or so, and even the biggest games are on a yearly (if that) sequel schedule at this point. And yet <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/world-of-warcraft"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> has remained a constant. Blizzard's MMO has held millions of players in sway for over half a decade, and those players have killed countless boars, cleared out endless quests, dungeons, and raids, and have vanquished not one but three world-threatening expansion bosses, in the forms of Illidan Stormrage, Arthas the Lich King, and Deathwing and his Cataclysm.<br /><br />So Blizzard is perhaps taking on its hardest task ever with the upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/25/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-sets-a-new-direction-for-bl/"><em>Mists of Pandaria </em>expansion</a>. There's no question in the halls of the (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/29/blizzard-cuts-600-employees-most-not-in-game-development/">recently quieter</a>) Blizzard campus in Irvine, California that the game is at a crossroads of sorts. Blizzard's formula for <em>WoW</em> expansions (define a baddie, and lead a player to gear and level up to the final fight) has worked so far, but it's almost as if the company realizes that the old tricks are getting old.<br /><br />Blizzard needs, then, to take <em>World of Warcraft</em>, one of history's most-played, most-traversed, and most-conquered games, and make it feel new. "This is definitely different fare from any expansion we've tried so far," VP of Creative Development Chris Metzen said in a presentation to assembled press. He then talked about the game on a much longer scale than a few weeks, a few months, or even a <em>Call of Duty</em>-length year. "The big global threat that's coming, to define the next couple years of <em>WoW</em>'s gameplay, is really war itself."<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-3-18-12/">World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (3/18/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-3-18-12/#4903562"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/wowmistsofpandaria28_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-3-18-12/#4903563"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/wowmistsofpandaria1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-3-18-12/#4903564"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/wowmistsofpandaria2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-3-18-12/#4903565"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/wowmistsofpandaria3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria-3-18-12/#4903566"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/wowmistsofpandaria4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/19/mists-of-pandaria-tries-to-breath-new-life-into-an-old-world-of/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mists of Pandaria tries to breathe new life into an old World of Warcraft</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/19/mists-of-pandaria-tries-to-breath-new-life-into-an-old-world-of/">Mists of Pandaria tries to breathe new life into an old World of Warcraft</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Mar 2012 03:00:00 EST. Get with the times, friend -- it's all about that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/07/new-ipad-announced-features-full-1080p-capable-screen/">new iPad</a> now. In other words, <em>Infinity Blade 2</em> looks <em>purtier</em>.<br /><br />Next month brings another <em>Infinity Blade 2 </em>update, adding new enemies, weapons and items, plus a new feature called ClashMob, in which players "work together to complete objectives and earn rewards." Smithing skill boosts now factor into forged item value, there's a "better transition" when going underwater, and a variety of bugs and glitches are addressed. The full patch notes are over on the Bethesda Blog.<br /><br />If you're a PC player, you can play a beta version of the 1.5 update on Steam right now. All you have to do is go into your settings tab and opt in through the client. It's kind of like an MMO, in that patching and re-balancing based on community input adds refinement and longevity to the platform. Namco Bandai seems to get this, as it'll be updating <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/soulcalibur-5"><em>SoulCalibur 5</em></a>'s ranked match matchmaking algorithms and character balance next Wednesday, March 21. Specifics on those balance changes are forthcoming, according to the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/SoulCalibur"><em>SC5</em> Facebook page</a>.<br /><br />The curators of the Stage of History have also announced that <em>SC5</em> will receive monthly costume DLC packs, the first of which will arrive on April 3 for the 360 and April 4 for the PS3. No word yet on costume pack pricing or content, but we've got a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/27/soulcalibur-5-dlc-lets-you-buy-bikinis-and-animal-heads-in-feb/">sneaking suspicion</a> that whatever we're expecting, we're probably <em>way off</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/soulcalibur-5-getting-balance-patch-march-21-monthly-costume-dl/">SoulCalibur 5 getting balance patch March 21, monthly costume DLC starting in April</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Mar 2012 15:10:00 EST. Early adopters can update their systems to firmware version 1.61, which adds a Maps application to the home screen, allows for video recording in the Photos application, and allows for any ratings you make in the PlayStation Store to appear on Facebook. Additionally, the Discoveries screen now lists up to 100 players, as well as the number of times they've been seen.<br /><br />The Content Manager Assistant app has been updated, and is available now both as a Windows and Mac download. Even if you've got version 1.60 already, you should make the jump to 1.61, as Sony says there are some systemwide performance improvements too. The latest firmware can be downloaded on the console over Wi-Fi, or can be updated from a PC or Mac with the Content Manager Assistant.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/20/ps-vita-1-61-adds-maps-app-video-recording-and-other-updates/">PS Vita 1.61 adds Maps app, video recording, and other updates</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Feb 2012 22:30:00 EST.
