We aren't going to beat around any bushes with this edition of Video Marketplace Weekly. The new release pickings are so slim, they're semi transparent and don't actually warrant the use of the word "they". "The" is a more appropriate term, because the only new release this week is Batman: Gotham Knight. Which, seeing that we're in a very Batman state of mind, isn't all that bad of a release. It's a holiday weekend where we're sure most of you will be out and about, enjoying the sunshine and warm Summer weather. But not all of you will. We know there's a select few (okay, about 76% of you) who will want to stay indoors and maybe rent a new movie release off the Video Marketplace. And really, that's not that bad of an idea. It's such a reasonable idea, that we've compiled a list of all the past week's new U.S. XBVM movie releases even though it isn't much of a list. There's actually only three releases this week which is sort of a bummer. But they're new new releases, so that kind of makes up for it. We'll keep you in suspense until you make it to the break, but we'll leave you with one final warning message. Do not, under any circumstances, rent this week's "Alternate Ending" movie. Stick with the original. Alternate endings only leave room for disappointment, sadness and anger.

Last week's massive list of new Xbox Video Marketplace releases was best described as massive, though the amount of actual good movies wasn't there. But this week it's a total flip flop. This week's U.S. XBVM only received seven new releases, but one of them is Sweeney Todd. A Johnny Depp movie, which means we whole heartily approve. Heck, this week there's even National Treasure for cheap, which too is a good movie (though there isn't an HD rental option). Wrapping up the week is another edition of Video Marketplace Weekly and we have another stack of new movie rentals available on the U.S. Video Marketplace. There are actually quite a few goodies this week including Batman Begins (which will prepare you for this Summer's blockbuster The Dark Knight) as well as a few random comedy and horror flicks. We also wanted to point you in the direction of the Gamerscore Blog's post about upcoming XBVM content that's set to release in March. Movie rentals including March of the Penguins, Training Day and Rain Man. Even more exciting is the fact that the highly anticipated Robot Chicken: Star Wars movie will be available March 4th, which is two months earlier than its DVD release. There's also going to be a free Lewis Black: Root of All Evil download in March and new episodes of South Park will be making their premiere. This week we aren't fooling around, there's just way too much new movie goodness on the U.S. Video Marketplace that we can't even concentrate. How much new movie goodness you ask? Try twenty-three new titles. Two three. Twenty-three. The reason for such an influx in new rentals is because this week MGM started offering their catalog of titles. Movies including Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Kingpin, WarGames and many others. Many being offered for as cheap as 240 Microsoft points per rental. We also get a taste of newly new releases including the Oscar worthy Michael Clayton and semi-disturbing Saw IV. It's a Video Marketplace Weekly that's so bloated full of new rental content, you may have to take an antacid for relief. Or you could just browse through this week's XBVM releases after the break. That should ease some of the indigestion.

We're just trucking along with our newish Video Marketplace Weekly feature and it's actually getting to the point where we enjoy digging up the information to divulge to our fellow movie loving fanboys. We aren't saying that it was a chore for us before, it's just that we've been inspired and have a new passion for Video Marketplace Weekly. She's so special.

So, let's get to it already. Making an appearance this week is a diverse selection of seven new films including The Game Plan, 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Valentine's inspired movies like Good Luck Chuck and Heartbreak Kid. We also came across an odd occurance that probably has happened before, but we just noticed it. We discovered that a few new releases are only available as HD downloads. Usually we see SD only downloads due to the nature of the medium, but releasing HD only is kinda odd. XBVM renters who are connected to a SD set are getting screwed a bit, paying more for a rental in which they can't utilize the extra pixels. Oh well, we're in a loving mood today and are willing to turn a blind eye to how unfair it all is. Enjoy this week's list of new U.S. Video Marketplace movie rentals after the break.

This, the second edition of Video Marketplace Weekly, is super duper special. So special, it'll make your heart beat erratically and make beads of sweat form on your brow. It's that good. But why is this week's edition so super duper special? Well, good question.

For one, this week's new U.S. Video Marketplace movie rentals are all top notch blockbusters. We're being treated to new release titles like 3:10 to Yuma, The Brave One and Mr. Brad Pitt's The Assassination of Jesse James. The other reason this edition of Video Marketplace Weekly is so super duper special is because we've re-organized, re-structured and re-formatted the layout of our information. Now, not only are all the new releases posted after the break, but we've included more information about each movie, added a link to last week's new releases and posted the Microsoft point to "real money" conversation rates that you demanded.
