We saved all of the pictures and videos from the games they had on display, and have combined them all into this one easy-to-carry blog post for your viewing pleasure.

It took a while to figure out a way to pack all of these games into the same place, but below, you'll find new screenshots from the gorgeous Rayman Legends, videos from Ghost Recon Online and the two upcoming Might and Magic titles, and more media from upcoming titles like Avengers: Battle For Earth and the upcoming ZombiU. We knew previously that the app would hit Vita by the end of June.

YouTube on Vita will play HD videos up to 720p, with the option to toggle between standard and HD. The app will have many standard YouTube features, including recommended videos, comments, history, favorites and the all-important "search" function.

Most importantly of all, the YouTube app will allow Vita users to access the shiny new Joystiq YouTube channel, revamped with new content, fresh videos and original features. We guess people on computers, using smartphones and browsing tablets can access the Joystiq channel, too, but can they do it while stroking the back of their screen? Well, yeah, but that would just look weird.
YouTube app goes live on Vita today for all your gaming-video needs originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 26 Jun 2012 19:30:00 EST. "What we're seeing is that people are turning on the Xbox to play games and then keeping it on afterwards to get other types of entertainment," Mehdi said.

The Xbox 360 isn't a gaming console; it's now officially an entertainment center that includes games, and it's becoming more popular with this angle. Today households spend an average of 84 hours a month playing games and using other apps on Xbox Live, up 30 percent from a year prior. To compare, the average household watches 150 hours of TV each month.

Even before Kinect, a tool that has always made more sense as an entertainment control rather than a gaming one, Microsoft has wanted the Xbox 360 to be "the heart of connected digital entertainment," as HBO senior vice president of consumer technology Otto Berkes put it.

Today Microsoft added MLB.TV, HBO GO and Comcast Xfinity TV apps to its lineup, which already includes Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Zune, Last.fm and others.
Xbox 360 used more for video and music apps than for gaming originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 27 Mar 2012 18:00:00 EST. Defend The House returns with episode number 5 of its delightful Halo: Reach Mythbusters series. This time around, it tackles such myths as destroying holograms with armor lock, protecting yourself from assault bomb explosions and -- perhaps coolest of all -- actually catching a rocket in an armor lock hold.

The gang also shows itself "wearing" powerups from the game, which is confirmed to be possible, although it's basically a glitch that the host can't actually do. Being as it's a glitch, you'll have to try that one at your own risk -- Bungie may not take kindly to it once discovered. It is probably good with the rocket catch, though, so do that one all you want. It's pretty awesome.
Continue reading 'Halo: Reach Mythbusters' tackles more myths in fifth episode

'Halo: Reach Mythbusters' tackles more myths in fifth episode originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 19 Jan 2011 06:00:00 EST. "It Only Does Everything," says the PS3's ad campaign. But how many users actually know how to take advantage of all of the system's features out of the box? With PS3 increasingly positioning itself as a be-all entertainment device, Sony is forced to confront the XMB's clutter of icons, which may be befuddling mainstream consumers.

PSN director Susan Panico told us that Sony is currently "creating educational videos that will be a great welcome kit for people that are coming to the PS3 and the PlayStation Network," which aim to "really walk them through all the advantages you get from the PlayStation Network," including the store. The videos "will answer questions like, 'How do I have Netflix movies stream on my PS3?' And it will certainly talk about original content available," Panico noted, referring to PSN productions like The Tester and Pulse. "That's something that's really important to us -- to make sure people understand from the get-go how to find all this great content."

While many of the details are still being ironed out, the how-to videos will appear both on the web and on the XMB. "Primarily, it's going to be content that you find very easily on PlayStation.com, as well as on the console itself," Panico said, though "we haven't decided where it's going to live on the XMB." Presumably, it'll be in a prime position, lest Sony find itself posting a "How to find the how-to videos" video.
How-to 'everything' videos coming to PS3 XMB originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 01 Nov 2010 13:30:00 EST. Activision revealed the Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer component at an event this evening in Los Angeles. We'll have a full preview later on, but first we'll just run you through the various features that Treyarch is adding to the latest iteration of Call of Duty.

Producers Dan Bunting and David Vanderhaar took the stage at the LA Coliseum to talk three pillars for the new CoD multiplayer game: "Compete, customize and create." Competition was the first element -- beyond the standard Call of Duty multiplayer elements, Treyarch has added a whole new mode called Combat Training, which brings AI opponents to the mix. Yes, bots have arrived in Call of Duty.
Continue reading Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer revealed at Activision event

Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer revealed at Activision event originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 01 Sep 2010 23:30:00 EST. Rockstar sent along videos showcasing each of the Red Dead Redemption pre-orders currently available, and we just can't decide which one to go with -- they all look so good. You can see all three of them over on the game's website. Pre-ordering from Amazon, you'll remember, will get you a Golden Guns pack, pre-ordering the game at GameStop will nab you the fan-selected Deadly Assassin Outfit and ordering the game from Best Buy will get you the War Horse, which you can see in the video above.
Wait a minute -- we just decided. We're totally going with the horsie. His name will be Roger and we will hug him and feed him and dodge explosions and shoot bad guys from his back and it will be the awesomest. Roger is the best horse ever. "Clicking out beats to the Mario tunes with disposable pens" sounds a lot less impressive and awesome than this video actually is, so you might as well go ahead and check the video after the break to watch for yourself. We can't help think that Shane has better things to do, but this is what the kids are up to nowadays, we guess. No more useless than pogs were back in the nineties, and a lot cheaper to boot.

A better question might be: Where can we get that T-shirt? Our extensive Google-searching turned up lots of great Mario shirts, but we couldn't find that one for sale. If you see it online, let us know in the comments below.
Update: Alas, the videos featured last night have been removed from YouTube due to a "copyright claim by Viacom." Sorry to everyone who missed them!

Update 2: As some of our commenters have smartly pointed out, all four of the removed videos are available legally through the official website for The Beatles: Rock Band.

Update 3: It seems as though even three of the four tracks have been removed from the official website for the game, and now only "Birthday" is available. Sorry again, folks!

There's nothing we like more than sitting back on a Sunday evening and listening to some good music. Tonight we're offering you the chance to listen along with us, with four tracks from The Beatles: Rock Band. Better yet, we've got the videos from the game as well for your viewing pleasure, just after the break.

While we're partial to the video for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band," who are we to go all willy nilly suggesting what you choose to enjoy? Kick off your slippers and get ready for sheep counting with a handful of Beatles music from us to you. Oh, and if it's your birthday, happy birthday to you.
inFamous is due out in around three months and we still haven't seen that much of it yet. These videos seek to change that by showing around eleven minutes of gameplay montage footage. It's looking good, if a bit samey. The platforming sections look like they're a lot of fun, though the combat seems like it could get a bit repetitive. We guess that'll depend on the full scope of Cole's powers. We suspect that the game's writing and story will make or break the experience. Check out all four videos after the break.

With yesterday's announcement that EA's very creepy, very good Dead Space would eventually make its way onto Wii, it seems the community has been left with nothing but questions. Well, we can't answer any of those questions right now, but we can present to you the next best thing: a video of someone playing the game with a Wiimote. This is it, folks. The final trailer you're going to see before Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers releases next week. If zombie slaughter, scantily clad ladies, and ridiculous dialogue interest you in the least, then you'll want to check this trailer out (we've embedded it after the break, as it's rated M). It has all of those things, not to mention big, bold text.

Continue reading GO DEEP INSIDE Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers

GO DEEP INSIDE Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 03 Feb 2009 18:00:00 EST. You already know what we're playing this weekend, but who has time for games when there's so much new stuff on the video store to watch. There are seven seasons worth of TV shows added alongside nineteen new movies. Our pick of the week? Probably Robot Chicken, because we like to laugh at crude animations. Here's the list of TV shows, films are listed after the break:

Burn Notice, Season 2

Crime 360, Season 1

Deadliest Catch, Season 3

Married with Children, Season 6

Miami Ink, Season 5

Most Shocking, Season 1

Robot Chicken, Season 3

Fancy a look at just a few of upcoming space-based survival horror Dead Space's weapons? Then you're in luck. GameTrailers has three videos, each showing one of the game's weapons in action. Our favorite? The Line Gun. Using it to slice through enemies looks extremely visceral and satisfying. Having said that we have a soft spot for the Pulse Gun's secondary fire too.

In reality, it's just an excuse to watch more gameplay footage, which we're always happy to do. Dead Space will be out in less than a month, so this is a perfect way to ramp up the hype a bit. The videos can be found after the cut.
Continue reading Meet some of the weapons of Dead Space

Meet some of the weapons of Dead Space originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 16 Sep 2008 09:15:00 EST.
It seems that even Ubisoft wants to know what an average day is like for our very own Ludwig Kietzmann. Is life in Africa really as crazy as he makes it out to be? Clint Hocking and his team have dedicated themselves to finding that out. They are going to great lengths to put players into Ludwig's shoes via a variety of immersion-enhancing elements in Far Cry 2, which Clint himself talks about in a brand-new video after the break.

As an added bonus, we've included a new, all-gameplay video of Sony's Afrika (Hakuna Matata outside of Japan) after the break as well, since Ludwig assures us that this game is also highly representative of his daily routine.

Bethesda has dropped a ... wait for it ... megaton of Fallout 3 walkthrough footage on PAX, and, thankfully for those who can't attend, GameTrailers has upped it for your post-apocalyptic viewing pleasure. There are five (count 'em five) videos showcasing Megaton, the Wasteland, Super-Duper Mart, and more after the break.
Continue reading PAX 2008: Fallout 3 video explosion, subsequent fallout

PAX 2008: Fallout 3 video explosion, subsequent fallout originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 29 Aug 2008 15:15:00 EST.
Every (other) week, Mike Sylvester brings you REVOLUTIONARY, a look at the wide world of Wii possibilities.

Segueing from last edition's topic: you've just built a sick Smash Bros. Brawl level, and you're ready to share it with the world. You upload it to your website and throw up some pics from the game's handy built-in photo mode. Everybody can see your creation without needing to first go through the trouble of downloading the level, putting it on an SD card, and loading it up on their Wii. Of course, your level looks like so much fun, they won't be able to resist trying it for themselves. But what if, like so many other games, there was no photo mode? How would you display your masterpiece? Or maybe seeing a still pic isn't enough to really sell the dynamics and spirit of your build. Then what? Read on as we delve into the art of video capture and photo composition -- for games!

Continue reading Revolutionary: Capturing the Moment

Revolutionary: Capturing the Moment originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 09 Apr 2008 09:45:00 EST.
If grainy low-res gameplay videos get you all hot and bothered under the collar, then you're in for quite a treat. IGN has posted four Secret Agent Clank videos that aren't exactly the prettiest we've ever seen, but they do show some more of what we can expect from the Clank's adventure, and it's pretty funny to see Ratchet get thrown into the "big house."

There's not much to say about this newly released developer walkthrough for Condemned 2: Bloodshot that the video doesn't tell you, with the exception that this game is going to kick much more ass than the previous game. Condemned 2's lead game designer, Frank Rook explains how the game's chain attacks work and shows the more in-depth forensic system.

Despite the fact that all the video is in the pre-beta stage, the game is already looking great, and we can't wait to see more.

Up until yesterday, the living room set-top box was simply a "hobby" for Apple; its fumbled Apple TV product did little to unseat the HD video rental download champ, the largely uncontested Xbox Live Video Marketplace. With a fresh splash of software for new boxes and a free upgrade for current users, Apple TV Take 2 is giving it another shot.

Of course, for an audience of gamers (that's us!), Apple's product has a particularly severe handicap but, on a strictly video entertainment scale, it manages to best the Xbox Live Video Marketplace in just about every category. Now we realize this is, in many ways, an apples to oranges comparison (sorry), but Microsoft isn't just competing for gamer dollars anymore and competition is growing (in fact, the at-home-rental set-top box industry will see another entrant later this year with Netflix).

To get to the bottom of which service provides the most bang for your e-buck, we ran some data through our handy-dandy (and patent pending!) Tabulator and it spit out the table found after the break. Be sure to let us know in the comments if there's anything <strike>we're</strike> it's missing.
Continue reading Tabulator: Xbox Live Video Marketplace vs. Apple TV

Tabulator: Xbox Live Video Marketplace vs. Apple TV originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 16 Jan 2008 20:00:00 EST.
Believe it or not, Capcom's Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is actually going to be the first PSP game released in 2008, and judging by everything we've seen up to this point, it could be everything Phoenix Wright fans and PSP owners have been waiting for.

However, some critics might argue it's more of an interactive cartoon than a full-on mystery/courtroom sim, but we won't know for sure until we get our hands on it when it releases Jan. 8. Either way, we're sure fans of the series will be in for a treat.

Continue reading Harvey Birdman video bonanza

Harvey Birdman video bonanza originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 04 Jan 2008 09:00:00 EST. However, all that may have grinded to a halt with this bizarre commercial recently released in Europe.

Although we've always thought the European's taste in just about everything is rather odd, this commercial raises that bar to an entirely new and utterly disturbing level. However, while most Sony commercials have always retained their oddity, they haven't always been bad. It's the end of the week. People are happy to be getting off work for the weekend. And so, we're less likely to get all the outraged "THIS ISN'T NEWS" comments. So please, sit back, relax, and enjoy these videos we have gathered for your enjoyment. First up is the Halo 3 video you see above. Oftentimes in the game, the only time we appreciate the physics engine is when you see your limp, dead body crumple to the ground. However, most objects have physics attached to them, including rockets and grenades. In fact, with proper timing (or incredible luck), a grenade can deflect a rocket. Watch it happen in the video above, and stick around for the surprise ending. We've got another Halo 3 video and a Team Fortress 2 video after the break.
Continue reading Video roundup: Halo 3 and TF2 goodness

Video roundup: Halo 3 and TF2 goodness originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 26 Oct 2007 16:00:00 EST. At times, it really feels like you're watching a movie as Nathan shoots, punches, climbs and jumps his way throughout the level.

Andrew noted the game has come a long way since its E3 showing, and we can certainly tell. The most exciting part is Naughty Dog still has nearly two months for some fine tuning before it's set to ship.
Watch Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's first level originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 30 Sep 2007 11:20:00 EST. When it was first unveiled, the consensus was, graphically, the title looked great, but no one really knew what the point of the game was.

This video will do nothing to better explain the game's gameplay, unless it involves taking voyeuristic photos of meercats and giraffes mating in their natural habitat or trying to run over endangered animals.

Who knows, though, we're sure there's a huge market for that kinda thing somewhere.
TGS07: Afrika still spelled wrong, beautiful as ever originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 20 Sep 2007 05:30:00 EST. It really does look like a painting has come to life.

While we would have loved to see some actual gameplay, there's no denying the game looks great. Let's just cross our fingers that Sega decides to ship this baby worldwide.
TGS07: Valkyrie of the Battlefield shows watercolors are still cool originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 20 Sep 2007 04:30:00 EST.
