Every new copy of <em>Starhawk</em> comes bundled with a free copy of <em>Warhawk (PSOne) </em>in Europe.<br /><br />It's part of the online pass voucher, which is visible on the back of the instruction booklet for <em>Starhawk</em>. Once you input the code and unlock online functionality, the original <em>Warhawk</em> will be added to your download list. Here in The States, however, you need to grab one of the first-run "limited editions" <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/07/starhawk-upgraded-to-limited-edition-at-gamestop-free-psone-war/">available exclusively at GameStop</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/09/starhawk-online-pass-grants-free-warhawk-download-in-europe/">Starhawk online pass grants free Warhawk download in Europe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 May 2012 23:15:00 EST. But these days it's essentially a feature, and one the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/starhawk"><em>Starhawk</em></a> is <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/03/21/starhawk-brings-back-splitscreen-head-to-head-and-co-op-multiplayer/">determined to do right</a>. The game will make use of empty screen space to provide a bigger and more detailed radar map than <em>Warhawk</em> did.<br /><br /><em>Starhawk</em> will also let two players sign in on one PS3, which means you and your friend can both get permanent credit for rewards while in the same game. Four-player splitscreen is also supported, but Sony says it wasn't used as much as expected in <em>Warhawk</em>, so that will be more standard.<br /><br />The game is out on May 8. Meanwhile, you can browse through pictures of co-op action and a few other shots from various parts of the game below.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starhawk-emmett-graves-single-player/">Starhawk (Emmett Graves - Single Player)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starhawk-emmett-graves-single-player/#4905193"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/emmett01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starhawk-emmett-graves-single-player/#4905194"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/emmett02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starhawk-emmett-graves-single-player/#4905195"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/emmett03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starhawk-emmett-graves-single-player/#4905196"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/emmett04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/22/starhawk-shows-off-improved-two-player-splitscreen-more/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Starhawk shows off improved two-player splitscreen, more</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/22/starhawk-shows-off-improved-two-player-splitscreen-more/">Starhawk shows off improved two-player splitscreen, more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Mar 2012 02:00:00 EST. Lightbox Interactive is hosting a private beta for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/starhawk">Starhawk</a> </em>in November, but with a twist -- this private beta will be selectively <em>public</em>. Lightbox will invite "a bunch of" dedicated <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/warhawk">Warhawk</a> </em>players to test out <em>Starhawk </em>this November, chosen by their rank in <em>Warhawk</em>, their community involvement and a few other undisclosed parameters, president Dylan Jobe said.<br />
<br />
The public private beta will include access to a secure SCEA forum for players to discuss the game and ask questions of the Lightbox team, who will also post their PSN handles and be available for voice chat in-beta. If you're a <em>Warkhawk </em>beast with a clean record, look for an email with an invite soon.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/22/starhawk-launching-a-semi-public-private-beta-for-warhawk-vetera/">Starhawk launching a semi-public private beta for Warhawk veterans in November</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 22 Oct 2011 02:30:00 EST. You've <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/13/starhawk-preview/">read about it</a> -- now see <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/warhawk">Warhawk</a>'s </em>successor, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/starhawk">Starhawk</a>,</em> in action in this developer video featuring LightBox Interactive boss Dylan Jobe. Using plenty of gameplay footage, he breaks down the new universe, "build and battle" strategy elements and, of course, transforming jets -- er, Hawks.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/13/starhawk-gameplay-footage-highlights-build-and-battle-features/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Starhawk gameplay footage highlights 'build and battle' features</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/13/starhawk-gameplay-footage-highlights-build-and-battle-features/">Starhawk gameplay footage highlights 'build and battle' features</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 May 2011 15:30:00 EST. PlayStation Home hasn't forgotten about you, avid <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a> fan. It may have been years since the multiplayer PSN game released, but its community is still going strong. If you're still obsessed with taking to the skies, you may want to plunk down some cash on the <em>Warhawk</em> Apartment, which features a Sand Table that lets you strategize. Even cooler, it also includes a co-op shooter that lets you take down flying bogeys.<br />
<br />
That's not the only thing to grace Home tomorrow. For more details on tomorrow's update, check out the PlayStation.Blog. Check out a trailer after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/10/warhawk-personal-space-coming-to-playstation-home/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Warhawk personal space coming to PlayStation Home</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/10/warhawk-personal-space-coming-to-playstation-home/">Warhawk personal space coming to PlayStation Home</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Feb 2010 23:00:00 EST. Sony Computer Entertainment America recently staked claim to two intriguing video game monikers at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The first title, <a href="http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&amp;entry=77709921"><em>Dominion</em></a>, is <em>definitely</em> a code name for the reboot of the <em>Crash Bandicoot </em>franchise we've been waiting on for so long. Or, possibly, a new <em>God of War</em>. Or, perhaps, a mash-up of the two franchises. <em>Fine</em>, we have <em>absolutely no idea</em> what <em>Dominion</em> is -- but if it turns out to be <em>God of Bandicoot</em>, remember that we totally called it.<br /><br />The second trademarked title, <a href="http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&amp;entry=77710890"><em>Starhawk</em></a>, might actually lend some credence to rumors of an upcoming <a href="http://kotaku.com/5176896/warhawk-in-spaaaaaace">space-themed follow-up</a> to <em>Warhawk </em>which we heard last month. See, they replaced "War" with "Star," which is a celestial body that can be found in <em>space</em>. Don't feel too bad for not catching it. That kind of journalistic sleuthing is the reason we get paid the <em>big bucks</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/96059083">super</a><a href="http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/96059537">annuation</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/14/scea-registers-trademarks-for-starhawk-and-dominion/">SCEA registers trademarks for 'Starhawk' and 'Dominion'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 Apr 2009 11:41:00 EST. Resum&eacute; watchers Superannuation, spotted an interesting mention on concept artist John Duggan's profile: Concept art for a <a href="http://home.comcast.net/%7Ejohn.m.duggan/John_Duggan_5Draw22_VehicleDes.htm">PlayStation <em>Warhawk</em> sequel</a>. In his three-year stint (1996-1999) at Sony's (now-defunct) <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/989_Studios">989 Studios</a>, Duggan worked on a number of unreleased projects, one of which was <em>Warhawk 2</em>.<br /> <br /> Concept art listed on his profile (pictured above) paint a very different picture for the planned sequel's visual style in comparison to what eventually became Incognito's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Warhawk/">Warhawk</a></em> on the PlayStation 3. Sure, <em>Warhawk</em> is a lot of fun now... but imagine if you could <em>pimp into battle</em> with a flying version of <em><a href="http://twitpic.com/30oge">The Homer</a></em> or Spider-style hawk that would make <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgYhLIThTvk">Jon Peters proud</a>. If you consider yourself to be a veteran <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a> player, then you might want to check out <a href="http://myhawk.org/">MyHawk.org</a>. The fan site, in collaboration with developer Incognito, tracks in-game <em>Warhawk</em> stats and has just undergone a major update which added in new stat features such as: "clan matches &amp; tournaments, daily leaderboards, new graphs, per-weapon stats, stats on individual games, [and] game calendar." <br /><br />The game's director, Dylan Jobe, revealed on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/03/myhawkorg-by-the-players-for-the-players/">PlayStation Blog</a> that this is all possible because of a little experimental XML feed. The XML feed streams raw <em>Warhawk </em>data, which any community -- not just MyHawk -- can get access to. Jobe calls it the "democratization of the player community." That means if you run a <em>Warhawk </em>community and want access to the global feed, Jobe says to "hit the <em>Warhawk</em> <a href="http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board?board.id=warhawk">forums</a> and post your info."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/03/incognito-myhawk-collaborate-on-warhawk-stat-tracking/">Incognito, MyHawk collaborate on Warhawk stat tracking</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 16:30:00 EST. The game will be available for $19.99, $10 off the regular price. In addition, each booster pack will be available for $4.99 each. You can score all three booster packs for just $9.99. <em>Warhawk</em> fans that haven't jumped into the expansion content will want to take advantage of this limited-time-only pricing.<br /><br />Stay tuned for today's PlayStation Store update for the price drop. <div align="left">PlayStation <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/home">Home</a>'s new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a> Game Space goes live today -- but is it really everything a dedicated fan of the game could ask for? The answer is, "No, not yet." <br /><br />Beyond its unique aesthetics, the space is functionally similar to those for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/uncharted-and-warhawk-home-spaces-snapshots/"><em>Uncharted</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/16/far-cry-2-is-in-ur-home-eating-ur-dinnerz/"><em>Far Cry 2</em></a>, with one notable exception: the <em>Warkhawk</em> Sand Table. This piece of interactive furniture is something we've seen in various stages of development and, on paper, is a pretty cool concept. It's a place to plan in-game strategies using "VR" set-pieces -- vehicles, maneuver icons, etc. -- which can be moved around on 2D versions of any of the game's maps (and their variants).<br /><br />The first person to access the table is in control. Here's where one of the problems arises: anyone can walk up and watch as you plan your "secret" strategy. Furthermore, there's no way to share or use the finished battle plan within the game. It's all up to each player's memory (or notepad). <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warhawk-game-space-home/">Warhawk Game Space (Home)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warhawk-game-space-home/#1387027"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/home-warhawk-room-2-2252009-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warhawk-game-space-home/#1387028"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/home-warhawk-sand-table-2252009-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warhawk-game-space-home/#1387029"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/home-warhawk-room-3-2252009-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warhawk-game-space-home/#1387030"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/home-warhawk-san-table-3-2252009-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warhawk-game-space-home/#1387031"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/home-warhawk-sand-table-2-2252009-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> </div>

The "Warhawk Command Center" will be added to PlayStation Home this week, confirmed Sony during today's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@destination-playstation-09/">Destination PlayStation</a> event. This is one of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/27/home-integration-for-resistance-uncharted-and-warhawk-sounds-awes/">first game spaces</a> to have been revealed for Home -- we're glad to see it finally going live.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/home-game-spaces-e3-2008/">Home Game Spaces E3 2008</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/home-game-spaces-e3-2008/#933998"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/homeunchartedspace31024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Uncharted Game Space" title="Uncharted Game Space" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/home-game-spaces-e3-2008/#933994"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/homeunchartedspace81024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Uncharted Game Space" title="Uncharted Game Space" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/home-game-spaces-e3-2008/#933993"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/homeunchartedspace41024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Uncharted Game Space" title="Uncharted Game Space" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/home-game-spaces-e3-2008/#933990"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/homeunchartedspace91024-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Uncharted Game Space" title="Uncharted Game Space" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/home-game-spaces-e3-2008/#933989"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/07/homeunchartedspace21024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Uncharted Game Space" title="Uncharted Game Space" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/warhawk-game-space-hits-home-this-week/">Warhawk game space hits Home this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Feb 2009 12:08:00 EST. <p>A majority of the Trophies in <span style="font-style: italic;">Warhawk</span> simply involve playing the game for a long time. As you level up, you'll unlock the in-game medals which will in turn unlock Trophies. If you want an easy time getting all the Trophies, grab a second player to help you out. It's cheating, yes. As <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/05/warhawk-trophy-patch-goes-online-aug-27/">promised</a>, Sony and Incognito have rolled the latest <em>Warhawk</em> update out of its hanger, prompting a mandatory install once you start the game. Major additions for version 1.5 of the game include much-anticipated <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/trophies">PlayStation Trophies</a> (57 of them, with a good mix of gold, silver, bronze, and "mystery offerings") and support for custom music via the in-game XMB. <br /><br />We've just installed the patch and are firing up a match with Hanson's "MMMBop" on full blast! Sure, the update's no new-map-and-rocket-packs gala like the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/25/warhawk-fallen-star-expansion-aug-28-7-99/">upcoming <em>Fallen Star</em> booster pack</a> - which hits tomorrow - but it's nevertheless another nice show of <em>free </em>support for a still very popular, ever-expanding game.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/27/warhawk-update-1-5-live-adds-trophies-custom-music-support/">Warhawk update 1.5 live; adds Trophies, custom music support</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 27 Aug 2008 15:00:00 EST. <em>Warhawk</em> has once again been patched up with more free goodies. Simply load up the game and you will be asked to download the 66MB 1.50 patch. At the moment we can only confirm this for Europe, but a US patch should also be made available today, if it's not already. In case you've forgotten what version 1.50 adds to the game (you big sillies), let us refresh your memory.<br /><br />A new training mode, to get people used to the game, custom soundtracks and trophies are the main new features, but there's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/11/more-warhawk-v1-5-update-details/">plenty more besides</a>. Not bad for free, eh? So get downloading and don't forget to check out our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/trophies-warhawk/">trophy list</a>. We'll update this post once we get confirmation that the patch is out in the US.<br /><br /><strong>[UPDATE]</strong> The patch is also available in the US. The team at Incognito has been expanding the <em>Warhawk</em> universe in quite a number of ways, with three expansion packs, various free patches and tutorials for beginner players. While the <em>Warhawk</em> community seems rather healthy, it appears that Incognito is going to go another step further: it looks to be making a downloadable demo available in the future. An impromptu Q&amp;A developed on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/08/25/warhawk-operation-fallen-star/comment-page-2/#comments">PlayStation.blog</a>, with one reader asking Dylan Jobe about the possibilitiy of a demo. "What about a demo of sorts? A game like this won't ever see my purchase if I can't even try it out."<br /><br />To that, Jobe responds: "We're on it." Considering this is an online-only title, how would a <em>Warhawk</em> demo even work? Would there simply be a server dedicated to demo-only players? Or will, it be a time-limited offering? Guess we'll find out whenever <em>Warhawk</em>'s better-late-than-never demo appears.<br /><br />[Thanks, Kyle!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/25/its-never-too-late-warhawk-demo-may-be-in-the-works/">It's never too late: Warhawk demo may be in the works</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Aug 2008 23:00:00 EST. Following the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/gc-2008-psn-lineup-reveals-warhawk-expansion-savage-moon/">Leipzig unveiling</a>, Incognito has dated, priced and detailed, in painstaking, um, <span style="font-style: italic;">detail</span>, the third <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk/">Warhawk</a> expansion pack, <em>Operation: Fallen Star</em>. An update on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/08/25/warhawk-operation-fallen-star/">PlayStation.Blog</a> has the exhaustive breakdown, but let's scroll down to the good part: "<em>Operation: Fallen Star</em> is being released on August 28th worldwide [this Thursday!] and is $7.99 in the PlayStation Store." In addition, a new "Booster Combo Pack" will combine all three <em>Warhawk</em> expansions into a tidy $15.99 download, making the complete <em>Warhawk</em> experience just $46 through the PS Store.<br /><br />And, in case you missed it, we've embedded an encore presentation of the <em>Fallen Star</em> trailer after the break. As revealed at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/warhawk-operation-fallen-star-expansion-pack-official-details/">Leipzig</a>, <em>Warhawk Operation: Fallen Star</em> is coming this week. A new update on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/08/25/warhawk-operation-fallen-star/">PlayStation.blog </a>confirms a few new details: like the 30 new map configurations, many of which accommodate the new jetpack. "In total there are 10 new layouts for Tau Crater and since the jetpack is a massive, game-changing addition to <em>Warhawk</em>, we included a crap-ton of bonus layouts for the original game too - there are 30 bonus layouts that add jetpacks into the <em>Warhawk</em>'s original content."<br /><br />The jetpack looks fairly intuitive to control, from its description. Like piloting a Warhawk, the shoulder buttons are key to maintaining and controlling your altitude. To prevent everyone from having a jetpack at the same time, the stations which provide the jetpacks will have some "construction time" to space out the availability of new jetpacks.<br /><br />The <em>Fallen Star</em> expansion will cost $8, but a new bundle that features all three expansions will be available for $16. "That's like getting all 3 Booster-Packs for the price of only 2!!!" For those that are recent additions to the <em>Warhawk</em> world (thanks to its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/playstation-3-greatest-hits-lineup-announced/">Greatest Hits</a> price), this new bundle is certainly a good way of adding a lot of content to the game.<br /><br />[Thanks, AlterEgo!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/25/warhawk-operation-fallen-star-available-for-8-this-week/">Warhawk Operation: Fallen Star available for $8 this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Aug 2008 11:10:00 EST. Sony packed a suitcase full of PSN titles for its trip to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/leipzig-08">Leipzig</a>, with at least one new face emerging from the bag: <span style="font-style: italic;">Savage Moon</span>. Sony describes the game as "classic tower strategy" with a catch ... it's in space! Players are assigned to protect a planetary outpost that's being overrun by "gigantic, ravenous space bugs" (true story). You know the drill: plop towers in the most ideal positions to handle the infestation and convert kill points into better weapons.<br /> <br />In addition, more details about the third <span style="font-style: italic;">Warhawk</span> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/12/next-warhawk-update-is-good-news-for-newbs/">expansion</a> have been released. Dubbed, <span style="font-style: italic;">Operation: Fallen Star</span>, the premium add-on introduces a forested location, Tau Crater, where, sure enough, some "experimental technology" is recovered from a crashed Chernovan warship: Jetpacks! The booster pack also includes 10 new battlefields. (A coinciding free update will add two new game modes and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/trophies">Trophies</a>).<br /><br /> We've posted the debut trailer for <span style="font-style: italic;">Operation: Fallen Star</span> along with the complete Games Convention 2008 PSN lineup after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/savage-moon/">Savage Moon</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/savage-moon/#988915"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/save-moon-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/savage-moon/#988914"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/save-moon-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/savage-moon/#988913"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/save-moon-09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/savage-moon/#988912"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/save-moon-08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/savage-moon/#988911"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/save-moon-06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/gc-2008-psn-lineup-reveals-warhawk-expansion-savage-moon/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GC 2008: PSN lineup reveals Warhawk expansion, Savage Moon</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/gc-2008-psn-lineup-reveals-warhawk-expansion-savage-moon/">GC 2008: PSN lineup reveals Warhawk expansion, Savage Moon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Aug 2008 16:00:00 EST. <p> The third expansion pack for the PSN-exclusive <em>Warhawk</em> is coming by month's end. <em>Operation Fallen Star</em> introduces Tau Crater, a remote, forested level that is the site of a crashed Chernovan warship containing experimental technology. This new pack adds the Infrantry Jetpack and ten new battlefields, most likely variations of the Tau Crater level. Of course, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/11/more-warhawk-v1-5-update-details/">free summer update</a> will add a few new features, not forgetting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/trophies">Trophies</a>.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/warhawk-operation-fallen-star-expansion-pack-official-details/">Warhawk: Operation: Fallen Star expansion pack official details</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Aug 2008 15:30:00 EST. <div align="left">What you're looking at in that there screen is something that addresses one of the chief complaints about Sony's ever-expanding online shooter, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a>: a training mode. After all, with no single-player campaign or bots to speak of, new purchasers basically get dropped into the fray with more skilled opponents, left to fend for themselves. For the forthcoming v1.5 patch, developer Incognito is introducing - among many other things - four tutorial missions, each focusing on a specific gameplay style.<br /><br />According to a <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/08/11/warhawk-v15-update-%E2%80%9Cfree-never-gets-old%E2%80%9D/">PlayStation Blog update</a> by <em>Warhawk</em> director Dylan Jobe, completing these scenarios will unlock Trophies - a whole slew of which are also being added in the update. Along with these will be custom soundtrack support (which, when playing your own tracks, automagically mutes the game's score - nice!), new ship paint schemes, more insignias, and a clearer designation for "rookie" servers. The dev team is also tossing in special "ceremonial blades" for <em>Warhawk</em> players who participated in the <a href="http://www.ggl.com/index.php?controller=Channel&amp;method=view&amp;channel=790">Global Gaming League team event</a>, which wrapped on July 27.<br /><br />In concluding his address to the <em>Warhawk</em> nation, Jobe teases the next Booster Pack, dropping a hint: "With one of these equipped, a soldier can escape quickly ... even bail out if needed!" Jetpacks, anyone?<br /><br /></div>

Last week, we already provided you with a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/trophies-warhawk/">list of trophies</a> and a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/05/first-warhawk-trophies-revealed-patch-release-on-august-27/">release date of August 27th</a> for Europe -- it now appears the date will apply to the US as well. Other updates will include:<br /></div>
<ul>
    <li>Custom in-game music confirmed once again. </li>
    <li>Training tutorials -- 4 offline tutorials for "newbies" to the game, focusing "on the core principals of each of the 3 modes of gameplay: Infantry, Ground Vehicles and Aircraft." The fourth tutorial, Flight Practice, will have players destroying as many attack drones as possible in 3 minutes. Completing these tutorials will result in a trophy. </li>
    <li>Clan leaders will now have the ability to retract a clan invite. </li>
    <li>20 new paint schemes and 50 new insignias. </li>
    <li>Participants of the GGL tournament will receive a in-game GGL-Ceremonial Knife. The winners of the tournament will receive a Champion's Blade. </li>
    <li>Green servers will be designated for rookies only. </li>
    <li>Jobe hints at a jetpack for the next Booster Pack with a promise of more information to come at Leipzig.</li>
    <li>Some exploits and issues were fixed. Read Jobe's <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/08/11/warhawk-v15-update-%e2%80%9cfree-never-gets-old%e2%80%9d/#more-1120on.Blog">post</a> for more details.</li>

As it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/sony-lists-first-trophy-supported-ps3-games/2">foretold</a>, the time of <em>Warhawk</em>'s Trophy patch is almost upon us. <a href="http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/news/articles/detail/item115001/The-spoils-of-Warhawk/">Sony Europe</a> announced that patch 1.5 will be available for the online game beginning August 27. We've yet to hear word from Sony America about a North American release date, but if it's anything like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/04/uncharted-trophies-discovered-in-europe/">yesterday's <em>Uncharted</em> patch</a>, the updates should hopefully occur on the same day.<br /><br />Trophies in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk">Warhawk</a></em> will be conceptually divided into four categories: Community Building, Game Mode, Vehicle and Warhawk Weapons. Although there are no details, some achievements will work retroactively. There will also be separate awards for the expansion sets and, <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/07/14/jobe-details-warhawk-update-v1-5-and-trophy-support/">according to Warhawk Game Director Dylan Jobe</a>, the platinum Trophy will not require the purchase of those extra sets. If Trophies are what clinch the deal to buy <em>Warhawk</em>, remember that the game is now available at a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/playstation-3-greatest-hits-buyers-guide/">"greatest hits" price of $30</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/08/05/first-warhawk-trophies-revealed-patch-release-on-august-27/">PS3 Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/05/warhawk-trophy-patch-goes-online-aug-27/">Warhawk Trophy patch goes online Aug 27</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Aug 2008 09:30:00 EST. Did you hear that? That's the sound of you unlocking another Trophy. With <em>PixelJunk Eden</em> and <em>Uncharted</em>'s recent patch, Trophies have been on the minds of PlayStation fans everywhere. Well, here's some more good news: popular online multiplayer game, <em>Warhawk</em>, will be sporting Trophies by the end of this month. <a href="http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/news/articles/detail/item115001/The-spoils-of-Warhawk/">SCEE</a> reports that patch 1.5 will release on August 27th (we're assuming a global release, a la <em>Uncharted</em>).<br /><br />There will be over 50 Trophies to collect, depending on the number of expansion packs you have installed with the game. Hopefully, Dylan Jobe is keeping <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/jobe-details-warhawk-update-v1-5-and-trophy-support/">his word</a> about the Platinum Trophy: you should be able to get it without having any of the expansions.<br /><br />Also, SCEE reports that the game will get in-game music support with this update as well. That's an impressive patch, no? See details on the various Trophies and features <a href="http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/news/articles/detail/item115001/The-spoils-of-Warhawk/">here</a>.<br /><br />[Thanks, DeforMAKulizer!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/05/first-warhawk-trophies-revealed-patch-release-on-august-27/">First Warhawk trophies revealed, patch release on August 27</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Aug 2008 08:18:00 EST. <p>With <em>Warhawk</em> now available for $30 at retail and on PSN, there's bound to be a slew of new players entering the game. Thankfully, Brady Games and the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/07/29/warhawk-tips-for-beginnerssalute-to-experts/">PlayStation.Blog</a> have teamed up to create this beginner's tutorial video, showcasing all the tricks and tips any n00b will need to know. This video will help players get a grasp on flying, and will give a few hints on how to survive on the incredibly competitive <em>Warhawk</em> battlegrounds. Perhaps these tips will come in handy if you're trying to unlock all of <em>Warhawk</em>'s Trophies ... whenever they come.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/video-tutorial-teaches-you-how-to-play-warhawk/">Video tutorial teaches you how to play Warhawk</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 07:00:00 EST. Dylan Jobe reiterated some points we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/warhawk-trophies-and-patches-detailed-new-booster-hinted/">touched on previously</a>, but also had a very strong statement that is sure to please <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk/"><em>Warhawk</em></a> fans: "To earn the <em>Warhawk </em>Platinum Trophy, all you have to do is unlock the base game's 44 Trophies...you do *NOT* have to buy any DLC to unlock the Platinum <em>Warhawk</em> Trophy. Forcing players to buy our DLC would be super-craptastic and completely unacceptable." That should calm all you hardcore <em>Warhawk </em>players.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/jobe-details-warhawk-update-v1-5-and-trophy-support/">Jobe says Warhawk platinum trophy needs no purchased DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Jul 2008 19:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk/"><em>Warhawk</em></a> update v1.4 will hit exactly at 10am GMT (3am PST) on July 16 with quite an amazing lineup of content, including two completely free gameplay modes: "Hero" and "Collection." In Hero mode, an "Epic Hero" is randomly chosen to lead their team to victory; teams gain points by either killing an enemy hero, or killing enemies as the hero. Collection is described by Dylan Jobe as "multi-flag CTF [note CTF = capture the flag]. There are four energy cores scattered around the map, generally positioned in the center or between the two team's main bases. Each team has a Reactor where Energy Cores are taken to score points."<br /><br />Other such additions include a Quick-join feature which scans for a perfect match based on your preferences, an updated mini-map, changes to Rank &amp; Awards requirements, Minimum Rank server option, update on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/home/"><em>Home</em></a> game launching, plus tons more. Two retail print ads have shown what appears to be three PlayStation 3 titles getting the "Greatest Hits" treatment. The trio shouldn't be surprising: <em>Resistance, Motorstorm </em>and <em>Warhawk. </em>A <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/352/">Kmart print ad</a> shows box art with a red banner reading "Greatest Hits," while a <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/photos/us-greatest-hits-ad/916460/full/">Circuit City ad</a> shows the same three games, sans new packaging, for $30. (You can tell it's the most recent ad since <em>Soul Calibur IV</em> is mentioned as coming out this week.) We expect an official announcement at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/09/sonys-e3-2008-press-conference-lets-play-bingo/">Sony's press conference</a> this week at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2008">E3 2008</a>.<em><br /><br /></em>[Via <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/07/12/possibly-even-more-greatest-hits-confirmation-prices/">PS3 Fanboy</a>]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/photos/us-greatest-hits-ad/916460/full/">Source</a> - Circuit City ad<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/352/">Source</a> - Kmart ad <img src="file:///Users/Blogspace/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/moz-screenshot.jpg" alt="" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/13/print-ads-hint-at-ps3-greatest-hits-resistance-motorstorm-war/">Print ads hint at PS3 greatest hits: Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 13 Jul 2008 17:00:00 EST. Passed on to us by Sony's Harvard Bonin, we found out some <a href="http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=warhawk&amp;thread.id=636957">interesting notes</a> on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk/"><em>Warhawk</em></a> trophies from game director Dylan Jobe: "there has been some talk about <em>Warhawk</em> trophies super-auto-magically going LIVE late tonight when the firmware is released. This is not the case." This all means, in a nut shell, trophies for <em>Warhawk</em> won't be ready upon 2.40's release and, in fact, for quite awhile -- read on. <br /><br />As we've mentioned previously in our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/everything-you-need-to-know-about-firmware-2-40/">firmware 2.40 guide</a>, games released prior to 2.40 (such as <em>Warhawk</em>) will have to be patched. So, the big question is: when will the <em>Warhawk</em> v1.4 patch hit? Now here is where things get a little funny; trophy support will not be found in v1.4 but, as Jobe states, will be found in the v1.5 patch. Neither v1.4 nor v1.5 have fixed released dates, but Jobe sounds very sure that both will be seen "very very very" soon. <br /> <br />To give us something to look forward to, Jobe details that <em>Warhawk </em>will have 56 trophies set up in v1.5. Ten will be based off "current stats/rank/awards system" and can be retroactively attained. 34 trophies are entirely new and based off the core gameplay, which ultimately means happy hunting for you. The last 12 are set aside as booster pack-specific awards. With four per booster, and only two booster packs currently released (<em>Omega Dawn</em> and <em>Broken Mirror</em>), it sounds like to us that a third booster will be ready in time for v1.5.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/warhawk-trophies-and-patches-detailed-new-booster-hinted/">Warhawk trophies and patches detailed, new booster hinted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Jul 2008 22:07:00 EST. We all enjoy value and convenience, and a new report suggests that Sony will offer both sometime down the line by bundling the earlier released <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk">Warhawk</a> </em>expansions, <em>Omega Dawn</em> and <em>Operation Broken Mirror</em>, together as a single download over <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psn/">PSN</a>.<br /><br />A release date for the descriptively titled <em>Warhawk Combo Pack</em> has not been announced. However, while we're left guessing what price the twofer will carry in North America, CVG reports that players in Europe can expect to pay just &pound;4.99 for the bundle, a paltry sum considering each alone sold for &pound;3.99 originally. We expect North American pricing to be announced soon, giving those players who have held off reason to dive in whenever the combo eventually comes in for a landing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/05/sony-bundling-warhawk-expansions-as-single-dlc/">Sony bundling Warhawk expansions as single DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Jun 2008 12:55:00 EST. SCEE has announced today that the two currently existing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a> booster packs, <em>Operation: Omega Dawn</em> and <em>Operation: Broken Mirror</em> will be combined into a low-cost bundle this month. There's nothing more specific than a "June" release date, but the two add-on packs together will cost you only &pound;4.99 (Euro price unknown, though we estimate around &euro;7.99). Currently these can both be bought separately for &pound;3.99/&euro;5.99, so if you wait it out (and why wouldn't you, if you haven't picked them up by now?) you'll be saving a few quid. Definitely worth the price, if you ask us.<br /><br />[Via Press Release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/04/warhawk-add-on-bundle-coming-to-europe-this-month/">Warhawk add-on bundle coming to Europe this month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Jun 2008 16:00:00 EST. Online tournament organizer GGL has partnered with Sony to deliver an official <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warhawk"><em>Warhawk</em></a> tournament with some exciting prizes. Unfortunately, the prizes are only available to US citizens, but "<em>Warhawk</em> players from anywhere in the world are welcome to join open competition ladders on <a href="http://www.ggl.com/groups/warhawk_game_group">GGL's Warhawk Game Group</a>" There's a practice ladder running right now, which will be reset when the official ladder opens on May 27th. This will give those of you who are a bit rusty the chance to shake off the cobwebs and get back to grips with the game.<br /><br />The tournament is team based and is therefore probably better to play with people who you work well with. However, if you don't have any <em>Warhawk </em>playing friends, or need to bolster your team numbers a bit, you can find new team mates in GGL's "Find/Form a Squad" forum. <br /><br />On the 29th of June the top 32 teams in the ladder will go on to the Elimination Bracket, where they will whittled down to a single winning team. That team will take home Limited Edition <em>Warhawk</em> statues (worth about $50) as well as an exclusive in-game item -- the Champion's Blade. This "replaces the knife weapon in game and looks completely different so that everyone you encounter will know you won the tournament."<br /><br />Check out <a href="http://www.ggl.com/index.php?controller=Channel&amp;method=view&amp;channel=790">the website</a> for more details and to sign up. Good luck!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/19/ggl-announces-official-warhawk-tournament/">GGL announces official Warhawk tournament</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 May 2008 08:00:00 EST. Don't forget a load of content also went up on Tuesday, when the store launched. We're glad to see the PSN Store getting content again. Don't forget we've listed all the yummy new <span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band</span> downloadable content after the break. So what will your first purchase be? <span style="font-style: italic;">GT5:P</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Operation Broken Mirror</span> or "Still Alive"?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/american-psn-update-for-april-17th/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>American PSN update for April 17th</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/american-psn-update-for-april-17th/">American PSN update for April 17th</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Apr 2008 14:15:00 EST. The second of this week's PSN Store updates is already up. While it's a little slimmer than the one <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/15/european-psn-update-for-april-15th/">earlier this week</a> everything on the list below is worth grabbing. Especially as it's mostly all <em>free</em>. The only thing that isn't free is the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Warhawk/">Warhawk</a></em> expansion, but we're sure you won't mind shelling out a few measly quid for that. Here's the full release list for today:<br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mgo"><em>Metal Gear Online</em></a> public Beta (free)</li>
    <li><em>Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror</em> expansion pack (&pound;3.99/&euro;5.99)</li>
    <li><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LAIR/">LAIR</a></em> "Deadly Dragons" add-on (free)</li>
    <li><em>Grand Theft Auto 4</em> "Everyone's a rat" trailer (free)</li>
</ul>
Don't forget that while the <em>MGO </em>Beta client is available now, the servers won't be open for business until April 21st. In the meantime you can sign up for a <a href="http://id.konami.net/">Konami ID</a> and make sure you're ready to start playing as soon as possible. We know the next four days are going to be going pretty slowly for you, so why don't you try out <em>Operation Broken Mirror</em> to take your mind off it?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/european-psn-update-for-april-17th/">European PSN update for April 17th</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Apr 2008 07:15:00 EST.
