The masterful music emanating from the Wii Shop Channel is quite obviously the greatest composition in the <em>history of the universe</em>, its infectious melody gripping you like a malfunctioning elevator door. Though you may be sprawled across a couch with a limp wrist interacting with the screen, this tantalizing tune will transfer you to a store populated by charming 8-bit sprites that move about in an eerie, staccato manner. <br /><br />Just moments after entering, the song will have wormed its way into your brain and taken control of your vocal chords. You're humming along, you're bobbing your head and you are <em>happy. </em>The happiest you've ever been in your entire life. Why not spread the joy and <strike>infect</strike> delight others with it? Refer them to <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=z2509fk1j8o">this Youtube video</a> (depicting the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/27/todays-hottest-game-video-wii-browser-shop-hack/">infamous browser hack</a>) and tell them to shut up. Shut up and <em>listen</em>.<br /><br />(By the way, could we have some remixes?)<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ps3delight">PS3 delights</a> vs. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ps3annoy">PS3 annoyances</a><br /> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiidelight">Wii delights</a> vs. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiiannoy">Wii annoyances</a><br /> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/360delight">Xbox 360 delights</a> vs. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/360annoy">Xbox 360 annoyances</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/05/its-so-catchy-wii-delight-003/">It's so catchy! Because you will.<br /><br />It's no secret that <em>Wii Sports</em> can be played with slight flicks of the wrist, while the rest of your body sits slumped against the couch. But what happens when you stand up and put some <em>umph</em> into the forearm; a little finesse into your swing; a little swagger in your at-bat; some force behind that punch? What happens is fun (at the expense of your <em>cool</em>).<br /><br />We recently baited over some folk (not pictured) with the promise of PlayStation 3 -- they ended up staying for <em>Wii Sports</em>. Nintendo's pack-in won't hold the attention of the solitary gamer, but it can command a small party, especially when the drinks are flowing. What are your plans for Friday night?<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiidelight">Wii delights</a> vs. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiiannoy">Wii annoyances</a><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ps3delight">PS3 delights</a> vs. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ps3annoy">PS3 annoyances</a><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/360delight">Xbox 360 delights</a> vs. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/360annoy">Xbox 360 annoyances</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/21/losing-your-inhibition-wii-delight-002/">Losing your inhibition (Wii delight #002)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Nov 2006 23:15:00 EST. The little speaker in each and every Wii remote is a tiny addition that goes a long way to making games more fun and engaging.<br /><br />Sure, the sound quality is horribly low-fidelity and the tinny effects occasionally crackle and pop with the effort of playing, but it's hard to describe the feeling of pure joy the first time you hit a virtual tennis ball and hear a satisfying *thwack* come from right where your racquet should be. Even non-integral sounds -- like <em>Zelda</em>'s "you found a secret" chime or <em>Excite Truck</em>'s five-star bonus noise -- feel a little more special when they come from your hand instead of the TV speakers. What's more, Nintendo has made it ridiculously easy to adjust the speaker volume by hitting the home button in the middle of any game, showing design savvy that has been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiiannoy">lacking</a> in some other areas.<br /><br />While it doesn't quite compare to a 7.1 Dolby surround sound setup, the extra aural dimension created by the Wii remote's speaker is a welcome addition that helps the Wii stand out against the crowd. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wiidelight">Wii delights</a><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ps3delight">PS3 delights</a><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/360delight">Xbox 360 delights</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/15/dude-did-my-controller-just-talk-wii-delight-1/">Dude, did my controller just talk?
