At least one version of each game in the series is available.<br /><br />In non-interactive news, Dinosaur Office returns to Nintendo Video tomorrow.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/10/nintendoware-weekly-monster-world-iv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Monster World IV</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/10/nintendoware-weekly-monster-world-iv/">NintendoWare Weekly: Monster World IV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 May 2012 15:00:00 EST. When asked about the possibility, Oster <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/TrentOster/status/191609922629283840">told</a> a fan that "we don't do Nintendo development," adding that Beamdog's "previous experience with Nintendo was enough to ensure there will not be another [Nintendo project]."<br /><br />Oster's issues with Nintendo extend from Beamdog's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/09/nintendoware-weekly-mdk2-mighty-milky-way/">WiiWare port of <em>MDK 2</em></a>. A <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/TrentOster/status/192109762689777665">6,000 unit sales requirement</a> before a developer receives payment - combined with a drawn-out certification process - soured Oster's feelings for WiiWare. He also <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/TrentOster/status/192238839027347456">noted</a> that the Wii's "exceptionally low attach rate" is "bad for devs" and essentially makes the Wii "a toy."<br /><br />We contacted Oster for clarification on Beamdog's experience with Nintendo. "It's pretty simple," he said.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/beamdog-no-baldurs-gate-for-wii-u-bad-nintendo-experience-to/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Beamdog: No Baldur's Gate for Wii U, bad Nintendo experience to blame</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/beamdog-no-baldurs-gate-for-wii-u-bad-nintendo-experience-to/">Beamdog: No Baldur's Gate for Wii U, bad Nintendo experience to blame</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Apr 2012 14:00:00 EST. For April, Nintendo is offering Kenji Eno's WiiWare puzzle game <em>You, Me, and the Cubes</em>; the WiiWare bike retread <em>Excitebike World Rally,</em> and a 3DS-only download of DSiWare shmup <em>Metal Torrent</em> (all right, they <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/25/dsiware-first-look-x-scape-and-metal-torrent/">can't</a> all be winners).<br /><br />As always, these games are also available through your console's online store for regular money, but you have the extra option of trading your fake Club Nintendo currency this month.<br /><br />[Thanks, Adam!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/03/club-nintendo-offers-you-me-the-cubes-excitebike-and-metal-t/">Club Nintendo offers You, Me, the Cubes, Excitebike, and Metal Torrent</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Apr 2012 01:15:00 EST. Yes, that means it's a really slow week, but to be fair <em>Mutant Mudds</em> is <em>very</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/02/portabliss-mutant-mudds-3ds-eshop/">worth trying</a>.<br /><br />DSiWare's sole release is <em>'90s Pool</em>, which, as far as we can tell, is "'90s" only because the words "'90s Pool" are on the top screen at all times. Where's Luke Perry? Where's the Ace of Base cover music?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/nintendoware-weekly-mutant-mudds-demo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Mutant Mudds demo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/nintendoware-weekly-mutant-mudds-demo/">NintendoWare Weekly: Mutant Mudds demo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Mar 2012 12:00:00 EST. Between the Wii and 3DS, there are four new Virtual Console games you can buy today. On 3DS, of course, that means <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/14/game-gear-emulation-outclasses-the-other-3ds-virtual-console-gam/">Game Gear support</a> has arrived. On Wii, it means <em>Samurai Shodown IV</em>, originally for Neo Geo.<br /><br />There's also some free entertainment to be found on the 3DS Nintendo Video service, where a 3D <em>Kid Icarus</em> anime is probably being delivered to you over SpotPass right this second.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/nintendoware-weekly-game-gear-samurai-shodown-iv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Game Gear, Samurai Shodown IV</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/nintendoware-weekly-game-gear-samurai-shodown-iv/">NintendoWare Weekly: Game Gear, Samurai Shodown IV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Mar 2012 11:10:00 EST. The proprietor lets the pup out of its cage to play with you, and the dog can't hide its excitement to run and play with all the toys in the room. It barks happily and licks the screen to simulate licking your face.<br /><br />Its barks sound just enough like your name, but just different enough, that you question what you heard.<br /><br />Then, after you choose to exit the demo, the virtual puppy goes back into its cage, whimpering. The last thing you see before you close the 3DS lid is your puppy's paw up against the screen. Occasionally you'll receive a note via SpotPass telling you that the little scamp still looks out the window whenever a car the same model as yours drives by.<br /><br />We didn't design the real demo.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/23/nintendoware-weekly-nintendogs-cats-demo-2-fast-4-gnomz/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Nintendogs + Cats demo, 2 Fast 4 Gnomz</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/23/nintendoware-weekly-nintendogs-cats-demo-2-fast-4-gnomz/">NintendoWare Weekly: Nintendogs + Cats demo, 2 Fast 4 Gnomz</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Feb 2012 13:20:00 EST. It'll be rampaging across a few new platforms -- in addition to the known XBLA and WiiWare versions, Provinciano announced plans on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/02/20/retro-city-rampage-is-coming-to-ps-vita-and-ps3/">PlayStation Blog</a> to release the game on PS3 and PlayStation Vita, and shared plans on his own site to release it PC. He's aiming for a simultaneous May release for them all.<br /><br />In fact, you can pre-order that PC version right now at <a href="http://retrocityrampage.com/">retrocityrampage.com</a>, and get bonuses including a mini soundtrack download, a digital manual and 20% off of Fangamer's <a href="http://www.fangamer.net/collections/vblank">Retro City Rampage collection</a>*.<br /><br />And yes, Provinciano is still making all of these versions pretty much on his own. "Maxime [Tr&eacute;panier]'s been doing art and the music guys are still doing some polish but I'm still juggling everything else myself," Provinciano told Joystiq. Add publishing to that list of duties as well. "I'm self publishing on PlayStation," Provinciano said. "Sony's fantastic that they allow you to do that."<br /><br />Once this epic undertaking is finally completed, Provinciano hopes to take on something smaller-scale. "I've got many ideas and definitely want to do more open-world games," he said, "but right after RCR I will take a breather and work on something small and different. Hopefully something that takes maybe eight weeks instead of eight years."<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-2-20-12/">Retro City Rampage (2/20/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-2-20-12/#4831018"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/rcr2201_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-2-20-12/#4831019"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/rcr2202_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-2-20-12/#4831020"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/rcr2203_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-2-20-12/#4831021"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/rcr2204_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-2-20-12/#4831022"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/rcr2205_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[*Disclosure: I have worked with Fangamer on a currently available product.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/20/retro-city-rampage-ps3-vita-pc-release-date/">Retro City Rampage running wild on Xbox, Wii, PS3, Vita, and PC in May</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Feb 2012 10:11:00 EST. Get rid of that Hulu Plus ennui with Hulu Plus on Wii. Nintendo announced that the service is now available through the Wii in the US as of today.<br /><br />Users can download the Hulu app through the Wii Shop Channel for free, and then subscribe for $7.99 a month to watch television shows and movies. Through the first month of the app's availability, new users can redeem a two-week free trial of the service.<br /><br />A 3DS version is due "later this year." We apologize for the "Hulu Plus ennui" joke and the lengths to which we had to go to make it.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/16/hulu-plus-now-available-on-wii/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hulu Plus app now downloadable on Wii</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/16/hulu-plus-now-available-on-wii/">Hulu Plus app now downloadable on Wii</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 Feb 2012 10:20:00 EST. 3DS demos have finally arrived in North America! Or, at least, they will in a couple of hours when the eShop updates. You'll have the opportunity to check out Capcom's classic-style <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-revelations"><em>Resident Evil Revelations</em></a> at no risk -- other than the usual risk of terror-soaked pants, we suppose.<br />
<br />
In WiiWare news, remember when Interplay was going to revive <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/9u5rYApQG7LfOeFJJK8OtTZNIZlX86Nq"><em>Stonekeep</em></a> for WiiWare? Well, that's happened. You can see the results above.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/19/nintendoware-weekly-resident-evil-revelations-demo-stonekeep/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Resident Evil Revelations demo, Stonekeep</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/19/nintendoware-weekly-resident-evil-revelations-demo-stonekeep/">NintendoWare Weekly: Resident Evil Revelations demo, Stonekeep</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Jan 2012 10:00:00 EST. <br />
In late 2009, Nintendo put <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/nintendoware-weekly-wiiware-demos-pokemon-rumble-indiana-jone/">five demos</a> for WiiWare games on the Wii Shop Channel. Inexplicably, it was a limited-time deal and they all <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/10/nintendo-wiiware-demo-program-was-always-limited-time-offer/">went away</a> on January 31. Then, in late 2010 (and also inexplicably) the program <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/29/nintendoware-weekly-cave-story-cave-story/">returned</a>, and WiiWare demos started trickling in at the rate of one a week. These were also intended as limited-time offers, which continued not to make any damn sense.<br />
<br />
Now, in the crowning moment of weirdness for the service, all 50 demos that were previously offered in North America are now available on the Wii Shop in a "demo" section found within the selection of WiiWare "genres," with no explanation at all. Of all the bizarre moves related to this service, this is the one we can most wholeheartedly support.<br />
<br />
Go try some demos! <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/lilt-line"><em>Lilt Line</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/and-yet-it-moves"><em>And Yet It Moves</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bit-trip-beat"><em>Bit.Trip Beat</em></a>, and more are there to sample. Use your downloads to send Nintendo the incredibly obvious message that people like demos.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/13/all-wiiware-demos-return-to-the-wii-shop-channel/">All WiiWare demos return to the Wii Shop Channel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jan 2012 09:40:00 EST. Well, this is awkward. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/zen-pinball-3d"><em>Zen Pinball 3D</em></a> launches on the 3DS eShop today ... and so does the DSiWare game <em>101 Pinball World</em>. If you really love handheld virtual pinball, this is like the best day ever!<br />

Elsewhere, The Learning Company and Gamelion bring the third installment of the surprisingly episodic WiiWare <em>Carmen Sandiego</em> series. And if you care to check Nintendo Video on your 3DS this Saturday, you can get a 3D Kirby cartoon.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/12/nintendoware-weekly-zen-pinball-3d-101-pinball-world/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Zen Pinball 3D, 101 Pinball World</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/12/nintendoware-weekly-zen-pinball-3d-101-pinball-world/">NintendoWare Weekly: Zen Pinball 3D, 101 Pinball World</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 Jan 2012 13:30:00 EST. Richard Hill-Whittall is the owner and director of Icon Games Entertainment, and his company has released several games in the last year for various platforms, including WiiWare. He recently shared <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/RichardHillWhittall/20120103/9177/Icons_SelfPublishing_Numbers_to_Date.php">some sales numbers over on Gamasutra</a>, but was asked by Nintendo to take the numbers for its platforms down. According to Hill-Whittall, Nintendo <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/RichardHillWhittall/20120105/9183/Nintendo__digital_sales_data_secrecy.php">doesn't allow developers to share digital sales numbers</a> for self-published WiiWare and downloadable DS titles.<br />
<br />
That's an interesting tack to take, and Hill-Whittall argues that it hurts smaller developers who might need to make those sales numbers known in order to secure financing or plan out their business. He doesn't see it as surprising, however, because Nintendo doesn't allow developers to change their prices or offer demos or promotions either, which are all tactics that Microsoft, Sony, and other digital publishers have used to pick up lots of digital sales before.<br />
<br />
Obviously, not everyone will want to share sales data, and Nintendo itself must see this data as valuable information to be protected. A restriction on sharing the data, says Hill-Whittall, could be fatal for a smaller developer like his, especially if they rely on Nintendo's platform alone.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/05/nintendo-tells-developers-not-to-share-digital-sales-numbers/">Nintendo tells developers not to share digital sales numbers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Jan 2012 20:15:00 EST. Today on WiiWare, you can experience a pitched battle against zombies, in which you <em>pitch</em> objects with a slingshot. Oh, and it's called <em>Zombii Attack. </em>Because it's on the Wii. And there are zombies. (See?)<br />
<br />
UFO Interactive's <em>Samurai Sword Destiny</em>, a side-scrolling action game starring a samurai in search of her missing elder brother, is the next original release on the 3DS eShop. Said samurai seems to think he's hiding behind a single-file line of several thousand enemies.<br />

Two games hit the eShop today, and they both seem worthwhile! Terry Cavanagh's devious puzzle platformer, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/vvvvvv">VVVVVV</a>, </em>is now playable on the go, courtesy of Nicalis. <em>Bionic Commando</em> is also made portable, courtesy of ... the Game Boy version Capcom made years ago.<br />
<br />
On DSiWare you can get <em>Cake Ninja</em>, though you'd probably hate yourself for buying such an outright <em>Fruit Ninja</em> clone. Get it only if you're lacking a conscience, much like its developers.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/29/nintendoware-weekly-vvvvvv-bionic-commando/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: VVVVVV, Bionic Commando</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/29/nintendoware-weekly-vvvvvv-bionic-commando/">NintendoWare Weekly: VVVVVV, Bionic Commando</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Dec 2011 10:15:00 EST. If your home is already full to bursting with Mario paraphernalia, you'll be delighted to learn that you can exchange your Club Nintendo Coins for downloadable games. Nintendo is featuring a rotating selection of WiiWare, Virtual Console, DSiWare, and eShop downloads offered on the North American Club Nintendo site.<br />
<br />
Through January 10, your choices include <em>Super Mario Kart </em>(100 Coins), <em>3D Classics: Xevious</em> (100 Coins), <em>Fluidity</em> (150 Coins), and <em>Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again </em>(150 Coins). In a way, this is really cheap as it trades illusory fun money for games -- but in another way, it's outrageously expensive as said fun money is only acquired through the for-real purchase of multiple games.<br />
<br />
Those of you with more space for swag have new reward options as well: three different, <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/23002.do">adorable</a> <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/22510.do">Mario</a> <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/23004.do">notebooks</a>, and a <a href="https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/22517.do">Zelda poster set</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/15/now-you-can-exchange-club-nintendo-coins-for-games/">Now you can exchange Club Nintendo Coins for games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Dec 2011 11:00:00 EST. Somehow you've ended up with a prepaid points card for your Wii, DSi, or 3DS. If you're looking to fill up your Wii with the best stuff from this year, you might be surprised to find out that there was stuff this year! The Wii Virtual Console actually looks <em>populated</em>, for example, when you look at the whole year's output at once. And we were surprised to see how well the 3DS Virtual Console has built up since its launch.<br />
<br />
Join us after the break to find the most entertaining ways to spend your Nintendo points on your platform of choice. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQInIHbbE28">You guys probably don't even know about <em>Freakyforms</em>, do you</a>?<br />

Nintendo brings another original, downloadable 3DS game to the eShop, inspiring ... not quite cautious optimism, but a cautious lessening of pessimism. Intelligent Systems' <em>Pushmo</em> is a puzzler about pulling stacked 3D blocks into and out of the screen to make climbing paths. It makes sense for a puzzle game on 3DS!<br />

On WiiWare, we finally have the opportunity to try out RedLynx's <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/motoheroz"><em>MotoHeroz</em></a> without paying $15 for the privilege.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/">Pushmo (3DS eShop)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666511"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31857_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666512"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31858_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666513"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31859_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666514"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31860_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666515"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31861_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/08/nintendoware-weekly-pushmo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Pushmo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/08/nintendoware-weekly-pushmo/">NintendoWare Weekly: Pushmo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Dec 2011 12:25:00 EST. The 3DS's Virtual Console adds an extra layer of abstraction today, with the Game Boy port of the NES version of <em>Adventure Island II</em> (called, confusingly enough, "Adventure Island.") You can enjoy this Game Boy version of an NES game in a little Game Boy-looking window on your 3DS!<br />
<br />
DSiWare features <em>Double Bloob</em>, a vertical shooter/puzzle game we first covered way back in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/25/nibris-shows-possible-real-game-double-bloob/">2007</a>, years before there even was a DSiWare service. It's gone through a lot of changes since then, not the least of which was a departure of the development team from its former home at the infamous <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nibris">Nibris</a>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/adventure-island-game-boy/">Adventure Island (Game Boy)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/adventure-island-game-boy/#4650106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31911_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/adventure-island-game-boy/#4650107"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31912_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/adventure-island-game-boy/#4650108"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31913_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/adventure-island-game-boy/#4650109"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31914_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/adventure-island-game-boy/#4650110"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31915_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/01/nintendoware-weekly-adventure-island-double-bloob/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Adventure Island, Double Bloob</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/01/nintendoware-weekly-adventure-island-double-bloob/">NintendoWare Weekly: Adventure Island, Double Bloob</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Dec 2011 12:40:00 EST. The Metroid series is so littered with prequels and sequels that it's hard to tell where exactly <em>Metroid II: Return of Samus</em> sits in the story. It <em>definitely</em> takes place after the original <em>Metroid</em>, if that helps. The adventure sees the intergalactic bounty hunter head to the Metroid home world, SR388; her only mission to eradicate every last one of those energy-sapping creatures. The GameBoy classic is out today on the 3DS eShop.<br />
<br />
Also up for grabs on both the eShop and DSiWare is the tower defense(ish) title <em>Come On! Heroes</em>, while WiiWare gets the fishing title <em>Big Bass Arcade</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/24/nintendoware-weekly-metroid-ii-return-of-samus/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nintendoware Weekly: Metroid II: Return of Samus</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/24/nintendoware-weekly-metroid-ii-return-of-samus/">Nintendoware Weekly: Metroid II: Return of Samus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Nov 2011 13:00:00 EST. Not even the metaphorical constraints of intellectual property are enough to contain Twisted Pixel's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/splosion-man"><em>'Splosion Man</em></a>, apparently, as indie developer VBlank Entertainment has revealed that both Mr. And <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ms-splosion-man"><em>Ms. 'Splosion Man</em></a> will join the cast of its upcoming pixel-art chiptune meta-homage <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/retro-city-rampage"><em>Retro City Rampage</em></a>.<br />
<br />
VBlank told MineCon 2011 attendees that <em>'Splosion Man</em> is "the first of <em>Retro City Rampage</em>'s official indie (or previously indie) crossovers," a statement that indicates future crossover announcements while simultaneously poking at Twisted Pixel's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/microsoft-buys-indie-developer-twisted-pixel/">recent change in corporate structure.</a> Check out the trailer above for a glimpse at <em>RCR</em>'s isometric take on 'splode-based platforming.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-splosion-man/">Retro City Rampage ('Splosion Man)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-splosion-man/#4624638"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/logosplosion_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-splosion-man/#4624637"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/logomssplosion_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-splosion-man/#4624639"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/rcrsplosion003_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-splosion-man/#4624640"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/rcrsplosion002_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/retro-city-rampage-splosion-man/#4624641"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/rcrsplosion001_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/19/splosion-man-coming-to-retro-city-rampage/">'Splosion Man coming to Retro City Rampage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 19 Nov 2011 14:30:00 EST. Nintendo delivers another kind of remastered classic, with <em>3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure.</em> It's much less "remastered" looking than earlier 3D Classics -- it's windowed, and has all the UI on the top screen with the gameplay. On the other hand: <em>Kirby's Adventure</em>!<br />
<br />
This week, WiiWare offers Pinocchio-themed jigsaw puzzles, and DSiWare offers a Chinese language learning game and a <em>thrilling, chilling</em> game about being stuck in a convenience store. Do you dare enter the convenience store of mystery?<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-kirbys-adventure-3ds/">3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure (3DS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-kirbys-adventure-3ds/#4618671"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/i31668_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-kirbys-adventure-3ds/#4618672"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/i31669_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-kirbys-adventure-3ds/#4618673"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/i31670_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-kirbys-adventure-3ds/#4618674"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/i31671_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-kirbys-adventure-3ds/#4618675"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/11/i31672_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/17/nintendoware-weekly-kirbys-adventure/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Kirby's Adventure</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/17/nintendoware-weekly-kirbys-adventure/">NintendoWare Weekly: Kirby's Adventure</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Nov 2011 11:00:00 EST. Nintendo made it really, really easy this week for us to notice the release of its original 3DS download game, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/freakyforms-your-creations-alive"><em>Freakyforms</em></a>. Unfortunately, it did this by releasing <em>nothing else</em> on eShop (save some <em>Zelda</em> music on Nintendo Video), and very little on DSiWare (a tower defense game about monkeys popping balloons, and a generic strategy title).<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, on WiiWare ... step aerobics. So yeah, <em>Freakyforms</em>! Waiting for a game is probably the worst thing in the world. But if you're waiting for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/retro-city-rampage"><em>Retro City Rampage</em></a>, you can at least ease that burden a bit by checking out select tracks from the game's soundtrack right now, free of charge.<br />
<br />
This Soundcloud page has a few of the game's tracks for streaming or download, as well as some remixes that were the product of <a href="http://www.retrocityrampage.com/remix.php">a recent contest</a>. We're not sure how long it'll be available, but said page says to look for the full soundtrack in January or February 2012. We've contacted Brian Provinciano, the game's creator, who told us that these tracks will be available indefinitely. The full soundtrack is being printed right now, but you'll have to (obviously) pay money for it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/05/partial-retro-city-rampage-soundtrack-available-online-for-free/">Partial Retro City Rampage soundtrack available online, for free</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 05 Nov 2011 05:00:00 EST. It's a "kid" oriented week for Nintendo downloadables. If you've been waiting for more <em>Balloon Fight</em> since downloading the NES game -- and of course you have -- <em>Balloon Kid</em> for Game Boy brings you an adventure expanded from that NES game, with new abilities and obstacles. You'll be delighted as long as you don't realize that Japan got the <a href="http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/eshop/vc/qafj/index.html">Game Boy Color version</a> ... whoops!<br />
<br />
While you have the 3DS open, you can also enjoy a "Main Theme Medley" from the recent <em>Zelda</em> concert on Nintendo Video.<br />
<br />
On DSiWare, <em>1950s Lawn Mower Kids</em> is a game about guiding three of the title characters to perform their gardening duties among UFOs, dogs, and other obstacles.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/03/nintendoware-weekly-balloon-kid-1950s-lawn-mower-kids/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Balloon Kid, 1950s Lawn Mower Kids</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/03/nintendoware-weekly-balloon-kid-1950s-lawn-mower-kids/">NintendoWare Weekly: Balloon Kid, 1950s Lawn Mower Kids</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Nov 2011 11:00:00 EST. If you want to remember the classic, seasoned <em>BurgerTime</em> gameplay before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/13/november-2-is-burgertime-on-xbla/"><em>BurgerTime World Tour</em></a> hits next week, you can check out <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/JBywzYrgZK8ppe3jIFF6lf8ZfHq6yqp6"><em>BurgerTime Deluxe</em></a> for Game Boy, out on 3DS Virtual Console today in North America at a cost of $2.99.<br />
<br />
If you want something new, the puzzle game <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/1x3U6O1TEtOp_7XOUs5xv4zY4Zwm0voZ"><em>Pyramids</em></a> is that rarest of games: an original downloadable 3DS release. Players control a treasure hunter attempting to escape from pyramids by creating and destroying blocks.<br />
<br />
Finally, WiiWare now features the $10 <em>Anima: Ark of Sinners</em>, a distinctly <em>Castlevania</em>-style game based on a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anima:_Beyond_Fantasy#Anima:_Beyond_Fantasy_.28RPG.29">pen-and-paper RPG</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/27/nintendoware-weekly-burgertime-deluxe-anima-ark-of-sinners/">NintendoWare Weekly: BurgerTime Deluxe, Anima: Ark of Sinners</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Oct 2011 17:30:00 EST. Do you like the short clips available on <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/nintendo-video">Nintendo Video</a>, but wish they wouldn't randomly disappear from your system when new ones come along? Starting today, Nintendo is offering a selection of previous Nintendo Video shows from DreamWorks, downloadable from the eShop for $2 each.<br />
<br />
It's sort of like buying an episode of your favorite TV show on iTunes, we suppose, if that episode was five minutes long and only viewable on a 3DS. Kind of weird, but at least it's an additional option.<br />
<br />

Deceptively big numbers abound (as big numbers tend to do) on Nintendo's download services this week.<em> 101-in-1 Explosive Megamix</em> collects entirely too many games in a single pack on WiiWare, and <em>1001 Blockbusters</em> provides a similarly excessive number of block-breaking levels on DSiWare.<br />
<br />
On 3DS, there's an obscure, but interesting Game Boy puzzle called <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitman_(video_game)"><em>Catrap</em></a>, which is actually about puzzles that you can accidentally trap yourself in -- and not rapping cats. If you're looking for something more passive to do with your 3DS, there's a new "Night of the Living Carrots" short starring characters from<em> Monsters vs. Aliens</em> on the Nintendo Video service.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/catrap-3ds-virtual-console/">Catrap (3DS Virtual Console)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/catrap-3ds-virtual-console/#4524548"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31139_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/catrap-3ds-virtual-console/#4524549"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31140_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/catrap-3ds-virtual-console/#4524550"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31141_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/catrap-3ds-virtual-console/#4524551"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31142_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/catrap-3ds-virtual-console/#4524552"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31143_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/13/nintendoware-weekly-catrap-101-in-1/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Catrap, 101-in-1</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/13/nintendoware-weekly-catrap-101-in-1/">NintendoWare Weekly: Catrap, 101-in-1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Oct 2011 16:15:00 EST. The Game Boy collection on the 3DS continues to grow ever so gradually with the addition of Data East's<em> Side Pocket</em>, a pool game. That's "pool" as in the game about hitting numbered balls with a cue, not swimming. Nintendo also informs us that <em>Pokedex 3D</em> has been updated -- but not how it's been updated -- so if you're still working to fill your virtual compendium, check for that addition.<br />

On DSiWare, there's another <em>House MD</em> episode and <em>Simply Minesweeper</em>, a version of the classic timewaster. And on WiiWare: <em>Horizon Riders</em>, a new rail shooter that gives you the option of controlling movement with the Balance Board.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/horizon-riders-wiiware/">Horizon Riders (WiiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/horizon-riders-wiiware/#4506696"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31094_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/horizon-riders-wiiware/#4506697"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31095_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/horizon-riders-wiiware/#4506699"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31096_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/horizon-riders-wiiware/#4506700"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31097_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/horizon-riders-wiiware/#4506701"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/i31098_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/06/nintendoware-weekly-horizon-riders-side-pocket-simply-mineswe/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Horizon Riders, Side Pocket, Simply Minesweeper</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/06/nintendoware-weekly-horizon-riders-side-pocket-simply-mineswe/">NintendoWare Weekly: Horizon Riders, Side Pocket, Simply Minesweeper</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Oct 2011 11:00:00 EST. You might have missed it yesterday, since it wasn't during the normal Nintendo downloadable game release day, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/28/psa-four-swords-anniversary-edition-out-now-worldwide/"><em>The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition</em></a> is free to download right now on DSiWare (which is, of course, also accessible with the 3DS). If you've got friends to play with, it's a fun, bite-sized Zelda experience; if you don't, it's basically a really weird <em>Zelda</em> game where you don't get to keep your items.<br />
<br />
Another Nintendo classic is available on 3DS today: <em>Super Mario Land 2</em>, which introduces Wario for the first time -- long before he starts his <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warioware">software company</a>. And on WiiWare, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/23/escapevektor-escapes-from-wii-on-wii/"><em>escapeVektor: Chapter 1</em></a> combines Qix-style outline completion with a storyline about being trapped in a computer.<br />
<br />
Nintendo also notes that new 3D trailers for <em>Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario</em>, and <em>Mario Tennis</em> will be available on 3DS "soon," so watch all those Blue Man Group videos now to make sure you have time for these.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/29/nintendoware-weekly-super-mario-land-2-escapevektor/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Super Mario Land 2, escapeVektor</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/29/nintendoware-weekly-super-mario-land-2-escapevektor/">NintendoWare Weekly: Super Mario Land 2, escapeVektor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Sep 2011 10:30:00 EST. Another "3D Classic" is added to the 3DS lineup today -- and, thus, another entry in the small group of 3DS-exclusive downloadable games. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/03/twinbee-goes-3d-classic-on-3ds-mostly/"><em>3D Classics: Twinbee</em></a> is an update of Konami's vintage vertical-scrolling shooter. Expect bright colors and cute music, but not, for some reason, a widescreen presentation.<br />
<br />
Conversely, WiiWare has a very 3D-oriented game displayed in 2D. It's a neat-looking platformer, <em>Aya and the Cubes of Light</em>, in which you explore all six sides of free-floating, cubic levels.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-twinbee-3ds/">3D Classics: Twinbee (3DS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-twinbee-3ds/#4471341"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/i30860_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-twinbee-3ds/#4471342"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/i30861_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-twinbee-3ds/#4471343"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/i30862_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-twinbee-3ds/#4471344"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/i30863_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/3d-classics-twinbee-3ds/#4471345"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/i30864_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/22/nintendoware-weekly-3d-classics-twinbee-aya-and-the-cubes-of/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: 3D Classics: Twinbee, Aya and the Cubes of Light</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/22/nintendoware-weekly-3d-classics-twinbee-aya-and-the-cubes-of/">NintendoWare Weekly: 3D Classics: Twinbee, Aya and the Cubes of Light</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Sep 2011 13:45:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/trials-hd"><em>Trials HD</em></a> developer RedLynx released <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/motoheroz"><em>MotoHeroz</em></a> on WiiWare in North America last week. As a multiplayer, party-focused iteration on the exacting <em>Trials</em> gameplay -- and as a major WiiWare release in 2011 -- it's an odd game. In the interest of understanding it a bit better, I spoke to lead designer Antti Ilvessuo in an email interview.<br />
<br />
<em>MotoHeroz</em> is actually the second game in a "Heroz" series. RedLynx released an even weirder game, the foot-racer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/31/redlynx-announces-iphone-ipad-game-1000-heroz/"><em>1000 Heroz</em></a> for iOS, this year, and the new WiiWare game ties into it. "Both MotoHeroz and our iOS game 1000 Heroz take place in the same shared universe, the world of Gema," Ilvessuo said. "In this world, differences are settled not with battles but with games, and politicians must get to the top of their Leaderboards to get elected." The characters are purportedly unworthy of the designation "heroes," thus the near-miss appellation "Heroz." You can even collect "Ancestor Spirits" in <em>MotoHeroz</em> who hail from the prehistoric cast of the iPhone game.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/21/redlynx-on-motoherozs-ancestry-league-play-and-prospects/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RedLynx on MotoHeroz's ancestry, league play, and prospects</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/21/redlynx-on-motoherozs-ancestry-league-play-and-prospects/">RedLynx on MotoHeroz's ancestry, league play, and prospects</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Sep 2011 12:00:00 EST. RedLynx flips out onto WiiWare with its long-awaited party stunt game, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/motoheroz"><em>MotoHeroz</em></a>. It's the sole WiiWare release for the week, and the anchor of a week that is similarly light across all Nintendo platforms.<br />
<br />
The single eShop release is also pretty cool:<em> Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge</em>. We've been waiting for another chance to buy this, ever since the GBA collection was <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man_Anniversary_Collection#Development">canceled</a> years ago.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/nintendoware-weekly-motoheroz-mega-man/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: MotoHeroz, Mega Man</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/nintendoware-weekly-motoheroz-mega-man/">NintendoWare Weekly: MotoHeroz, Mega Man</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Sep 2011 09:30:00 EST. It would be hard to overshadow this week's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/06/report-famitsu-leaks-circle-pad-attachment-monster-hunter-tri/">most prominent 3DS news</a>, and Nintendo doesn't even come close to it with today's digital releases. If you're on 3DS, you'll have access to the Game Boy version of <em>Golf -- </em>and, if you check out Nintendo Video, Blue Man Group will teach you how to Dougie. On Wii you'll find a couple of color-matching puzzlers, including a demo for this year's intriguing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/14/nintendoware-weekly-plants-vs-zombies-liight/"><em>Liight</em></a>.<br />
<br />
On DSiWare, Agetec brings us <em>DotMan</em>, a low-cost download that looks to us like a modern update of the old Atari game, <a href="http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareID=984"><em>Dodge'Em</em></a>. Maybe you were looking for something like that.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/08/nintendoware-weekly-golf-dotman/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Golf, DotMan</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/08/nintendoware-weekly-golf-dotman/">NintendoWare Weekly: Golf, DotMan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Sep 2011 09:50:00 EST.
