She's a witch! Mojang developer Nathan "Dinnerbone" Adams said the witch will be a ranged attacker, and will use the "Testificate" humanoid model, along with a polygonal nose that will wiggle and twitch.

Dinnerbone also hinted at a new animal type, while YouTuber Martyn (aka InTheLittleWood) posted a new video, which shows NPC bats are on their way to Minecraft. They'll spawn not only outside at night, but in any area, under or above ground, if there's a big enough space. They'll also hang upside down, rather creepily.

The new update should be out next month, so get your candy bags ready for then.

Yes, Modern Warfare 2's controversial "No Russian" mission -- erroneously titled the "Massacre Level" here -- has once again brought the full weight of the nation's outrage (represented here by the Christian Civic League of Maine). The group reminds us of the "well-established cause and effect relationship between video games and school shootings" and cautions that "the ready availability of drugs, violent video games, and outrageous rock music is a witch's brew which will eventually lead to tragedy here in Maine." Speaking of witches, GamePolitics points out that the group has outed the owner of a local book store as a witch (and a Democrat!) and claims she "cast a spell" on the Administrator of the League.

Well, it looks like NIS America is finally ready to bring it to the States this year. The horror-themed RPG takes full advantage of the DS touch screen by using a unique combat system based on your drawings. From the trailer, we can garner the entire game is controlled through the stylus. Players must draw various runes to cast spells to travel the six kingdoms and save princesses.

Considering the gothic vibe oozing out of the game, we wouldn't be surprised if NIS America aimed for a Halloween release.

The official website for Doki Doki Majo Shinpan Duo recently updated with a new trailer, showing off everything you'd expect from a sequel to Doki Doki Majo Shinpan. There's an introduction for each of the game's characters, as well as brief snippets of gameplay tossed in for good measure. Oh, and near the end, you can get a look at the big Limited Edition package of the game.

For those who place little value in the chase, that exhilarating, flirtatious period when nothing is guaranteed, actually playing through Doki Doki Majo Shinpan is secondary to groping its adolescent witches. Rather than have you labor through the text-heavy release's dialogue and plot setup, Stage Clear has posted artwork wrested from the Japanese game, enabling you to skip the journey and get right to your depraved destination.

While none of the shots are scandalous enough to land you a ten-year stay in a federal prison, we wouldn't say that they're safe for work viewing either. The wiccan nymphets are depicted in poses that would leave Humbert Humbert dizzy with delight ("the king crying for joy, the trumpets blaring, the nurse drunk"), their faces reacting to the taps and strokes of an unseen stylus. Scurry shamefully past the post break for a couple of those images.

If you've been following Doki Doki Majo Shinpan with the same level of interest as we somehow have developed, then you probably saw our first video footage of the game, taken from a store demo. But that was in a noisy store, shot with a handheld camera, and not really the ideal presentation for game video.

Well, this is significantly more ideal. It's a Windows Media stream of that same video, in much better quality. The only problem-- like we said, it's a Windows Media stream. Expect to wait a bit.

SNK's Doki Doki Majo Shinpan has been doing great business in preorder, and seems to be getting a lot of attention. Now it looks like SNK is responding to this success by marketing the game in ... China! A new translated version of the website has appeared, offering the same content in Chinese. No, it doesn't help us any, but at least they're thinking about some international marketing. That's one baby step closer to an English localization, right?

The Japanese page has been updated too, with the screen cleaner shown above (which some Japan-based reader should really think about securing for us) and new screens of the first-person Magic Battle Mode. Apparently, somehow, you can do something to upset the girls. Just touch the "Read" button to determine if it's a witch check out the screens.

There's nothing quite like controlling a sexy heroine in a scantily-clad battle against the forces of darkness. Considering a 2008 release on multiple platforms is a game with just that premise, currently titled project Witches. As it's posted on the project's site, we'll sit here and summarize the overview and key features like good little boys.

A third-person tactical action game set in medieval times beckons you to control Gwen, the uh, sultry main heroine who resists the dark power of some creatures known as Hordes of the Beast (the Beast being, of course, Satan) and sets off on a quest to free mankind from the slavery they are under. You can play it offline and online -- the levels are set up so cooperative play is pretty much imperative. But if you'd rather go it alone, you have some NPC buddies that would love to join in.

We're not sure what to make of this, but from the early screenshots, clothes are pretty much optional. You know those movies that have a decent, if overdone, premise but spice it up by having girls get naked or really unnecessary deaths, club dancing, or sex? Well, they try to spice it up. We're worried this game will suffer from that. It'll be all "yeah it's a hack n' slash with team elements... but our girls are wearing thongs and nothing else! So it's better." Hmm. We'll see.

Team Xbox got their hands on the first screens and details on Project WITCHES, which is being developed by Revistronic, who are based in Spain. Primary bullet points include that the game is built upon the concept of cooperative play over Xbox Live. The environment will have a stark contrast between the sultry (read: scantily clad females) withes against evil creatures in a dark and dirty medieval setting. Some of the promises made sound a little PR heavy, but still pique our interest. Thankfully, Project WITCHES is just a working title.

SNK's Doki Doki Majo Shinpan, the already-infamous adventure game about examining young girls for evidence of witchery, seems to have gotten Japanese gamers' hearts beating. The preorder listing for DDMS is now the top-listed video game on Amazon.com's Japan store.

It's currently ahead of the Final Fantasy Tactics PSP remake, Vanillaware's rather delicious-looking Odin Sphere, and even Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. We have to admit, we're happy to see SNK experiencing such success, though it's weird that we think of SNK as underdogs now when they used to charge people $300+ for their games.
