Japanese Nintendo downloads: NyxQuest, PooYoos

So, some games are available this week on the Virtual Console, WiiWare, and DSiWare in Japan. Last year's NyxQuest, the Greek-themed platformer, is the star among the Wii releases. Otherwise, the Wii Shop a pretty unassuming lineup, unless you're three years old or love both war history and numbers.

DSiWare has ... Miami Nights! Perfect if you like The Sims and constantly thinking of David Caruso jokes.

Japanese Nintendo downloads: Ivy the Kiwi, Fatal Fury 3

We thought it was odd when Prope's Windows Phone game Ivy the Kiwi was ported to DS and Wii as retail games rather than downloads, given its mobile origins. Well, now there are downloadable versions as well, on both DS and Wii. But at 1,000 points, it's one of the most expensive DSiWare games yet.

Speaking of expensive games, Fatal Fury 3 -- once an expensive Neo Geo cart -- is now available on the Virtual Console. Other interesting games include the retro cave-exploring game Fall in the Dark, and the cute hamster platformer Ike! Ike! Hamster on DSiWare.
