If you're less concerned with form and function as you are with <em>frugality</em>, you'll be pleased to know that the release of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-360-slim">slimmer, blacker 360 model</a> has led to the fairly substantial discounting of older, <em>chubbier</em> versions of the console. Both <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Arcade-Spring-2010-Bundle/dp/B002I0JCOU/ref=sr_tr_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1277218202&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon</a> and <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Microsoft+-+Xbox+360+Arcade+Spring+Bundle/9267937.p?id=1218071907912&amp;skuId=9267937&amp;st=xbox%20360-%20console&amp;cp=1&amp;lp=8">Best Buy</a> have marked the Arcade model down from $200 to $150, while the Elite model is down from $300 to $250.<br />

<a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/39707/GAME-discounts-Xbox-360">MCV reports</a> that UK retailers are beginning to drop the price on their Arcades and Elites in anticipation of the arrival of the Xbox 360 S. If you're looking for a cheap opportunity to grab a 360 -- or if you're just a purveyor of <em>ancient technological artifacts</em> -- you may want to grab these while they're hot.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/22/older-xbox-360-arcades-and-elites-get-prices-slashed/">Older Xbox 360 Arcades and Elites get prices slashed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jun 2010 16:20:00 EST. We know how it is. You've had your eyes on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/02/splinter-cell-conviction-xbox-360-bundle-coming-this-april/"><em>Splinter Cell Conviction</em> Xbox 360 Elite bundle</a> for weeks now. "I want it!," you say, "But it's <em>so</em> expensive." You're in luck, because it looks like Sam Fisher did some 'negotiating' with Dell and got the company to knock a full $75 off the price, making it a cool <a href="http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&amp;cs=19&amp;l=en&amp;sku=A3581718&amp;dgc=EM&amp;cid=55382&amp;lid=1426472&amp;acd=ZQ40BZ-NHHP5-GL7MGV-95IV8W-L2BSG-v1#Overview">$324.99</a>. It's worth noting that Dell seems to have the bundle details incorrect. The bundle includes <em>two</em> wireless controllers, not one, and a 250GB hard drive as opposed to a 120GB model. It also does <em>not</em> include an HDMI cable, an accessory Microsoft stopped bundling with Elites some time ago.<br />
<br />
If $325<em> </em>is still a bit too steep, you can also grab the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/06/new-360-elite-bundle-includes-halo-3-odst-and-forza-3-for-300/">Xbox 360 Elite Spring bundle</a>, which includes <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst"><em>Halo 3: ODST</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/forza-motorsport-3"><em>Forza Motorsport 3</em></a>, one wireless controller and a 120GB hard drive for just <a href="http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/XBOX_360/productdetail.aspx?c=us&amp;l=en&amp;s=dhs&amp;cs=19&amp;sku=A3562850">$269</a> ($30 off the usual price). Act now and you'll still have time to get in on the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/halo-reach"><em>Halo: Reach</em> beta</a>. Lest you haven't heard, it has <em>jetpacks</em>.<br />

Effective today, May 3, the Xbox 360 received a <a href="http://twitter.com/Xbox360_Spain/status/13125025358">price reduction</a> in Spain. The Arcade model was cut by &euro;30 to &euro;169 ($223), while the Elite experienced a &euro;20 drop to &euro;199 ($262). No other European countries seem to be experiencing a similar price drop.<br />
<br />
Following up with Microsoft in the States, the company's official comment to Joystiq was that "the limited promotional price of Xbox 360 Arcade in Spain does not reflect an official price drop." The company's statement continues, "We work closely with retailers to determine the best approach for our products on a region-by-region basis."<br />

Are you preparing to buy your first ever Xbox 360, and are looking for the best value for your money? Alternatively, did your Xbox 360 just commit ritual seppuku, and now you're looking for a SKU that comes bundled with some good games? Both parties are in luck -- <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Elite-Spring-Forza-Bundle/dp/B002I0J8ZS/?ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1267844404&amp;sr=8-1&amp;tag=gmgamzn-20">Amazon recently added a listing</a> for an Xbox 360 Elite Spring 2010 bundle, which includes <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst">Halo 3: ODST</a>,</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/forza-3"><em>Forza Motorsport 3</em></a> and a 120GB hard drive for just $299.99. According to the listing, this bundle will go on sale next Tuesday, March 9 -- the same day the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/11/final-fantasy-xiii-special-edition-xbox-360-bundle-includes-250g/">$399 <em>Final Fantasy XIII</em> bundle</a> hits Amazon's virtual store shelves. <br />
<br />
We're extremely excited about this news -- not because it's a great deal (though it really, really is), but because it's allowed us to break the world record for "Most Times Using The Number '3' In A Single Headline." Thanks for making this dream possible, Microsoft.<br />

A quick note to anyone looking to purchase an Xbox 360, Best Buy currently has a good deal on both the Elite and Arcade models. The retailer is currently offering a $30 gift card for the purchase of an Xbox 360 Arcade unit, while an Elite purchase will net you a $50 gift card. That effectively drops the prices of the Elite and Arcade to $250 and $170, respectively -- assuming you were planning to spend more money at Best Buy, anyway. To take part in the promotion, simply head to Best Buy's promotional pages for either the <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat203700050001&amp;type=category">Arcade</a> or <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat203700050000&amp;type=category">Elite</a> console, toss the selected hardware and the $50 gift card into your cart and place your order.<br />
<br />
Not a bad deal, especially if you want some actual <em>games</em> to play on that fancy new Xbox 360. Oh, and if you have an HDTV, don't forget that the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/microsoft-dropping-hdmi-cable-gives-xbox-360-consumers-flexibi/">flexibility</a>" of either console will require the purchase of HD cables.<br />

In fact, the company is even promoting a special <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/iptv">IPTV</a> Xbox 360 bundle there, which includes an Elite console, 12 months of subscription for Xbox Live Gold and four games <span style="font-style: italic;">-- </span><em>Lego Batman</em>, <em>Pure</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a> -- all for &euro;259 (about $375).<br />
<br />
The Vodafone Casa TV service not only lets you watch on-demand TV through your Xbox 360, but also grants Portuguese patrons the ability to access content from their set-top boxes and set times for their set-top box to record live television. While users won't be able to directly record content to their Xbox 360, they can still access certain functions of the console while streaming content, including private chat and accepting game invites. <br />
<br />

Microsoft just pulled back the curtain on <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/community/news/2009/1201-xbox360elitespecial.htm">a brand-new bundle</a> exclusively for our brothers and sisters to the north. Aside from a 250GB Xbox 360 Elite console, the bundle also includes a double dose of Bungie goodness: <em>Halo 3 </em>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3-odst"><em>Halo 3: ODST</em></a>. <br />

Starting today, you can get your maple syrup-soaked hands on this for a suggested retail price of $399.99 CAD. If you're a US gamer wondering why we didn't get this piece of gear down here, relax -- let Canada win this one! You have any idea how many driveways a Canadian has to shovel to earn this thing?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/01/250gb-elite-bundle-with-halo-3-and-odst-drops-into-canada/">250GB Elite bundle with Halo 3 and ODST drops into Canada</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Dec 2009 18:30:00 EST. Seems like <em>everyone</em> has to get in on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/29/xbox-360-elite-holiday-2009-bundle-shipping-today/">Elite bundle</a> action these days. <a href="http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20091020_322982.html">Game Watch</a> reports that a new Xbox 360 Elite bundle is headed to Japan, with both <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lost-planet-colonies"><em>Lost Planet: Colonies</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ace-combat-6"><em>Ace Combat 6</em></a> baked right in. it also comes packed with the normal Elite goodies -- headset, wireless controller and (incredibly <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/microsoft-dropping-hdmi-cable-gives-xbox-360-consumers-flexibi/">flexible</a>) composite cables. Unfortunately, the bundle fails to meet <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/250-gb-super-elite-360-spotted-in-south-africa-too/"><em>super</em> Elite</a> status, as it contains only a paltry 120GB hard drive.<br /> <br /> Still, at &yen;29,980 (~$330), it's not a bad deal. The bundle goes on sale in Japan starting October 29.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/20/japan-getting-lost-planet-ace-combat-6-xbox-bundle/">Japan getting Lost Planet / Ace Combat 6 Xbox bundle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Oct 2009 12:50:00 EST. While our mole may not be as prolific or mysterious as some others' we <em>do</em> have an inside man/woman who sent us these images of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/22/ars-mole-predicts-holiday-360-bundle-network-adapter-price-cut/">rumored</a> Xbox 360 Elite Holiday 2009 Bundle. With the inclusion of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Pure/"><em>Pure</em></a><em> </em>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lego-batman"><em>Lego Batman</em></a> the bundle certainly looks legit, and we think it's a safe bet this is what you'll be seeing on shelves this holiday season.<br /> <br /> Also: "It's More Fun Time on Xbox 360" is a very bad slogan. Microsoft is offering a $50 mail-in rebate on all Xbox 360 Elite purchases starting today (September 22) and ending October 5, making the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/microsoft-confirms-xbox-360-price-cut-300-elite-on-friday-25/">previously</a> $400 console SKU a mere $249. The offer is valid only in the US, but purchasers can certainly use that cash-back toward component cables, a Wi-Fi adapter, HD transfer cord, HDMI cable or ... any one of the many missing peripherals that brings "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/microsoft-dropping-hdmi-cable-gives-xbox-360-consumers-flexibi/">flexibility to consumers</a>."<br /> <br />Shortcut: <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/360eliterebate/default.htm">Rebate form</a><br /> <br /> [Via <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2009/09/22/purchase-and-xbox-360-elite-and-get-fifty-bucks-back.aspx">Major Nelson</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/22/xbox-360-elite-for-249-with-rebate-until-oct-5/">Xbox 360 Elite for $249 (with rebate) until Oct. 5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Sep 2009 10:34:00 EST. While entirely devoid of ill-fitting iconic helmets, one of Microsoft's new Xbox 360 Elite bundles -- designated for European markets, judging by the rating information on the box -- offers everything you need to stride 'n' strafe into the <em>Halo</em> universe. It's no "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/250-gb-super-elite-360-spotted-in-south-africa-too/">Super Elite</a>," but the 120GB package offers a fair amount of elites to shoot at in the included<em> Halo 3</em>, its upcoming expansion, <em>Halo 3: ODST</em>, and (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/how-to-reach-the-reach-beta-on-odst/">consequently</a>) the beta for next year's <em>Halo</em> game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-reach"><em>Reach</em></a>. As usual, Microsoft has thrown in a one-month Xbox Live Gold membership, which is just long enough for you to realize that you can never ever beat the internet at <em>Halo</em>.<br /></div>
<br />Prices are sure to vary from region to region (fun fact: it goes for <a href="http://www.take2.co.za/games-elite-halo-ultimate-xbox-360-console-bundle-halo-odst-halo-3-pal-4918134.html">roughly $580</a> in South Africa), so have a look on your shelves at the start of October, which is when retailers expect the bundle to drop in.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/16/halo-3-halo-3-odst-and-halo-reach-beta-bundled-with-halo-mach/">Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach beta bundled with Halo machine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Sep 2009 13:45:00 EST. GfK Chart-Track notes the Xbox 360 had a <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/xbox-360-sales-climb-43-percent-in-uk">43 percent sales increase</a> over the weekend in the UK, following the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/microsoft-confirms-xbox-360-price-cut-300-elite-on-friday-25/">price drop</a> which sent the console's Elite version to a friendlier &pound;199. With Sony's PS3 Slim model expected to hit the region this week, it'll be interesting to compare the percentage increase in sales for both consoles. We'd prefer actual sales numbers instead of percentages, but that's apparently not happening.<br /> <br /> To get a good grasp on the actual console sales, post price drop, it appears we'll have to wait for September's US <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/NPD/">NPD</a> figures, which won't be released until mid-October. At that time, we'll compare them to the August numbers to get a better idea of the price drop's impact. Exciting!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/01/xbox-360-sales-predictably-spike-in-uk-after-price-drop/">Xbox 360 sales predictably spike in UK after price drop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Sep 2009 15:30:00 EST. Now that the prices have been slashed on the Xbox 360 Elite, it would seem that the "Super Elite" is rising to take its pricey place. After <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/amazon-germany-lists-xbox-360-with-250gb-hdd-forza-3-two-wirel/">yesterday's reveal</a> of the 250GB beast on Amazon Germany, <a href="http://www.xboxgaming.co.za/news/250gb-xbox-360-super-elite-coming-to-sa-in-october/">XboxGaming.co.za</a> is reporting that the "Super Elite" console (with two wireless controllers and a copy of <em>Forza 3</em>) has been confirmed by local distributors as coming to South Africa, this October, for R4,999 ($644). XG's report also included an ad from local retailer BT Games, which touts a standard Super Elite bundle for R4699. <br /> <br /> The recently ordained South African distributor, Comztek, noted that HD cables would not be included in the box. Presumably, they're being saved for the Super Duper Elite.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/250-gb-super-elite-360-spotted-in-south-africa-too/">250 GB 'Super Elite' 360 spotted in South Africa too</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Aug 2009 10:30:00 EST. <em>Last night, just hours before the price cut announcement went out, we had a chance to talk with </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Aaron-Greenberg/"><em>Aaron Greenberg</em></a><em> - the often outspoken Director of Product Management at Xbox - about the new $300 Elite console, the company's Fall lineup in the absence of </em>Splinter Cell Conviction,<em> Netflix "exclusivity" (whatever that means), the (still!) outrageous price of the WiFi adapter, and whether we're ever going to see Hulu or Groups/Clan support in Xbox Live (those are two of our favorite questions for Aaron). Read on for the complete interview:</em><br /> <br /> <strong>Joystiq: Hey Aaron - so what do you have for us today? </strong><br /> <br /> Aaron Greenberg: So this may shock you, but effective on Friday we are dropping the price of our Xbox 360 Elite console by $100, dropping that down to $299. At the same time, we are also reducing the price of the Xbox 360 Pro or Premium 60 gig SKU down to $249 -- that will be effective while supplies last. And this will essentially set us up as we head into holiday with a two SKU setup: the $199 white Arcade SKU and then the $299 120 gig Elite black console.<br /> <br /> <strong>The Elite price is effective Friday?</strong><br /> <br /> Yes. The price drop goes into effect at retail on Friday.<br /> <br /> <strong>So of course we're totally surprised and had no idea this was coming, so any questions that might indicate I was prepared you should just take as good guessing on our part I think.</strong><br /> <br /> Right, exactly. So you don't read your own site or anything I guess?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/interview-xboxs-aaron-greenberg-on-the-300-elite-and-all-thin/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Interview: Xbox's Aaron Greenberg on the $300 Elite and all things Xbox</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/interview-xboxs-aaron-greenberg-on-the-300-elite-and-all-thin/">Interview: Xbox's Aaron Greenberg on the $300 Elite and all things Xbox</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Aug 2009 18:40:00 EST. Microsoft's VP of Interactive Entertainment Business in Europe, Chris Lewis, tells <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/microsofts-chris-lewis">GI.biz</a> that the removal of the HDMI cable from the Elite packaging was to enable more "flexibility to consumers who can then decide which type of cable they want for their specific gaming and TV screen set-up." Pardon us, but that's like saying Sub-Zero ripping out your spine gives your body more "flexibility." Of course, the drawback is that you're dead.<br /> <br /> Adding insult to injury, the new Elite bundle isn't just shipping sans HDMI cable, it has no HD cables at all; meaning that consumers now have even more <em>flexibility</em> to purchase better cables. While any old HDMI cable will do (<a href="http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?keyword=HDMI+cable&amp;x=0&amp;y=0">they're cheap too!</a>), the Xbox 360 component cable is proprietary and priced at $40 (as is the VGA cable). Want optical audio with your HDMI? That adapter's proprietary, too -- and $50. In fairness, PS3s don't ship with HD cables either (they do have an optical audio port, though), and that's always been a joke -- a joke that Microsoft is now in on.<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/xbox-360-elite-arcade-bundles-august-2009/">Xbox 360 Elite / Arcade Bundles (August 2009)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/xbox-360-elite-arcade-bundles-august-2009/#2238688"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/xbox-360-elite-vs-pro_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/xbox-360-elite-arcade-bundles-august-2009/#2238677"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/xbox-360-elite-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/xbox-360-elite-arcade-bundles-august-2009/#2238678"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/xbox-360-elite-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/xbox-360-elite-arcade-bundles-august-2009/#2238679"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/xbox-360-elite-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/xbox-360-elite-arcade-bundles-august-2009/#2238674"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/xbox-360-arcade-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/microsoft-dropping-hdmi-cable-gives-xbox-360-consumers-flexibi/">Microsoft: Dropping HDMI cable gives Xbox 360 consumers 'flexibility'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Aug 2009 12:03:00 EST. Surprising ... well, surprising exactly <em>no one, </em>Microsoft has announced a $100 price cut on its Xbox 360 Elite model, bringing the 120GB console down to price (if not feature) parity with Sony's recently revealed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/PS3-Slim/">PS3 Slim</a>. While the Elite will take the place of the 60GB Pro at $300 beginning this Friday (that's tomorrow!), the Pro will enjoy a temporary $50 price drop. We say "temporary" because, once those are sold out, that's it. The hard drive-less Xbox 360 Arcade unit remains at $200. <br />
<br />
While this $300 Xbox 360 Elite may have a fancy new package (see above) it's the same ol' Elite inside the box. But the rest of the bundle isn't quite the same: taking a page out of Sony's PS3 handbook, this cheaper package ditches HD cables entirely (accessory sales ahoy!) in favor of bundling a standard AV connector. Want HDMI? Get thee to <a href="http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&amp;cp_id=10240">Monoprice</a>.<br />
<br />
Most disappointing is that Microsoft continues to leave WiFi out of the Xbox, a console that - more than any other - excels in the online department. Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg told Joystiq, "We have not announced any change to our accessory pricing as part of this announcement." In other words, the WiFi adapter is not only missing from the console but, at $100, it's still insultingly expensive. Despite our misgivings about some of Microsoft's cost control measures, a $100 price drop on the 120GB Elite is nevertheless a welcome change ...<br />
<br />
... even if it's just (barely) keeping pace with Sony's WiFi-packing, Blu-ray having PS3 Slim. Look for more from our chat with Greenberg later today.<br />

In addition, the ad advertises Pro systems for $249.99 -- and both systems will have an extra controller thrown in. If this is <em>real</em>, it'll be in effect August 30. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/25/xbox-360-pro-and-elite-price-cuts-confirmed-in-target-ad-for-nex/#continued">Engadget</a> has a clearer shot of the ad.<br />

In addition, we received a tip from a Canadian game store manager who stated that because of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/23/rumor-discount-xbox-360-elite-halo-3-bundle-coming-to-canada/"><em>Halo 3</em> Elite bundle</a> available there (which is no longer on The Source's website -- we guess that retailer jumped the gun), current Elite bundles have been marked down to $349.99. A quick look at <a href="http://www.thesource.ca/estore/SearchResults.aspx?language=en-CA&amp;keywords=xbox+360+elite&amp;pagenum=0">The Source</a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&amp;field-keywords=xbox+360+elite&amp;x=0&amp;y=0">Amazon</a> verifies this claim.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/25/rumor-xbox-360-elite-pro-deals-revealed-by-target/">Rumor: Xbox 360 Elite, Pro deals revealed by Target</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Aug 2009 09:30:00 EST. The lifespan of the Xbox 360 Pro looks to be dwindling every day. First, the SKU <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/06/xbox-360-pro-listing-pulled-from-new-arcade-packaging/">disappeared from the comparison chart</a> on the Xbox 360 Arcade packaging, and now it looks like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/23/xbox-360-elite-in-white-package-in-the-wild-pro-sku-missing-on/">same change has occurred on the Xbox 360 Elite box</a>. Perhaps even more significant is that the Elite has abandoned its traditional (and super 1337) gray packaging for white. White, as it happens, is <em>also</em> the color of Xbox 360 Pro packaging. Coincidence, or proof that the Pro is on its last legs?<br /> <br /> One final bit of (somewhat depressing) evidence, the Elite box states that it only includes standard A/V cables. No component, no HDMI, just plain vanilla A/V. In fact, the only features separating the Elite from the Arcade are a headset, an Ethernet cable and the 120GB hard drive. Even assuming the Elite <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/rumor-wal-mart-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/">drops to $299</a>, that's not a lot of extras beyond the $199 Arcade model. At least Canada gets <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/23/rumor-discount-xbox-360-elite-halo-3-bundle-coming-to-canada/"><em>Halo 3</em> and a wireless adapter</a> to make the deal a little sweeter.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/24/360-pro-missing-from-new-elite-packaging/">Xbox 360 Pro missing from new Elite packaging</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Aug 2009 10:50:00 EST. Another day, another <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/rumor-wal-mart-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/">Xbox 360 Elite price cut rumor</a>. This time, said gossip comes to us in the form of a tipster (who wishes to remain anonymous), whose unnamed Canadian retail outlet is adding a new SKU to its store shelves -- a $349.99 Xbox 360 Elite bundle which includes a copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a> and a network adapter. Considering both of those items still carry <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=63851">fairly hefty</a> <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=40678">price tags</a>, that's one <em>heck</em> of a deal.<br /><br />Said tipster sent in four photos (the others are posted after the jump) and a supposed street date for the Canadian bundle -- August 28. Another interesting bit of info: The tipster also claimed that a new shipment of Xbox 360 Arcades carry no mention of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/26/rumor-ars-technica-mole-foretells-ps3-and-360-price-drop-in-fal/">supposedly-soon-to-be-phased-out Pro model</a>. If you're a Canadian retail employee who can shed some light onto the veracity of this new bundle, <a href="mailto:tips@joystiq.com?subject=Xbox 360 Price Cut Rumor">shoot us an email</a> -- and as always, we'll respect your anonymity. We'll also respect your anemones. And your enmity!<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> We've just received a tip pointing out that this very bundle is now available at The Source, a Circuit City affiliate based out of Canada. Get this -- <a href="http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&amp;catalog=Online&amp;category=XBOX360_Consoles&amp;product=5815522">the online offer</a> actually shows a $329.99 price tag for the whole kit-and-caboodle. Oh, man. This <em>ish</em> just got <em>real</em>, son. Last week, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/rumor-meijers-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/">a supposedly leaked Meijer's catalog revealed</a> a $100 price cut for the Xbox 360 Elite SKU -- we weren't sure what to make of it, but a recent Walmart catalog (due to hit stores on August 30) <a href="http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z46/patrickb2269/xbox/284143133829.jpg">revealing the <em>same exact</em> discount</a> adds a hefty amount of credence to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/26/rumor-ars-technica-mole-foretells-ps3-and-360-price-drop-in-fal/">rumors that Microsoft is dropping the price</a> on the console's 120GB SKU. You can see the full ad posted after the jump, courtesy of one of our readers (thanks, Patrick). <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/21/look-out-slim-xbox-360-elite-showing-299-in-new-walmart-ad/">A few</a> <a href="http://kotaku.com/5343009/yup-360-elite-goes-299-on-august-30">sites</a> have gotten the ad, presumably from different sources, leading us to believe it's not just a high-quality fake.<br /><br />If it is legitimate -- and the rumors of an Elite price cut end up being true -- then the flames of console war are likely ready to flare up once again. For the first time this console generation, Sony and Microsoft would have two SKUs available at the same price. The resulting struggle for market dominance would be <em>brutal</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/rumor-wal-mart-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rumor: Walmart catalog lists $100 price cut for Xbox 360 Elite</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/22/rumor-wal-mart-catalog-lists-100-price-cut-for-xbox-360-elite/">Rumor: Walmart catalog lists $100 price cut for Xbox 360 Elite</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 22 Aug 2009 11:00:00 EST. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5335673/elite-360-dropping-in-price-rip-pro-model">Kotaku recently got their hands on</a> a catalog from retail superstore Meijer's which is supposedly due to hit ... catalog stands(?) on August 30. The clipping of interest from this ad book is for a "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/price-cut">new lower price</a>" for the Xbox 360 Elite model -- it seems they're slicing $100 off the price of the system, bringing it down to the $299 price point shared by the Pro version.<br /><br />This fits in nicely with the grand design <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/26/rumor-ars-technica-mole-foretells-ps3-and-360-price-drop-in-fal/">foreseen by the Ars Technica mole</a> back in June, which claimed Microsoft would completely replace the Pro model with the Elite sometime in September. However, we called nearly a dozen Meijer's locations to try and confirm the cut -- only one Media Center employee had heard about it, and explained that it would be a "week-long sale," and not a permanent price drop.<br /><br />We're certain to find out more in the near future -- either on August 30, when the catalog (and Elite price) is supposed to drop, or perhaps next week during GamesCom, which some believe will provide a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/rumorang-ps3-slim-to-be-revealed-at-gamescom/">veritable cornucopia of startling announcements</a>.<br />

Reliable online retailer Newegg.com is having a <a href="http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/Aug-0-2009/48HOUR06/index-landing.html?nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL080609&amp;cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL080609-_-email-_-E0-_-click&amp;cm_lm=b1gc72@gmail.com">48-hour sale</a> wherein "recertified" Xbox 360 Elites are <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16868105021&amp;nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL080609&amp;cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL080609-_-Xbox360Systems-_-LE2B-_-68105021">available for $260</a>. That's $140 dollars off the regular price! For those of you hesitant about that word being attached to the special, Newegg defines "recertified" as "<span>products which have been retested to ensure compliance with original manufacturer specifications in function and for purposes related to warranty." Think of it as the game console equivalent of a "previously owned" </span>car.<br />
<br />
We should note that with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/06/xbox-360-pro-listing-pulled-from-new-arcade-packaging/">mumblings of the Pro becoming extinct</a>, the normally $400 Elite may take a price tumble soon. Just something to think about.<br />

Today, Microsoft revealed a new Xbox 360 Elite bundle headed to store shelves this May. The Xbox 360 Game of the Year bundle includes the little-known online shooter called <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo-3/">Halo 3</a></em> and Joystiq's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2008-fable-2/">2008 game of the year</a> pick, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-2/">Fable II</a></em>. The M-rated bundle is priced at $399, making the two million-plus unit selling pack-in titles free of charge.<br /><br />Those of you keeping score at home will remember rumors of an elite bundle, which was set to include the two Microsoft Game Studios powerhouse titles, had been floating around the web <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/10/rumor-400-xbox-360-elite-bundle-features-halo-3-and-fable-2/">earlier this month</a>. Microsoft, continuing a long history of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/sources-xbox-360-price-cut-week-of-sept-7-60gb-299-elite-3/"><em>totally</em> being able to keep a secret</a>, confirmed the bundle today via <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/04/20/announcing-the-xbox-360-game-of-the-year-bundle.aspx">Major Nelson's blog</a>.<br /><br /><em>Update:</em> Major Nelson has clarified this bundle will be available in all regions where Xbox 360 is sold, except those in Europe.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/20/shock-ms-reveals-new-xbox-elite-bundle-with-halo-3-fable-ii/">Shock! $400 will get you a lot these days. You can buy yourself any of the existing major consoles on the market, or you soon <em>might</em> be able to buy Microsoft's newer and more improved <a href="http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/04/exclusive-400-360-elite-bundle-with-halo-3-and-fable-2.ars">Elite console bundle</a>. Word is that Microsoft will be jam-packing its existing Elite bundles with copies of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a>, you know, <em>just for fun</em>. The best part is, the console won't be increasing in price. The bad news is that you're now furious if you already bought an Elite console.<br /><br />Ars Technica says that we'll have confirmation on this rumor by the end of next week, so that leaves us little time for the confirmation/debunking party. Who's on chips and dip duty?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/10/rumor-400-xbox-360-elite-bundle-features-halo-3-and-fable-2/">Rumor: $400 Xbox 360 Elite bundle features Halo 3 and Fable 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 14:35:00 EST. It's not just cholesterol and square burgers that Wendy's is serving up, but gaming gear as well. A tipster sends word that the "waaaay better than fast food" fast food chain is running an online promotion called '<a href="http://www.99centbidforvalue.com/">99&cent; Bid for Value</a>,' with an "Ultimate Game Room" to be won for $1. <br /><br />The catch? This is a "reverse auction," with visitors answering trivia questions in order to bid down a prize's price tag. The first auction-goer to reach 99&cent; first wins the haul, with an Xbox 360, gaming chair and plasma television all up for grabs. A different prize is set to go up on the blocks every half hour starting at 11am EST today. The auction breaks down like this:<br />
<ul>
    <li>11:00 AM EST - 11:29 AM EST Microsoft - Xbox 360 Elite Console</li>
    <li>11:30 AM EST - 11:59 AM EST Ultimate Game Chair - Ultimate Game Chair V3</li>
    <li>12:00 PM EST - 12:29 PM EST Panasonic - 50" 720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV</li>
    <li>12:30 PM EST - 12:59 PM EST Ultimate Game Room - Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console, Ultimate Game Chair V3, Panasonic - 50" 720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV </li>

As a result, Microsoft may be limiting the console's sales to select retailers in North America and Europe and stop taking Elite orders in other territories sometime during Q2.<br /><br />The rumored Elite phase-out would allow it to be marketed as a "limited edition" offering, giving MS the option to sell specially themed (and possibly higher priced) Elite bundles when triple-A titles need promotion. (Think the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/red-resident-evil-5-xbox-360-bundle-its-real/"><em>Resident Evil 5</em> Elite bundle</a>.) Fudzilla also mentions that Microsoft wants to expand the 360's storage capabilities by releasing a standalone drive that's larger than the Elite's current 120GB model.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/06/rumor-xbox-elite-being-phased-out-assuming-limited-edition-re/">Rumor: Xbox Elite being phased out, assuming 'limited edition' retail role</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Mar 2009 14:54:00 EST. In a quest to end the bitterness between the Xbox 360 and the color red, Microsoft appears to be reconciling the two in a new Xbox 360 Elite SKU. The unannounced product has stumbled into the public eye much in the same way that many of Microsoft's secrets do -- first <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/23/rumor-xbox-360-to-receive-red-sident-evil-5-bundle/">a rumor</a>, then <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/16/red-xbox-360-spotted-in-toys-r-us-product-database/">a retailer inventory listing</a> and then an innocent mention in a New Zealand-bound press release.<br /><br />Alright, maybe that last one doesn't quite adhere to the formula, but according to <a href="http://kotaku.com/5156170/red-xbox-360-mentioned-officially-by-microsoft">Kotaku</a>, an MS New Zealand promotion for the upcoming release of <em>Halo Wars</em> -- buy a 360, get a free copy of the game! -- explicitly excluded "the Red Xbox 360 Elite console which is exclusive to EB games." You know, that one that hasn't been announced, and that certainly won't be announced "<a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ms-quiet-on-red-xbox-360-rumours">at this time</a>."<br /><br />Though mention of the system has been stricken from the <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/community/news/2009/0219-HaloWarsBundle.htm">online version</a> of the press release, we'd be immensely disappointed if the system, whether tied to <em>Resident Evil 5</em> or not, failed to make an appearance. We can't let all these Red Rig of Death jokes go to waste!<br /><br /><a href="http://kotaku.com/5156170/red-xbox-360-mentioned-officially-by-microsoft">Source</a> -- Red Xbox 360 Mentioned Officially by Microsoft<br /><a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ms-quiet-on-red-xbox-360-rumours">Source</a> -- MS quiet on red Xbox 360 rumors<br /><a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/community/news/2009/0219-HaloWarsBundle.htm">Source</a> -- Halo Wars Promotion<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/19/red-xbox-360-elite-mentioned-in-ms-press-release/">Red Xbox 360 Elite mentioned in MS press release</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Feb 2009 11:10:00 EST. Microsoft <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/09/16/ms-confirms-new-wave-of-euro-xbox-360-price-cuts-129-179-arca/">announced</a> today that Europe would be joining North America in receiving an Xbox 360 price cut. The UK will receive a &pound;30 reduction across all three models, while those on the mainland will receive varied reductions for their Euros.<br />
<ul>
    <li>Xbox 360 Arcade - &pound;129 / &euro;179 </li>
    <li>60GB Pro - &pound;169 / &euro;239</li>
    <li>120GB Elite - &pound;229 / &euro;299</li>
</ul>
The previous prices were &pound;159 / &euro;199 for the Arcade, &pound;199 / &euro;269 for Pro and &pound;259 / &euro;369 for the Elite. We'll have to wait and see if the price drop <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/11/microsoft-xbox-360-sales-double-following-price-drop/">doubles sales</a> in Europe like it allegedly did in North America.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/16/europe-receiving-xbox-360-price-cut-on-sept-19/">Europe receiving Xbox 360 price cut on Sept. 19</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Sep 2008 10:30:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/03/xbox-360-price-cuts-official-60gb-299-elite-399-arcade-199/">recent Xbox 360 price cut</a> doubled sales of the console last weekend, according to Microsoft. The company tells <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601204&amp;sid=ajZ_LMK1ZdRg&amp;refer=technology">Bloomberg</a> that some consoles sold "six times" the previous weekend's rate ... of course, Microsoft didn't actually give any hard sales numbers.<br /><br />For actual sales data since the price cut, it appears we'll have to wait another month for the NPD data -- unless Microsoft just comes out with it. The August <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/npd">NPD</a> data (which should release very soon) won't reflect the alleged jump in sales. <br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/xbox-360-sales-double-following-price-drop/?biz=1">GameDaily</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/11/microsoft-xbox-360-sales-double-following-price-drop/">Microsoft: Xbox 360 sales double following price drop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 11 Sep 2008 10:30:00 EST. The Xbox 360's continued struggle to win the hearts, minds and tightly shut wallets of Japanese gamers is not without benefits for tardy adopters. Microsoft has announced a <a href="http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080901/japan_microsoft_xbox.html?.v=1">new price drop</a> for the system in the region, with the Xbox 360 Arcade model costing 19,800 yen ($180) as of September 11th. The nearly 30% drop will make the system the cheapest of the current-gen bunch -- and yes, that includes the Wii, you snarkastic lot sitting at the back.<br /><br />In addition, the 60GB Xbox 360 will be introduced to Japan at 29,800 yen ($270), while the Elite will have its price chopped to 39,800 yen ($370).<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/01/nikkei-xbox-360-price-drops-to-182-in-japan/">Engadget</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/01/not-big-in-japan-xbox-360s-price-tag/">Not big in Japan: Xbox 360's price tag</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Sep 2008 12:30:00 EST. <br />It appears that two of the Xbox 360 SKUs will receive a $50 price drop by the week of Sept. 7, making the 60GB model $299 and the Elite $399 -- <strike>we've yet to hear <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/01/rumor-more-360-price-cuts-in-september/">any change on the $279 Arcade</a></strike> meanwhile, the Arcade will drop $80 to $199. A few of our retail contacts, some of whom have given us good intel in the past and who all work for separate corporations, have sent us identical information regarding a price drop. Evidence of the Elite and Arcade price cut can be found in the gallery below.<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: Oh mercy, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/leipzig-08">it's been a long day</a>. The Arcade is marked as $199 in the flyer as well (under the TV, to the left). Thanks, Strike Man.<br /><br />[Thanks Patrick, Master X, and everyone else who helped.]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/radio-shack-xbox-360-elite-price-drop/">Radio Shack Xbox 360 Elite/Arcade price drop</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/radio-shack-xbox-360-elite-price-drop/#989656"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/rsxb3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/radio-shack-xbox-360-elite-price-drop/#989655"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/rsxb2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/radio-shack-xbox-360-elite-price-drop/#989654"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/08/rsxb1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/sources-xbox-360-price-cut-week-of-sept-7-60gb-299-elite-3/">Sources: Xbox 360 price cut week of Sept. 7; 60GB $299, Elite $399, Arcade $199</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Aug 2008 20:00:00 EST. If you're stlll Xbox 360-less and looking for a deal, then don't bother with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/13/microsoft-confirms-xbox-360-60gb-for-349-20gb-now-at-299/">$299 clearance-sale 20GB Xbox 360</a> ... or the new $349 60GB 360 for that matter. Dell.com has the $450 Xbox 360 Elite for the low, low price of $299. But that's not all! If you act now (or, presumably, at any point between now and when they inevitably sell out) you'll also get copies of <em>Marvel: Ultimate Alliance</em> and <em>Forza 2</em>, along with two rather unseemly faceplates.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> The promotion has ended -- it's back to $450.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/08/06/dell-selling-xbox-360-elite-bundle-for-299/">X3F</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/dell-com-299-xbox-360-elite-2-games-2-faceplates/">Dell.com: $299 Xbox 360 Elite, 2 games, 2 faceplates [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Aug 2008 17:41:00 EST. While not quite as widespread as this morning's nationwide <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/13/microsoft-confirms-xbox-360-60gb-for-349-20gb-now-at-299/">$50 pricecut (aka: clearance sale)</a> on the 20GB Xbox 360 Pro, the Xbox 360 Elite wasn't content sitting around while its kid brother gobbles up all the attention (and sales). For what we presume will be a limited time only, Amazon is cutting $50 off the still-$450 Elite, making the HDMI-enabled, 120GB console seductively affordable. Now, if someone would just pay some attention to the $280 Xbox 360 Arcade, we'd have a price-cut hat trick.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/13/sku-too-xbox-360-elite-for-400-at-amazon/">SKU too? Head over to the <a href="http://www.goozex.com/welcome/tag.htm">contest page</a> for more details.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/08/win-a-360-elite-from-talking-about-games/">Win a 360 elite from Talking About Games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Apr 2008 14:45:00 EST.
