Independent music publisher and licensor Royalty Network states that the song "Evacuate the Dance Floor" was requested for use in a game titled Your Shape Wii U.

Given that Your Shape is already available on the Wii, it's not too surprising to see it heading to Wii U. Our only concern is how the Wiipad will be able to support our body weight. And you can forget about multiplayer.
Your Shape heading to Wii U, music licensing suggests originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 22 Mar 2012 11:30:00 EST. Ubisoft just announced a new version of Your Shape: Fitness Evolved at its E3 press conference, set to arrive in stores for Kinect later on this November. The short teaser didn't reveal much but the obvious -- that it's an update of the fitness title, with the same basic exercises and activities and likely a few new ones.

The trailer also mentioned a goal -- overall, Ubisoft promised a goal of one billion calories for all players, and then asked what your goal was. Amazon has spent the whole pre-Thanksgiving week offering themed sales, and today it's "Stocking Stuffers," which translates to "really cheap games."

For example, you can get Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on Xbox for $10 today, or Metal Gear Solid 4 for $13. In addition, today's Lightning Deal, beginning at 1PM EST/10AM PST, promises to tell "the story behind a legendary Nintendo protagonist" -- suggesting a deal on Metroid: Other M. See more deals after the break, and the full list at Amazon. Call to mind Wii Sports' tennis, and you don't have to stretch your imagination too much further to arrive at Ubisoft's Racquet Sports. If you own a Wii, you already own this experience, to which Ubisoft has added some variety, including ping-pong, badminton, squash, and beach tennis, and a more fleshed-out art direction than Nintendo's pack-in or even its sequel, Wii Sports Resort. There's no Mii support, but Racquet Sports offers its own dollish avatars, customized with unlockable trinkets. There's a derivative multicultural vibe, too, as the characters and playing courts span the globe in classic and fantastic scenarios. Grandma vs. dashiki-clad boy in an aquarium squash court? Yes.

Of course, the experience you don't own is "tennis" played with a motion-tracking camera. No, not Natal -- not at all. Ubisoft's USB camera, first bundled with scarcely-reviewed Your Shape (featuring Jenny McCarthy), might be on the cutting edge of a revived and revamped gaming tech trend, but its implementation in Racquet Sports is painfully dull.
Ubisoft is cleverly aiming not just at the Wii Sports Resort audience, thanks to MotionPlus compatibility, but also the people who bought Your Shape and would feel weird about having a camera that works with just one game.

Racquet Sports includes tennis, ping-pong, badminton, squash, and beach tennis (which totally counts as a separate sport). It features various single-player and multiplayer modes, including a Party Mode with randomized, "wacky rules." There's no word on how the camera peripheral will interact with the game, though our money's on "your face as an avatar" more than camera-based controls. Racquet Sports will be in stores by March 2010, though you may not see it behind the ten thousand other games also being released that month.

Ubisoft has released a video for GamesCom highlighting Your Shape, the Jenny McCarthy-endorsed, camera-focused exergame for Wii. The video highlights the game's camera, giving us a good look at the device and an explanation behind the technology powering it (hint: it's not rocket science). While it bares resemblance to Project Natal, unlike Microsoft's peripheral, Ubisoft's device and Your Shape will actually be out this year -- more precisely, this December. We know, it's a crazy concept for a game to release during the 2009 holidays.
Your first look at Your Shape's camera originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 20 Aug 2009 16:00:00 EST. Oh, wipe that smug little smirk off your face, mister. We've already established that Jenny McCarthy is more hardcore than you are. Now, the Red Alert 3 performer is teaming with Ubisoft for Your Shape featuring Jenny McCarthy. If you can remember all the way back to E3 '09, you'll recall the original announcement of Your Shape, the Wii exercise game that utilizes a packed-in camera.

Boy, it seems like a lucky break that Ubisoft got Jenny McCarthy, considering it put her name right in the title. Imagine how embarrassing it would have been if she'd been unavailable!
Ubisoft releasing Your Shape featuring Jenny McCarthy originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 13 Aug 2009 18:15:00 EST. Ubisoft has revealed a camera-based fitness game, coming this holiday season for the Wii. Your Shape comes with a custom USB camera that plugs right into your Wii, and will use the visual input to determine whether you're slim or sloppy, and then give you a trainer-based workout designed to send you in the right direction.

It's a good thing Ubisoft is being so innovative here -- the Wii fitness market is virtually untapped so far. Could a game with a casual interface designed with the promise of a more healthier lifestyle actually sell? We'll have to wait and see -- the bundle is due out sometime this year.
Your Shape determines your shape with a camera originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 22:22:00 EST.
