360 BC update "in the next few weeks"

Thanks to the folks at the Gamerscore Blog, we've learned that the next Xbox back compat update "should be out in the next few weeks."

In his earlier blast against BC, Peter Moore proclaimed that nobody is concerned about it anymore, but thankfully the gentler Gamerscore peeps have set the record straight, stating: "We know for a fact that there are lots of people who continue to care about backwards compatibility, including the 'Emulation Ninjas' who are working full time on the updates. And those of us posting on this blog. And, of course, many of you."

We suppose quarterly updates to the BC list aren't TOO bad (hey, they sure beat semiannual dashboard updates), but getting more than a dozen titles to work each time would definitely help a lot more for those with original Xbox favorites they'd prefer to play on their new machines. Personally, this blogger would like to see the following titles added to the list: Dead or Alive Ultimate, Doom 3, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Project Gotham Racing 2, LEGO Star Wars, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, Soul Calibur II, and Capcom Classics Collection. It may not be realistic to expect Street Fighter support when Hyper Fighting is set to hit Live Arcade sometime in the near future, but one can (vainly) hope.

I'm not exactly sure where you're going with that, sabre, but I'm feeling quite a bit of resentment behind that sentiment. Please stay on-topic (while avoiding the oblique slights) and I think we'll all be better off. I can almost see where this discussion is leading, so please stop with the insults against the site "editors" and I won't have to delete any more of your comments. Seriously. I'm trying to be lenient, but fail to heed this warning, and more severe moderation will have to be enacted.

As an addendum to what I just posted, I should note that I would not even have responded to comments from a more blatant baiter/troll. Then the procedure would have simply been to ban and be done with it.

The previous comment was for your sake and for the sake of those reading: giving fair warning for what almost seems inevitable at this point (as I wait for more complaining about the site "editors" and how they moderate). Stop mocking those who run the site (or fingering that one bad guy of a blogger) and I'm sure you'll be more than welcome here in the future. It's your continuing disrespectful behavior that's earning you negative stars even now. (Not taking heed of moderators' advice? Not a good idea. Responding to trolls in kind? Not such a good idea, either.)

I implore you to take a different tack with your comments. Stop attacking the people in charge of this site, and you'll probably get a lot more respect in return. Keep up the blame game, and you're probably sealing your own fate. Your choice.
