Man...all these Final Fantasy games made me realize that I still haven't finished FFXII. Better get my butt in gear!

Hey Squeenix how about we finish FFXIII and FFXIII versus within the next year please. I haven't seen anything from versus in quite a long time. Is there a possibility the MMO come out first? And btw does anyone else not like the fact they numbered XI and XIV as if they were like the others? I personally think the online ones should have a spin-off title buy hey maybe thats just me.

I don't see any screenshots. All I see are pictures of a prerendered trailer with no gameplay footage.

Screens 7 to 10 are gameplay, or at least rendered in the engine. You can see those images at higher resolution if you watch the 720p/1080p trailer on the site.

Rendered in engine still isn't the game.

Hrm.. how pretty the cutscenes doesn't interest me because they always look good. I wonder if Square can deliver a decent in-game experience though.

If this game is even REMOTELY similar to FFXI Online.. well, then I will have officially given up on Squarenix and will outright no longer purchase any of their games.

FFXI was terribly, terribly designed and didn't let players do much of anything that was remotely fun. I hope FFXIV is insanely different.

As a FFXI player for almost 3 years now, I can say I (and most of the FFXI community that I have discussed this with) am very excited for this. I think that moving away from the so-called "ps2 limitations" that have held ffxi back will give this game a much greater potential than ffxi could ever acheive. I will with near certainty be switching over to this MMO when it is released. I think SE will have learned from some of their mistakes that are hard to fix once established (long grind times, everything party based, etc.). They will be able to take what worked with ff11 and ditch what didn't work. I can't wait to see this game, as I know it has enormous potential to be one of the best MMOs yet.

I hate MMO's... though I might try The Old Republic...

So it's not about consoles, I hated FF Online on the Xbox as well.

Way to jump to assumptions...

Why would you do this Square? Why? I hate MMOs. Hate them, full of hate for them.

Maybe because SE isn't accounting for the "Sad, angry little man" demographic.

FFXI had no shortage of subscribers to begin with, but if they can improve on those things from the first game that turned people off and made them move to WoW back when it was released, they stand to draw in even more players. Your anti-MMO bias aside, you might be surprised at how many people are going to be watching how this game develops.

If there aren't any subscription fees, count me in for sure. I haven't played any MMOs in a while, might as well waste a bit of time on this one.

This will be on Xbox 360 too, just like XI eventually was and XIII will be. They're developing it for PC so there's no reason not to port it to 360 as well. Even so, by the time this is out both consoles will be at the end of their life cycle so it might end up on the next consoles as well, (a la XI)

Final Fantasy XI is still insanely popular in Japan. That probably plays a huge role in the PS3 exclusivity of XIV, since the 360 is failing in Japan.

I'm excited about this, but like others have been saying, hope you don't have to always party up to level up, like playing with others of course but sometimes prefer to just play alone. Also would have prefer new looking characters, im sure the game will look great, but hope it isn't just an upgrade to XI with improvements.

Those few scenes that were real from that trailer look fantastic, if unfinished. I can't wait :)

As mentioned above, though, please PLEASE make this more accessible to "casual" users. Casual is in quotes because I plan on playing a lot, but not 30+ hours a week. I want to be able to get some stuff done in a few hours a week while still being able to not waste time. Bah! So much needs saying about this game I can't get myself to stfu!

This was the biggest shocker of E3 for me, I was like "No Jack, you mean FF vs XIII"... but then the video ran and I was awestruck. Beautiful, nice music also.

I played XI for a while, but gave up because of the monthly fee. I really want to know how much they plan on charging for this.

I thought numbered games were supposed to be different from previous games and not sequels. From the looks of this we still have the XI races including Giraffe elves and the ever popular asexual manbearpigs. Maybe they should have called this FF 11-2. =/

Why does anyone even care that its numbered? It's not like the numbers mean anything. FF1 had NOTHING to do with FF2 or 3 or 4 and so on. The numbers are just a way to keep track of them without having to make crappy captions like some games.
