I'm surprised there have been so few comments mentioning Crash. It was my first console game so it holds great memories for me. I have all the original Crash games on my PSP and I still play them regularly. I've never played Jak though =O Sadly it seems like Naughty Dog have established a pattern where they release a game and three sequels for each generation, as Viking mentioned, with a racing game to top it!

PS1:
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
Crash Team Racing

PS2:
Jak & Daxter: The Precusor Legacy
Jak II
Jak 3
Jak X: Combat Racing

PS3:
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Uncharted 2: Among Theives
Uncharted 3 ???
Uncharted: Racing :P

We can hope that Crash or Jak will be back, but it seems unlikely. Naughty Dog know when to stop and that is reflected by the quality of their games.

At the time of publishing the PSOne games Naughty Dog was being published by Universal Interactive. The rights to ND's titles belonged to Universal. In other words, Crash will never appear again in a ND game.

I also enjoyed the Crash games (CTR is still the best Kart game out there) but I enjoyed even more Jak and Daxter. Now I am enjoying Nathan Drake more than the previous characters.

For one I applaud a developer that has no problem to innovate each generation and give us something new. I look forward to what ND will do once they move on from Uncharted.

We could definitely use more platformers, but I wouldn't mind a new character.

Hmm, in the ND HQ when you walk in they have tons of Jak stuff on display to (I'm guessing) remind themselves of the great game they created. You never know...

lol, I named myself after that guy (4th grade started spelling my nake jak instead of jack)

Anyway, It depends on what you prefer.

Jak and Daxter was a great game, yet got a little repetitive. While there were plenty of different locations (a ton) you were always doing the same thing. The cool thing was the eco power ups and the zoomer sequences, but thats it.

Jak II is my favorite game of all time. Countless missions, plenty of side missions, open world city thing, and a lot of out of city locations, in which every time you went back, you had a new section that was there before, but you didn't notice. The gunplay was cool and not overdone, and the platforming sequences were the perfect difficulty (as in "Dude, you cant just run around and shoot stuff, and because you weren't careful, you're getting sent back a considerable amount of play time")

Jak 3 was okay... it was too short, and not enough jak. I haven't played it in 5 years though, so maybe I'm a bit off... There were too many guns and vehicles, if you like that, just get Jak X (also amazing)

My opinion:

If you like pure platforming, Jak and Daxter. If you like you some guns and want a challenge (In addition to the longest game to complete-not a bad thing) then Jak II. IMO the best of the series.

Would you guys stop complaining. You haven't even played it.! Your listening to a guy who has played, not the full game, but a perhaps outdated preview code. They would of fixed some of hte problems by now. You must remeber that developers polish of their project before releasing. I should know I am a developer. I did it with my project. It's a way of mis-leading people. But then bring out the epic creation.

I'm not saying this is what HIG is doing but it could be what they are doing. So all of you saying your give it a miss. Shut up! Wait for the final version to get a review. Then make your decision. If you give it a miss, fair enough, But I want you to give it a chance.
