I've never even heard of MOD4. Now MW2? How did that clusterfuck of a story get on this list?

I use the title of MW2 for MechWarrior 2, for reference. You should be able to figure out the rest.

I think this list is proof that Hollywood doesn't take video games to seriously. I mean MW2 had an amazing action filled campaign but the storyline was pretty lame.

It would be the equivalent if they voted Avatar or Transformers as having the best story of 2009.

I can tell there is going to be an incoming shit storm for these nominations.

Only Uncharted 2 belongs on the list out of all the nominees. Also, where is Dragon Age?

To be fair, Uncharted 2 probably would've won even if they nominated every game released in '09, so it's not like the others matter much

MW2 storyline is beyond terrible. Assassins Creed 2 was such an awesome game but the story was certainly lame.

Agreed that Uncharted 2 is the only title that deserves to be on that list.

here is the dialogue of Wet:

"FUCK YOU FUCKERS IM A FUCKIN GIRL SAYIN FUCK THATS SO FUCKIN EDGY HOOOOAH *shoots dudes with terrible controls*"

it's a truly awful game and its visual style and soundtrack were the only things it had going for it.

To be fair if the plot and script were written by two different people, the script was pretty good.

But the plot isn't even supposed to be ridiculous and just ends up that way, sometimes I hate the 6th sense for starting the twist ending fad, this game didn't need one and would have benefited that way.

bionic commando has the single worst and stupidest twist I have ever seen in a game and I doubt it'll ever be surpassed.

With films, they take into account the entire screenplay, not just the in game dialog and text. I'd nominate 'Splosion Man on the character quirks alone.

If I remember correctly, neither Portal or Mass Effect were nominated in their respective year... So screw these awards.

It's better than "SPACE MUTANTS ATTACK"
Marine 1: "Let's KICK some ass"
MArine 2: "I got your back"
Marine 3: "Oh shit. They have guns!!!!"

Honestly, being high was the best part about that game.

MW2: 10 pages of script repeating "history is written by the victors!" and "We're Oscar Mike!"

Wow, real profound, I don't think any western philosopher has ever put forth such elegant statements.

What the fuck? WET had like, 20 lines of dialogue total, and they were mostly "fuck you". And fucking Wolverine? This has gotta be a sham or something, at least they put Uncharted 2 on there though

Wolverine was a total mess of an alternate version of the movie plot (how the hell do all the same encounters happen to Logan in totally different ways?!!!) and a stand alone game. It was a disaster. The whole "let's flip back-and-forth between the present and the past" story telling mechanic was terrible. There was no reason to time jump every 20 minutes.

Wolverine is an example of horrible game writing.

Look, I play as much (or more) MW2 as the next guy and have loved CoD since its PC debut, but MW2's plot was absolutely awful. Uncharted 2, on the other hand, had great characters and dialog and fully deserves its nomination.

So, the WGA is giving out awards to themselves. Way to go, WGA! Give yourself a pat on the back. Oh wait, you just did.

Seriously, the only games applicable are games they made? That's the most narcissistic practice I've seen since.... ever. Wow. I have no precedent for this.

No, because that takes into account all movies. (Well, not independent films.) the WGA is completely excluding any games they didn't make themselves. That's like saying "Sure, there were lots of great narratives, but we didn't make them, so they don't count." At least the emmys are impartial, if likely rigged.

worst show ever - do NOT be fooled by the 5-star reviews!, January 17, 2009
By David Hroar Soltau Larsson (Copenhagen, Denmark) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the worst show ever produced - taking advantage of Seinfeld fans misguided loyalty, and the wrongful thought, that since this is made by Larry Davis, it has to be good... it don't!
After a couple of episodes (if you actually get this deep into it before throwing away the dvd's) you realise that the dialogue actually follows the same structure and speech patterns that Seinfeld does - only this show has no proper actors or comedians to deliver the lines.
It's stiff, slow, tries to hard but keeps on failing, annoying, embarrassing and quite frankly a disaster.
I have no idea who these guys are that gives this 5 stars, but they have to be family of Larry's.
I bought the entire series based on the stupid 5 star reviews and the fact that I too thought that 'Larry Davis, this can only be good' - but I've had to through the dvd's out without even seeing all the episodes.
Waste of time and money!!!
