@BananaBoat - It's worse than the original, and that is sort of the cardinal sin of video games in my opinion. If you are going to make a game, don't make one by re-using the world from a previous game, adding awful zombies, and then having the same mission repeat nine times until the game is over.

The game is literally:

Capture points on map --> Protect Charging Beacon ---> Repeat

The only other content is orb collection. There are races, but they just add to your stats. The ultimate stab in the balls comes when you get to the fifth level of agility, and it tells you you're maxed out, but that you get a "wing suit". Upon trying out the wing suit, you immediately realize that it is useless. There aren't even any new tall buildings to climb in the game (the agency climb is the exact same).

I'm glad I rented instead of buying. I'm saddened that 200k+ people got suckered into wasting their money on the game though, and I can't believe that they released it as a full priced title. It would barely qualify as an expansion pack.

Saddened? I had way more than $60 worth of fun out of that game, and I'd imagine most of that 200k did as well.

You see, Crackdown is the kind of game that people that just want to have some fun with get 10x their money's worth out of. The people that buy games to compare feature lists and count pixels don't enjoy it. It's just pure fun.

Granted, I'll readily admit that it was barely a step up over the first game (I preferred the boss mission structure to the beacon mission structure), but if it gave me my money's worth of fun (and then some), what is there to complain about?

@Vcize - It didn't bother you that there was only one mission in the entire game, and that it repeated nine times, or that the city was exactly the same except for some minor geometry changes? Did it not bother you that aiming is completely broken in the game, with random (far away no less) barrels often being the thing you auto lock onto instead of enemies a foot away?

I just don't get it. If the mechanics are what is fun for you, you could have played the first game again and experienced the exact same mechanics, without spending sixty dollars. I didn't need a Final Fantasy level story out of the game either, but some story beyond "kill the freaks...agent" would have been nice.

I can't sum it up any better than Jeff from Giant Bomb "Crackdown 2's open nature can lead to some cool moments, but even the cool moments feel like they were lifted directly from the previous game."

My sentiments exactly.
That game was painful to play.

Little things helped though, co-op made it bearable, and the avatar awards are decent enough.

Yes it mainly sells in the US but halo 3 sold 4 million copies outside the US which is a very good amount so I would say it has a good international pull all games have there main region of sales like final fantasy is Japan. It sold well else where but not as good as it did in Japan.

the xbox is a good system i prefer the ps3 personally but, i will say that both xbox and ps3 are way better then the wii = ps2 dressed up like a mac. I know a lot of friends that have bought the wii and they regret it a lot there whole families got bored with it yes even the kids ignored it and prefered playing the 360 or ps3. I could have bought a wii before but, i was never interested it too much shovel whare.

Okay so you are saying Halo 3 being the first major console game to have forge not a big deal or Halo CE completely revolutionizing th FPS genre to bring consoles to become the dominant platforms for FPS's a big deal? Also judging buy the complete backing up of you arguments you really have no reason except personal opinion. So please reply to me with the article that shows how everyone who buys Halo games are idiots. Oh and down below is a wikipedia article talking about halo as a franchise and its impact.

Xbox beats the DS?? That's pretty epic. I'll be getting the newly designed console this holiday with Halo/CoD/Fable3... think they'll make a console bundle with those three? they should!

I must admit, since I bought a 360 two weeks ago (previously a PS3 guy up until then), it's so refreshing to read articles like this with non-biased eyes. Very liberating.
