Killzone 3 'Helghast Edition' includes tiny helmet

The Killzone 3 site unveiled the game's $130 "Helghast Edition," which only makes Killzone's perceived status as Sony's Halo equivalent more pronounced. For example, Halo 3's "Legendary Edition" included a miniature Spartan helmet, and Killzone 3's Helghast Edition includes -- surprise -- a miniature Helghast helmet.

The helmet "opens to reveal art book, Super Voucher and Killzone 3 game." That "Super Voucher" grants access to a soundtrack, a dynamic theme, a Retro Map Pack of two Killzone 2 maps, and full weapon and ability access and double XP for the first 24 hours of multiplayer. In addition to all that, there's an even smaller Helghast in the package -- a 6.5-inch "Cloaking Helghast" figure.

Notably absent from the package: "Helghast goggles," the "Blood and Thunder" pack, or a gift card, as revealed on the Killzone 3 site last week. Either that stuff is reserved for a European special edition, or it was merely placeholder text.

Awww... the goggles would have been cool too but that detailed helmet is still pretty nice.

My cat will be SOOO HAPPY!!

It's all cool and the collectables are neat I suppose...but I would never, ever pay this kind of money for a video game. But for collector's, have at it.

I learned my lesson with the Legendary Edition.

Hell, even I picked one up for $20, and I didn't even have a 360 then.

As awesome as it looks, I'm never going to spend more than $100 on a single game.

Can you fit this helmet inside the Halo 3 one?
or put one on each cat and have them duke it out.

Pretty damn cool but I wish they didn't have that unlock all weapons and abilities. Whats the point of playing if you get everything handed to you?

I wish I could just get the extras without the game since that helmet and figure look very very cool, but the FPS Killzones just don't do anything for me (I did really enjoy the PSP game though.)

They say the blood and thunder pack is missing... It says right above it 2 Killzone 2 maps?.. lol

You know, these extras are usually worth closer to $90 or so imo. Even the Black Ops Prestige edition with the spy car... I'd pay like $30 for that spy car tops. It's neat, but not worth $90 over the standard edition, or more accurately, $70 over the Hardened edition.

I'd probably fork over $90 for this too, but not $130.

I meant the special editions should be closer to $90, not the extras. Lol. The whole point is that the extras are NOT worth the $70-$90 over the standard editions.

They market this game using the helghast, but they can't seem to realize that the people would rather play as them.

Killzone 2 had a story? It should have been called Killzone 2: The Marvelous Misadventures of Rico Velasquez.

I will have it in my mind if the artbook is like those included in the collector's edition of Bioshock 2 or Starcraft II, A4 Hardcover and over 100 pages. But not again a few artworks in some papers folded like they did with god of War III or so many other games, it's like a joke -_-

I normally wouldn't spend over 80 on a CE.. But man, this is tempting.

I hope this CE comes over to europe and i mean that the content from US is the same as EU.

dammit....You got me Sony...tho I would have preferred Helghast Goggles instead of a small helmet....but ehhhhh.....24 hours of Double XP tho? if they keep the scoring like they have it in the Beta....I will max out in a day easy.....
