The game is amazing, one of the most fluid fighting games I've seen. Anyone who likes Naruto or fighting games, I'd recommend buying this. Now give me a bleach or one piece fighting game please.

I would much rather have a Bleach or One Piece game! I stopped following Naruto quite some while ago but One Piece has to be the best shonen manga/anime i have ever read/watched!!

I totally agree with that. Then again, all these anime seem bad since I just got done watching Grave of The Fireflies and Spirited Away yesterday.

@TraceurRyuk Prepping for LBP2 That's like saying movies like Animal House or Blues Brothers are bad because they're not like citizen kane. Shonen series are about ridiculous powers and lasting ten years.

@Cat Herder Oh jesus, there's no edit button and I just said like 3 times in one paragraph.
I would enjoy a Bleach game that looks similar to this, I haven't found the time to absorb Naruto's 300+ episodes.

I know, I know. I'm exaggerating. Still though, for me, those anime are just way too drawn out. The only one's I've ever really watched all the way though was Dragonball/Z and Yu Yu Hakusho. Most really aren't my cup of tea. 50 episodes is the max I'll go. But yeah, it's good for it's audience, I understand that.

@Cat Herder - Yeah, Bleach games on PSP are great (Heat the Soul Series) but I would much prefer if they made it like Ultimate Storm 2, 3D-ish.

Recommendation though: PLEASE watch One Piece, I know it's a little overwhelming but you wouldn't be sorry if you ever do watch it.

Well, if you like non-stop action manga you would prefer Naruto. If you read shonen manga for the amazing story you would prefer One Piece. For Bleach, I don't know it's too much DBZ'ed, even RAVE is better IMO.

The main thing that I typically enjoy with Naruto is the whole "oh you thought I was doing this, but it was actually so I could do that" countered by "I knew you were doing that so I made it seem like i didn't know all so I could do this" fight tactics. It's like Death Note for dude bros.

And that is particularly why I don't like Bleach, since it seems like people only win by raw power alone. Some of One Piece feels that way (only 100 eps in), but it has manliness to make up for it.

I personally love the naruto anime and games, but I have to agree a new one piece game would be awesome. There were a couple on gamecube but I haven't noticed any new ones in a while, a next gen ps3 and/or 360 one would be amazing! Naruto is great and all but people need to try out new anime fighting games once in a while...

YES! One piece is by far THEE BEST anime ever created. I'll agree the first couple episodes are slow and watching the dub makes the anime look horrible but once people give one piece a chance, they'll get hooked. One piece is brilliant, funny, interesting, and very epic.

thanks john, i dont know why I got downvoted once again today...

I said SHONEN manga/anime, I know theres better anime when it comes to animation and even story, but I think anyone who actually sees One Piece will love it. Starts off slow (but not bad) and once they get to the grand line it just picks up and becomes better and better. I didnt think it could get any better than the CP9, but Oda proved me wrong.

I also think the heat the soul games are great and would love to have one the ps3 :]

Tried watching One piece and tried reading the manga, while the story may be good or even great not sure, the art style is something i can't get into and drives me bonkers. although i would be all for a One piece game to give it a try

If the art style of One Piece drives you crazy, give either series of Akagi or Kaiji a try (Akagi would be my preference, for sheer badassness alone).

If you can survive that you will be able to handle any art style thrown at you.

I know a lot of people disagree with me, but I actually I do prefer the Budokai Tenkaichi/Raging Blast style of fighting, it's more open, not just Street Fighter with a Dragon Ball sticker on it.

Raging Blast 2 looks like they're picking up their game, but when compared to the polish of these Naruto games, even the ones on PS2, it doesn't compare, sadly.

Eh, I know a lot of people who don't like the Ultimate Ninja games because of their simple controls, but honestly, in a fighting game (or any game, for that matter), I'd rather be able to quickly learn how to do everything, and spend my time working on a strategy. I think gaming should be more about style, timing, and skill rather than memorization and grinding (lookin' at you, WoW).

I can also understand the 3 1/2 rating. I suppose you have to be a Naruto nerd to really enjoy this game.

Hey, I liked the combat in the Ubisoft games...

Now, the graphics... They certainly could've learned a thing or two from Cycberconnect. I don't know if mouths move in this game, or if they move like hungry robot mouths, but they can't be as disillusioning as the dialog bits in Ubisoft's Naruto entries.

i feel the same way. just because it a anime that your not into you got make the game seem like it crap. most rpg or action adventure game got their own form of "gibberish"(final fantasy). Ultimate storm may not be a amazing fighting/action adventure game but it one of the best anime games this gen.

I dunno, seemed like a pretty fair review to me. Well possibly the star rating should have been a four (pick it up if you like this sort of thing) if I was one of those sorts of people, but the content of the review seemed more than even handed.

If the non-fighting sections weren't crap (which face it, they always have been, even back in Narutimate Hero days on the ps2) it'd probably have read a lot better

The game LOOKS great but there really needs to be some more depth in the hand to hand mechanics. Even a punch and a kick button would be nice instead of "attack"

@C1

Not enough of the characters in the series even use kicking attacks, some of them don't have 'feet' like in the case of the Sasori.

I can see where you're coming from, but you'd need to find characters that actually use their feet in combat outside upwards of four characters with only a few moves.

I've already put in 50 hours and gotten platinum. I truly enjoyed this game, though I am admittedly a Naruto fan. I am surprised the review came out this late. I wasn't expecting it to come out at all...

The fighting system is fun, but Naruto fans will get the most out of the game for sure.

I pretty much agree with the whole review. Only wished it had an arcade mode. Also wanted to mention after you beat the game your left with only multiplayer and my biggest complaint is people using top tier characters and think there good. Yeah I'm talking to you Naruto and Deidera users. CC2 Please fix ASAP. btw has there been any news if there might be any additional dlc characters? me wants.

Anyways, having no score is better than either.

Most people just look at the combo list and say its simple, yet people don't realize this fighting game is all about timing. But one thing i keep noticing is that after each game since UN3, the customization gets lower and lower. Now you can't do ANYTHING in storm 2, only naruto and sasuke can change specials and NOBODY can change ninjutsus. Its really lame but my guess is its either cause they added online, used money to put it on the 360 too, or both.

@SnipeySnake I agree...to me it's much like smash in that smash technically has a jump button, a melee button, a special button, and a block button. This game has a melee button, a jump button, a throw shruiken button, a guard button, and a special button. Granted there are less specials and stuff, but compared to other "real" fighers like tekken, SF, King of Fighers, Soul Caliber, or whatever other game with real combos, this game's fighting is all about timing, especially the substitution skill.

There are definitely overpowered characters though...to me it has been the characters with the huge grab radius that comes out fast.
