CTA Digital continues its domination of all PlayStation Move accessories with the release of the PlayStation Move Racing Wheel with stand. As you can see above, the wheel comes with a slot across the center to store a Move wand, thus making you feel as if you're using a plastic wheel rather than one, you know, made out of air.
We kid, actually -- the grip can instead hold a DualShock 3 (with SIXAXIS!) controller, so if you want to use it for tilt steering rather than motion control, you can do that as well. The wheel also detaches from the stand if you'd rather just hold it by itself. And we don't know how cheap it is yet, since there's no MSRP listed. For more information (and a chuckle at the expense of some poor commercial actors -- "COOLER!"), head after the break for a promotional video.

@NoirR I work for a company that markets the Move, and our literature states that GT5 will use it.... so there is that I guess. However, I am not sure who would use and input like that on such a precision based racing game.

Wait, I'm confused.
The Move wand doesn't really lend itself well to horizontal play like the Wiimote, so how would it work out for driving, especially if you're trying to hold onto the gas? Wouldn't the bulbous nature of the move make it impractical to use it like a wiimote? And wouldn't the wheel get in the way of hitting the gas and brake on the shoulder buttons for a DS3/Sixaxis?

Does anyone know what the best racing wheel will be for GT5 when it comes out?

@Puertoricarious I don't know about best but I love my Logitech Driving Force GT5 wheel on GT5:Prologue. The force feedback is outstanding and mildly realistic, although you'll need a VERY sturdy surface to clamp this thing down to. I originally had it on a TV tray and I can't count the number of times I've lifted the entire thing up in the air or tipped it over while trying to make a bunch of hard turns in a row.
Of course, I've never used any of the other wheels so my opinion means little, but I really enjoy this wheel. My only complaint is the lack of a clutch pedal.

That would be the Logitech G27, then the Logitech G25, and then the Logitech Driving Force GT.

See? These guys at least know that many people have coffee tables so they design their product with that in mind.

So it's a Wii Wheel, but much more awkward to hold and conventionally use. Much like the horizontal Move controls it's based on.

honestly, I love my PS3, but have been concerned about the viability of the platform. It faces stiff competition. The PS2 had plenty of stuff I didn't personally like, but it kept the ecosystem much more profitable.
If there's a ton of cheap accessories and wii type games (lame games like Mario Kart and New Mario being the best of a terrible lineup) that's fine with me.
MS has emulated much of the PS business model from the past 15 years, and now Sony is emulating much of the Nintendo one. That's good business.

Errr, What about force feedback? I mean, steering wheels have done this for... well... a damn long time.
Also, why is it so damn small, I could palm the thing, let alone try and keep my hands at 10 and 2!

what I don't get is that the glowing ball gets partially hidden by the peripheral.
