@Xpike Goodluck paying for that deal for the rest of your PSN life since you lose all those things the instant you cancel Plus.

@PN04 How long does it take you to play games? I think PSN+ is looking to be a good deal if you like trying out a bunch of new different games especially a bunch of the minis which are good time wasters for a week.

@EyeZer0 Anything free is a good deal. Almost anything.

So now I can finally find out how good this game is and see if I should start following the company more.

Hopefully, yes, I have been getting fed up of loads of people just saying "PS+ is shit" without giving any reasoning behind it at all. You get LOADS of free stuff, early access to demos, betas, free dynamic themes and more. I personally think its a bloody good deal!

@Danjcb The problem is you don't actually get anything for free. It all becomes disabled after you stop renewing the account. Ultimately you may end up paying upwards of 80% or more of the retail price of those "free" things, and ultimately have nothing to show for it in a year or two.

It's more like an extended demo or play pass, similar to what Gametap or OnLive are doing, except they have dozens of hundreds of games available, while Playstation Plus at any given moment... not so much.

I think the only thing Plus is actually great for are all these free games. Having a regular PSN membership but having Xbox LIVE, the actual features that are in PSN that affect gaming experiences is not so great. This is in regards to fluidity of social interaction.
I'll stop my rant here

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

I paid full price for the Sam and Max season, but i dont regret it a bit.

Eps 1-3 and 5 are SUPERB, the rest (2 and 4) are just excellent.

@UnnXandros Odd, I'd say that Episode 2 was my favorite one of the bunch. The time-traveling mechanic really added a lot to the puzzle structure.

Well, yes, the time travelling mechanich is fun and actually, the whole episode is pretty challenging, but i had the most fun on the 1st episode. Plus, there's an extra toy once u finish the game.

I think that Season 3 is the best so far, and i'm really looking forward to the Back to the Future games.

It's also been free for PS+ members in Europe in November... or was it October?

@Dark Archon PSN Archonik XBL Dar

It was October, November was Critter Crunch. Downloaded all the PS+ Sam and Max eps while it was free but haven't got around to playing them.

Still think Fallout expansions has been the best deal so far for PS+. Don't know if the US got it or not.

Huh...I got PS+ for Wipeout and I've enjoyed some of the other stuff, but there hasn't been much else that has wow'ed me. I already owned Critter Crunch and Shatter, so I didn't get much benefit from those. Considering that I am a huge S&M fan (and I like the cartoon dog and rabbit, too!) from the original games and comic, yet I haven't picked up the new stuff, I'm pretty damn happy with PS+ right now...

The thing that bothers me most is how they're already re-releasing games for free. Fieldrunners was free a little while ago, I assumed they would make more minis free before going back to ones that were already free.

Yeah I agree. I hope it was just a mistake and they fix it. A lot of people are complaining about it over on the PS Blog.

Thats kind of like saying 'since I bought a year of Xbox Live, I should still be able to play online for free after it expires'

If I hadn't bought the season when it was discounted a while ago, this would have definitely made me sign up for PS+. Unfortunately now, in the aftermath of last week's sales, I have 32 cents left in my wallet.

What? That's not even close to the main argument. On LIVE you keep the game-- forever. Whether you say online or not, the rights to playing the game is yours at any given time on your console. Online is a paid subscription fee on XBL, sure, but as the guy said above; you are BORROWING the game for as long as you pay Playstation.

This game is Awesome with a capital 'Z' I got it a few months back on NZ's PSN+ finished it & loved the whole game, good humour, bit of thinking puzzles (always good) not just moving a block, good scripting/acting and all round a fun experience.

@GamingColt On PSN you keep games forever too. On XBL Free, you keep games forever. Plus is obviously a very different service from Live or the rest of the PSN, and therefore can't be compared.

Obviously, it is annoying to lose access to any content you've downloaded once your subscription ends. But, presumably if you are happy with the service, you will continue subscribing and continue using the service. For games like Sam & Max, which offer no multiplayer and no replayability, I think losing access with a lapsed subscription doesn't sound so bad.

I sure wish they'd give free games when they come out, instead of months after I've already bought and played through them. I guess that would hurt actual sales of the game, but it would make getting Plus worthwhile for me.

If you haven't played Sam and Max this is a good deal, though, it's a great series.

@Gaming Colt

Anything you pay for on the PSN you keep forever. The games that are given away to PS+ subscribers for free expire once you are no longer PS+ but that makes perfect sense. I rarely ever play a PSN game that is more than a few months old and if there is a game that I find myself playing after a year that I got as a freebie from PS+, I will gladly pay for it.

btw, you got pwnd by Andrew Yoon.

PS+ has put me back into the black!

Is this one of those stupid situations where Sony can take these free episodes of Sam & Max once our Plus subscription runs out, or can we KEEP these?
