I kind hope gameloft gets sued heavily by somebody, I feel its really uncool to get rich ripping off other peoples games

You realize the chain of events that will cause right? Unreal will sue Naughty Dog for copying their grenade arc thing. Mikami will sue Unreal, WinBack will sue Mikami. Disney will sue Uncharted for copying Indiana Jones overall theme.

Etc, etc.

@Cleric

The difference being that Uncharted only took certain elements from other games/movies and created its own experience with them, whereas Gameloft blatantly ripped off an entire game.

The being said, I don't think of Gameloft as badly as I do Zynga/Adolf Hitler. They are "porting" the console games to a market where the original developers are not, and the companies they are ripping off are still managing to survive. So while they're not a super-ethical company, I don't find them too bad. The only problem is that their games are never nearly as good as the original, with the exception of their Castlevania ripoff.

No there is no difference, you are trying to see something that isn't there. Chill out, just video games man. I'm pretty sure Naughty Dog has enough money to stay open.

I wish Uncharted had more skill based platforming than the current system of almost impossible to fail platforming. It should be more Prince of Persia Sands of Time. In Prince of Persia I usually hate the combat and want to get to the platforming. In Uncharted I find the platforming so boring I want to get to the shooting. I guess Uncharted 2 is an improvement over the original Uncharted which was a shooting fest. I guess most gamers get frustrated by even moderately difficult platforming. Seems like games are going to more "shoot things in the head" than puzzle solving and exploring.

Last time I checked Prince of Persia platforming was way easier than Uncharted's but I get your point...

Honestly, I don't think it looks that good.

It's letting the iPhone's controls be a burden rather than a blessing (which always saps a lot of the fun out of it), and it doesn't look nearly up to the standard of Uncharted.

I genuinely believe something like Angry Birds or Peggle is a better game that this, on the iPhone anyway.

When it's $1-$6 I don't mind the lack of disc. It's less than I'd pay for a used console game, and it's always with me on the device in my pocket.

The price and portability make it a non issue... the crazy PSP download pricing makes that just foolish when you can get a disc for the same or less... DL only distribution needs to be cost effective in addition to convenient, one or the other doesn't cut it.

What are you all worried about? Naughty Dog are an elite group of genius'. Look at the strong reputation that Uncharted has. Its so big, that Epic no doubt fears Uncharted 3 making an appearance at the VGAs. Uncharted is a much bigger franchise than Gears of War and is far more anticipated. See, Xbox 360 gamers as a whole have no appreciation for Gears of War, they're all still stuck on Halo. Yet, Uncharted has many of Xbox 360 gamers eyes open.

This is in no way going to affect Naughty Dog. In fact, Evan Wells will tell you, I'm sure: "We're actually flattered that developers look up to us as they do, and see the value in the games we have enough to use what we've got." Look at the rip-off of God of War on the iPod touch. Did it ever effect God of War? No WAY!

More games have been ripped off of Sony because Sony knows how to pick them. Microsoft has nothing. The only gamers that really get into those types of games, are Xbox gamers that can't have the PlayStation experience, and fanboys that think they're stealing something from Sony to boost their ego and make them feel better. All this game is, is a cheap rip off that will feel fun for a while, and then get old, and soon be forgotten.

It's physically impossible for Naughty Dog to produce enough Uncharted gameplay for me, so if their uglier, generic, unethical cousin wants my attention now and then, by God, I'll count myself lucky.

WOW! A device from 2010 sometimes has on-par/slightly better graphics than the PSP from 2004, and a wealth of unoriginal/shallow games to boot!

THIS MUST BE THE FUTURE OF HANDHELD GAMING!!!

@Naru now in 3D graphics capabilities easily surpass the PSP however the problem is developing a game that is not too big, but not too small. They are restricted by development costs and how much the audience is willing to pay for the game. It's well known that devs cannot sell games for regular prices like you would see on hardcore gaming consoles and portables such as the PSP. The uneasy truth, is that business gets in the way of development and true advances.

Maybe someone has mentioned this already, but...

It's seems pretty obvious to me that what Gameloft does is develop a game (like this one), then approach a company and say, "Do you want to license this and stick the 'Uncharted' name on it? We'll cut you a deal and we'll all make mad bucks!!1!"

If the company says "Yes", then we get Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles, Prince of Persia, Driver or Splinter Cell.

If the company says "No", then we get Shadow Guardian, Hero of Sparta, NOVA, Dungeon Hunter or Gangstar.

Seems like a great business model to me. If we waited for Blizzard to create a Diablo for the iPhone (or, heaven forbid, MS to produce Halo on the iPhone!), we'd never have it. I'd rather have a very well-done knock off than no game at all.

Im sorry, i don't usually comment on here , but what some of you fans boy are saying is complete BS..first of all Uncharted COMPLETELY ripped off everything from the concept of seaching for artifacts to gameplay mechanics from Tomb Raider....remember Laura Croft? second, speaking as an honest gamer, the story to Uncharted was awesome but the game got very repetitive..i thought the gun battles got boring after a while and the climbing was no challenge like it was in Tomb Raider. Over all great game but not even the ripped off muitiplayer mechanics that they got from Gears of War can make it a threat to epic. We're talking about a fan base difference of like 10 million people..uncharted didn't even come close to Gears of war sales. just keeping it real, something very few of you do.
