So, if this starts after the beginning cutscene, how does it deal with the Ashley/Kaiden choice? They show up in the first cutscene running to Shepard as the Collectors attack. Seems like a weird place to put it.

@Nier

I suppose it fits in with the recall Q&A in the shuttle, but it in no way makes up for that fact that if you played the first game the impact of the opening scenes is extremely potent.

Without the first game experience the intro is just a cool sequence with no emotion.

I dont get why bother with all these "desicions" crap. I mean, at the very end, there's only ONE canon and that can be found here:

http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Storyline

Sure, is nice to make those decisions to being able to do many endings or something similar, but at the end, there's only one canon, so why bother.

Read the info in that link and you will be up to date with the story, so when you get ME2, you will know what is the real story, and everyhing else you do, isnt canon.

Is like in KOTOR, you can have many endings, but you dont have a previous save file from KOTOR 0.5 to star with.

@ObiAlKenobi

Well you're wrong aren't you.

There are four endings to ME1 and the decisions you make affect the locations you visit in ME2. Who is charge, who runs the citadel, who leads the Krogan etc. all affect the gameplay on those worlds.

The ME Canon is that which you make.

If you bothered to read that "canon" you might notice that several areas are left intentionally vague because the choice you make in the game determines how it plays out.

For example, in that link it doesn't say if Shepard exterminate the Rachni species or not. Why? Because that choice is up to you and the outcome affects ME2.

@ObiAlKenobi Okay first off, no wiki site is the "Canon". second off, did you even read that article? It lists all four endings based on play decisions. And when it gets to the point that Wrex can die, it just list the three possibilities and doesn't say what happens. So what the hell are you even talking about? A canon doesn't allow for multiples.

And if there's not point to having the decisions, why would they be included. You can't use KOTOR as a example since II doesn't use the same character and that example doesn't even make sense. ME doesn't have a .5. Oh wait, it kinda does since you can pick Shepards backstory! Hell, you can change his backstory in 2 if that's where you start. And having a "Canon" matters for KOTOR because it's one entry in the Star Wars Universe of hundreds of entrys so it needs to have a canon to it to fit with everything else. And something new is only considered noncanon if its fan-made or doesn't really fit. ME doesn't have that, the point is to let the player have the story unfold their way.

Also, as to why does it matter? Well maybe because people want to experience all the different storylines that was in the 360 version, you think about that?

They put the comic after the intro so the Sheppard depicted in the comic is the same as in the intro Movie... DUH.

3ghz Pentium D
1GB ram
Geforce 8600GT

Just thought i'd share that incase anyone thought you would need a newish pc to play it

I'm glad for this, because even if it isn't covering every decision in ME1, it'll still be a nice way to make another character without having to play all the way through Mass Effect 1 first.

This, plus the new Mass Effect 3 engine on display makes this a day one buy for me. The only problem will then be deciding which system I get Mass Effect 3 for!!

Oh who am I kidding, it'll probably be both.

After you're description Andrew I actually kinda want to get my hands on this and run through it myself.

I'm sure it'll probably be a little bit anti-climactic having played 1 already but whatever... I'm just excited I get to enjoy the game again on a different platform this time:)

I think I just might be stupid enough to buy ME3 on all 3 platforms at launch :p

" This interactive comic's initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners who would be otherwise unable to realize the full effect of choice in the Mass Effect universe and will be included on the Cerberus Network."

Keywords: initial release

This will definitely be released to 360/PC as well.
