Left 4 Dead 2's latest mutation has a Special Delivery for the survivors

These guys just can't catch a break, can they? As if the zombie apocalypse wasn't enough for the survivors to deal with, Left 4 Dead 2's latest mutation, Special Delivery, removes spawn timers for special infected and raises their in-game cap to 10.
Can you imagine it? The safe house is in sight; you're almost there and the effects of those hastily-consumed pain pills are quickly fading. Then you see them: two boomers, two jockeys, a spitter, a smoker and four tanks. Okay, maybe our version of the mutation sounds a bit extreme, but you get the idea.

i love L4D2, and this mutation is the bomb, but we really should of had like 10 new maps by this point. 1 or 2 in the span of a year is ridiculous. It's not like they are hard to make - the PC community barfs maps out daily. Show some updated love for 360 players please.

It's funny because he acts like the ones the PC players make are as good as the official ones. Valve can't afford to spend all their time making new maps for a game that came out last year when they have Portal 2 to work on and Half-Life 3 to announce.

I got no problem complaining. I want my goddamn Versus Co-Op I was promised which is the gamemode I've been waiting for since L4D1.

Yeah, if that's what you mean, it's pretty ridiculous that they don't have that yet. They don't even have to do anything to make it happen, just remove the freaking conditional statement that prevents games from being started when one team doesn't have any human players.

The L4D series is one of my first Valve franchises, and I've got to say I'm really not as impressed with everyone's claim that they're a "community developer" as I thought I'd be. The mutations are nice, but they're severely lacking in some really fundamental stuff.
- Team Realism Versus (the 4-player matchmaking) hasn't worked since about a week after release. It's been what, 4-5 months since it broke and they haven't even made a COMMENT about it, much less fixed it? Try and enter the team realism versus mode with a team of 4 and have it find you a team to play against. It won't work. Ever.
- Probably 30-40% of the games started fail to start with all players getting a "Lost connection to server" error. Again, not comment or fix or anything in months.
- Why can we not play a versus game against a team of bots? They (finally, after what, 2 years) added special infected bots to versus mode, and they already have survivor bots, so why can't I just go into a game of versus by myself, or with a friend, and play against all bots as survivors and infected? I can understand if they don't want us using their servers for this, but they give us the option to host our own game, so if we're hosting ourselves, why would they care? Adding this would literally take all of 5 minutes.
There are countless other little things that add up as well. Like when they had the versus survivor mode they didn't have a timer for the survivors to leave the safe area. In scavenge and versus, if you don't leave in 45 seconds it will let the infected start spawning, but not in versus survivor. Which, of course with the awesome gaming community, meant that every game you joined just had the survivors hanging out there for 15 minutes waiting for you to just quit. I could understand if they just overlooked it, but then the mutation came back like a month later and it was still the same way. Wtf.

And I think you're absolutely right- such easy fixes, and they would be immensely fun. Versus mode can get a bit stale, so incorporating these mutations in versus and not only select ones would make it so just by selecting different conditions versus is a lot more fun again.
I'm with you though, L4D 2 is still awesome, but just a small wish.

You do know there was a special mutation called Bleed Out Versus right? It's a Versus variant on Bleed Out. I don't play many mutations, but I played that. Surprisingly easy since you bleed out so slowly. I actually made better progress on No Mercy in Bleed Out Versus than I ever did in regular Versus.

I wish that Valve would do something about Half life already. I'm tired of hearing about Left 4 Dead. It was fun at first but I feel that Half life episode 3 is long over due.
