I wonder if it was a price break or just good advertising. I know in the states it was easy to find for $20 off MSP. It's second week of release.

Well deserved. People can rag on Activision all they like but Black Ops is a great game. I hate Activison as much as the next nerd, but you shouldnt blame Trayarch. They created a really great game here.

@Billlop Agreed. I've enjoyed Black Ops even more than MW2. Treyarch really upped their "game" for BO. I'd say they are up to IW standards now (the old IW).

I kind of disagree. Sure, Black Ops was a solid experience, but the return of enemy respawn closets was fairly annoying, the multiplayer is essentially the same with a few new maps and different killstreaks, and the story was way too predictable, especially the parts where Tyler Durden shows up. Is the explosive crossbow amazing? Yes. But Treyarch needs some guys who know how to write a convincing story and decent dialogue. Sorry, I think the f-word is cool, too, but you just can't use it as much as they do without sounding silly.

Example of dialogue in Black Ops:

INTERROGATOR: Goddamn it, tell us what you f*cking know, Mason!
MASON: *screams* I don't f*cking know what the f*ck you want, you motherf*ckers! I can't f*cking think with all these f*cking numbers going through my shit ass head!!!!!

Also, Mason talks tough, but he gives it up way too easy.

MASON: I'll never tell you c**ksuckers anything. Do your worst, a**holes!
INTERROGATOR: Tell us about Vietnam!
MASON: Vietnam? Yeah, okay.

I'm surprised at the number of people who consider Black Ops to be better than the MW games.

Personally I find Black Ops to be an inferior rehash of what COD4 and MW2 did much better. Black Ops definitely has inferior netcode, and the gun balance is absolutely pathetic. The AK-74U, Stoner63, Commando, AK-47 and AUG are basically the only weapons worth using, as they're superior in all respects to other weapons of their class. Oh, and sniper rifles are useless now.

Treyarch demonstrates their completely lack of creativity with pathetic killstreaks like attack dogs and radio control cars. Because as we all know, air support wasn't NEARLY as effective as radio control cars and dogs in the Cold War.

Not buying a Treyarch game again, that's for sure. Infinity Ward established the world-beating engine with high framerates, good netcode and super low controller latency, and Treyarch has only made it worse with time.

I wonder how much longer the CoD series can pull those kind of sales numbers in? I'm going to predict that next year is the year the series begins its descent into Tony Hawk territory. Not saying it will be Tony Hawk Shred, but sales numbers between release and the end of Dec will be significantly less than previous years. As for NFS:HP good for it. I enjoyed the demo but won't pick this up until it's priced lower. Not that it isn't worth full price, but I've got too many other games to tackle right now and can wait for a lull in the action.

@Milf Biggenson I think it will be a while unless a run n gun, noob friendly shooter with great graphics is released that takes the crown.

I just hope DICE never compromises their game to attempt to woo the COD crowd. Activision can keep them.

Tony Hawk and the music games were fads to begin with. They would only last as long as the kids thought they were cool.

The Call of Duty series on the other hand is built on solid fundamentals: high framerate, good netcode, super low controller latency, and the best console FPS controls out there.

Of course, Treyarch has already managed to squander the netcode advantage, but as long as they keep rehashing what IW started with COD4, they should be fine.

Oh, as for DICE, they have already tried to rip off COD4. Bad Company 2 was a COD rip off, with tiny maps by battlefield standards and useless vehicles.

I feel so sorry for all the people who only played Bad Company on consoles and never enjoyed the true Battlefield games on PCs, back when vehicles and teamwork actually mattered, not just COD run and gun style around tiny maps.

@Billlop Maybe, but I was referring to it being an older game in a tight release schedule. This is a sales chart not a decent games ranking chart.

Medal of Honor is a pathetic, sub-par rip off of Call of Duty. It doesn't deserve to be on any sales charts.

EA has a deal on right now for NFS:HP . It's 35% off until 5pm PST today. The redeem code is "giftofspeed" . I tried including the link on here, but I guess Joystiq doesn't allow that. Go to the EA Facebook page and check out their photos and you'll see it there with a link.
