Following Cole's revelation at the end of the first game, the comic will explore his move from "Empire City" (a.k.a. NYC) to "New Marais" (you know: New Orleans) to battle creepy, mutant things and prepare for ... well, you should go ahead and finish the first game before reading the comics. It's really good, we promise.
inFamous comic series to bridge gap between games

Developer Sucker Punch and DC Comics are teaming up for an inFamous comic book that will bridge protagonist Cole McGrath's story from the first game to the sequel. The book will be written by William Harms, illustrated by Eric Nguyen, and will span six issues.
I am actually really looking forward to these comics...but the thing I am most looking forward to is a solid release date. Does April seem to be too soon to be true?

Games getting animes usually result in summaries of the plotline of the game...if we're lucky. There are times when a comic might briefly go through a game's story moments. (tales of symphonia and legend of zelda manga) Whether manga or anime, though sometimes additional media might just be random silliness involving characters. Screw the storyline. They've got money. (i'm looking at you persona 3 and devil may cry anime)

Extremely good point.
Games are a medium for telling stories. If the story is good... use the medium. Make the money.
These days, a lot of people have alternative game players, like phones or very weak laptops/netbooks. I'd rather see some game for those platforms to bridge the gap between AAA level titles.
I don't mind an occasional comic, though. Mass Effect's effort shows that can really help sometimes.
Or the way Metal Gear Solid used something alike comics for explaining a lot of of game's lore... that's great content.
Hopefully they make a game out of the comic.

I wonder if it will explain his changing voice... perhaps he finally got rid of that cough that had been plaguing him for months...

Hope this is as good as Assassin's Creed: The Fall, though it seems like most stories that try to "bridge the gap" between games tend to fall flat.

I think the six issues will involve Cole getting plastic surgery but then nobody likes his new look, so he gets more plastic surgery to return to his original state. The entire experience pisses him off to no end and he seeks Nathan Drake to kick his ass for getting a decent makeover and not having to deal with all the crap Cole himself went through. And Cole gets some ice powers from Sub-Zero or something.

Oh my god, Cole looks like he just stepped out of Fist of the North Star in that picture.

Why must Sucker Punch continue to alter the protagonist's appearance? Why not just make Sly Cooper into a red fox while we're at it?

I'm sick of that hand pose. It's not badass or cool to grab invisible objects in midair.
