We've always known that the fan base for The Behemoth's colorful beat-em-up Castle Crashers would continue to grow throughout the fullness of time -- there's something just so universal about beating the tar out of dudes in exchange for food and coins, you know? Recently, that fan base passed a major milestone across all the game's platforms: According to the leaderboards, over two million players have taken up arms in the name of princess rescuing.
Will this impressive number carry over some steam to The Behemoth's next project, Battleblock Theater? It's hard to be sure -- both seem to have the same level of polish and oddball humor, though the studio's upcoming project doesn't appear to have quite as much diarrhea-stricken forest wildlife, so it's really anyone's guess.

Eh it depends. I got it for $10 through Amazon's PSN store and even then I felt about 6-8 should be this game's price.

@Riley Freeman It is worth the regular price (as are quite a few games). But getting it at 50% off all week on XBLA as part of their 11-day Countdown to 2011 promo, is what finally pushed me over the edge to make a purchase . . . along with several other downloadable games I have been meaning to buy for a while like Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, and a bunch of DLC from Red Dead Redemption, and Alan Wake that I have been salivating over for months.
My point is, in these economic troubling times, there is nothing quite like a really good sale to move software. Even for games that are already really popular and easily worth more. A lot of people balk at the $15 price tag, but with the economy the way it is, can you seriously blame them?

Yes x2,000.
I wish this game had dlc, because I would buy it just to support the big B.

I do NOT plan to buy any of their future games based on the fact that MP was completely broken for MONTHS after the XBLA release. It was extremely frustrating.

I just picked this up over the weekend. My sister talked me into getting it to play with her. Best 600 ms points spent for an arcade game. It is so much fun. I can't believe I didn't play this game sooner.

Just because 2 million have played or downloaded a program doesn't mean it has a 2 million large fan, or even active user, base. Infact I bought Castle Crashers to see what it was like. Not a big fan. Same with most of my friends. We have it, we just aren't fans of the game. As the person above me said that hardly anyone's online with this game.

I heard nothing but good things about the game and I'd just won a $10 amazon gift card, so I figured why not. Some friends saw I had it so they got it.

You can blame the 256 hack for that one. Playing online is a risk because you can end up bumping into one of them, and they're contagious.

I had a lot of fun with this game. It totally reminded me of playing TMNT or XMen with my brothers on the genesis.
I totally got stuck on the volcano level boss though. SO FRUSTRATING!

This game is great and worth the full price imo. The one thing that was a huge disappointment was not being able to play co-op online for months and months. By the time they got that fixed up no one was playing it anymore. That was one of the big reason's I picked it up.
Any of their future games Im interested in purchasing I will hold off on till im sure that any kind of online co-op/vs. mode works properly.

Did they ever fix the connection issue with friends that this game was having? I got it when it first came out and I can't play with some of my friends on it.

too bad the hit boxes don't match the character shapes at all. to me, fatal flaw.
i may be alone, and i really wanted to like this game, but with broken hit detection, it's the worst game i own.
