I really am a big fan of what the guys at Penny Arcade are doing. This is a very well run system, and appears to be really bringing home to bacon.

I like to look at it as major spit in the face to politicians and bigots who look down on the game community as a whole.

If only they could work PSN, X-Box Marketplace, and WiiWare into this, the numbers could reach even greater heights!

@TheRepublic

I meant for game bundles, like the Humble Indie Bundle. Which I am loving by the way ($15)!

It would probably work if some generous dev. would develop a whole game for the charity.

@Evil Pikachu.

Wasn't Chime on the Xbox360 a game that gave all its money to charity, at least for a little while?

It gives criminals a legal alternative while putting the rest in the same boat of opportunity. People can get the games for free if they want, so why not let them toss in a penny instead.

Thanks in part to Joystiq's coverage it picked up enough steam to throw $30k in the pot. Thanks Joystiq!

I'll never look at the foundation's name and not think of murderous kids dolls.

Great job Child's Play!

Sadly I didn't catch them at PAX in September so I didn't get to donate :(
(Last year I bought a bag of 5 or so cookies for $10, lol)

But I'm heading to PAX East in March so hopefully I'll see them then.

I participated through purchase, and I think this charity is cool. But everytime I seethe term "give back" it urks me. I have never been given anything from charity so when I give, it is a donation, not giving back.
