This game is far better then most arcade games you'll spend 800 points on. You are a imbecile if you do not purchase this title. Hell, I hate turn-based RPG's and I still loved it.

@ThatPete a lot of Indie games are. if people werent so shallow about achievement points Indie games would be getting a lot more attention. and money.

Its aa catch 22 though if they allowed cheeves you would get countless - PRESS START FOR 50 CHEEVES games for us whores out there.

better like it is. I feel a sense of purity when I buy an indie game. about once a week these days.

Agreed. I could care less about achievements. I think I own 18 indie games.
Remember that kids, achievements do not mean you are good at games.

@ThatPete I completely agree, but I think it would be cool if XBL Indie games could give out even just 10 gamerscore, I think it'd be pretty funny to get 1g for beating a boss, or 2g for completing the whole game. That'd be a nice little incentive, but still not enough to make it worth buying spam achievement games.

@ThatPete

Achievements are pointless and are one of the reasons transferring save games and XBLA titles is so needlessly difficult/impossible at times.

@zerokku

so this looks VERY FF2 like. (SNES) which is one of my all time Fav's. are you familiar with FF2 and is it similar?

@FNG this game, and his earlier game "Breath of Death VII" are both spoofs on early Final Fantasy and old school jrpgs in general. Both are completely awesome. The first game is a flippin' dollar and you play as a skeleton instead of some stupid dumb red mage.

@FNG

Id say they play far closer to dragon quest, albeit much much faster. In terms of looks and aesthetic though It is definitely inspired by early FF games like IV.

In terms of story, its a parody of the genre (and itself). For example theres an enemy named beltman, whos made entirely of belts (Making fun of nomura's designs)

@koehler83 That's what I was thinking, especially the battle screen. I wonder how I'd get my University of Michigan themed RPG on the indie game scene... =).

Who wouldn't want to prevent Satan from being summoned in the Big House by Michigan State students or unleashing genetically altered monsters across Michigan's campus? (except of course Michigan State fans...okay and probably 99% of the US, but still...)

@koehler83 Down-voting me really accomplishes nothing people. I'm not stating an opinion about the game. I'm merely stating that it looks like it was made in RPGMaker. Does that somehow make it bad?

Looks great. Now all MS has to do is allow me to play indie games without having to be online. Then I will buy this. Not before.

@c0bra95 Impossible. You see, that's their way of circumventing the need for these games to get ESRB ratings. (Remember the "Online interactions not rated by the ESRB" you see before a lot of games? Yeah... that.)

But here's a tip: You CAN disconnect your internet cord AFTER you boot up an indie game. So you don't have to STAY on... just be on long enough for the game to verify it wasn an "online interaction".

@SABCA i never thought if that. Having Indie games rated by the ESRB would be a real downer. Ive read of some AO type games being banned by MS its a shame imo. Indie games, for better or worse, seems to be the console version of a semi free, lets make a profit and get noticed internet.

I played through this over the weekend and had a great time. The writing is great, the throwback graphics are hilarious at times and the game is just fun. Great all around, skip your latte one day and get this instead.

Looks like an RPG Maker game, but, to me that makes it better. I was a pretty big fan of RPG Maker 1 on the PS, and I loved playing RPG Maker games on the PC too. I dig what they're going for here, and will be buying it.:D

After moths of waiting (it was originally scheduled for an August release) I've already finished my first playthough and i can safely say, Cthulhu is everything Breath of Death VII was and more. Astounding work by Robert Boyd! He's King of XBIG hands down (sorry Luke Schneider, you can still be Prince).
