is it safe to say Goldeneye was an international flop?

@Jack Kevorkian

If it's not a port of the 64 version I don't want it.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is I wanted it to do well 1) because of nostolgia and 2) because the Wii need one stinkin' 3rd party hit. Its annoying no one else can make money.

Except Ubisoft. They have it figured out on the console. Kind of...Red Steel 2...

I'm willing to bet this is because Fifa 11 was price slashed last week to half price at all the major retailers :)

Good to see that price sales can affect the charts!

I wonder how long Gran Turismo will stay up there. I imagine it will sell at a steady burn for quite a while, at least through the summer.

@EvoHelix i imagine quite a long time Brits like their racing games. Forza sat on the top 50 for a long time so I imagine this higher profile game will stay on longer.

Can someone answer a FIFA question? Is the button configuration and play calling (are their "plays" in soccer?) complicated like Madden or is it easier to play?

Give the demo a spin, it gives a good taste of the core on-pitch game and its controls. There's no real play calling, everything happens on the fly more or less. Fine tuning your play is getting creative with formations, which isn't terribly complicated - FIFA is very accessible IMO. If you want to ramp it up, managing your clubs is the meat of the game for a lot of hardcore players and there's pretty substantial AI options IIRC.

There's a lot of control settings as well, all customisable, with settings to ease beginners in. Controls are only really complex if you lack a basic understanding of playing football.

@Epoque honestly I thought EA never demoed this game. I'll check that out thanks.

I tried Madden and frankly it has become too complicated for me to try to catch up with people who only play Madden. I decided I'd rather be better at Battlefield.

@Jack Kevorkian

I stopped buying Madden every year and started spending my $60 on FIFA, totally worth it.

I think I have a soft spot for Just Dance 2 :D How it has managed to hang on for oh so long, that game is truly popular.

As for GT5 and Fifa 11, well, considering the two are what make the british british, thier long presence there is only understandable, the only thing replacing Fifa 11 is Fifa 12.

@Spunky Monkey 190906

Just dance 2 only launched recently, the original however stayed up there nearly every week until the sequels launch.

"It would seem Mass Effect 2's various end of year accolades spurred interest in the game again"

That or the fact it was £5
