Already lining up your established video game intellectual property-themed wardrobe for the upcoming festivities at PAX East 2011? You might want to throw a costume based on one of Twisted Pixels' creations into the mix, as the developer announced over Twitter that one lucky 'Splosion Man, The Maw, Comic Jumper or Ms. 'Splosion Man cosplayer who comes to the studio's booth on the show floor will have a character modeled after them appear in an upcoming title of its choosing.
"This will be a 'walk on role' for lack of a better term, as a character somewhere in the game. Background of this character will depend on where we feel they can fit in the story," a Twisted Pixel rep explained to Joystiq in more detail. "The winner will be updated on the status of their character and what game it will be when we get close to announcing the title."
Everyone who stops by the booth in-costume will end up on Twisted Pixel's official website, while three runners-up will get their names in the credits of the unspecified game -- everyone, of course, has a chance to play those unreleased games. The studio also promises a very special prize for folks who show up as the increasingly infamous MaXplosion -- "a kick to the face." We think they were joking, but just to be safe, you'd better not.

Wait... so you dress up like a character from a TP game. If you win, they model a character after you. So they are going to model a character after a costume of their own character? Or after you without the costume?

I would laugh if some random person came dressed like the thing from MaXplosion.
Random Guy: What do you mean I dressed up like a character from a different game isnt this from the same game? What No, Damn you Capcom damn you to hell!

why even bother with PAX east period? the convention was overcrowded last year, the enforcers had terrible communication, overall it was poorly implemented :( I was sad when they shuffled the opening line all the way up to the top level just to be met by a sign "main theatre for keynote is full". I wont bother but hey everyone else, have fun!

They actually moved it to a larger space this year so avoid that problem. This will be my first pax and I have a weekend pass. I'm excited as hell

@Lynkd34d - I can't speak for PAX East because I didn't go but having attended PAX Prime in Seattle for the past four years, I'd recommend giving it another chance, even if not this year.
My experience with the Seattle event is that the Penny Arcade guys really take PAX feedback to heart and if something doesn't work, you can almost guarantee it will be changed the next year.
It was the first year of PAX East last year so I'm sure things will only get better by leaps and bounds after a couple of years. I can assure you that PAX is not something to give up on.

I hope to Odin that the unannounced game is Comic Jumper 2. Definitely one of my favorite Arcade games last year.
