Indie developer Eskil Steenberg's procedural, super-pretty world-building MMO Love has gone through a ton of changes in the past few months -- all of which are highlighted in this press release, which isn't a press release at all, but rather, a Craigslist Missed Connections Listing. How wonderful.
The most significant change? The game's pay-per-play subscription fee has been reduced to €10 (call it: $13.50 and change) for 180 days of playtime. (Previously, €10 got you just 30 days of Love.)
You can check out a video demonstration of some of the game's new features (as well as a basic tutorial led by Eskil himself) after the jump. Just try to stop the video as soon as it's over, because as you might imagine, the YouTube suggestions for a video titled "Love Tutorial" are unspeakably weird.

Gotta say, thats original and maybe even clever which is refreshing these days what with adverts for games that rival summer blockbusters and have about the same depth.

I tried playing this when the open, pay-to-play beta first began, but it was terribly confusing, there was little direction, and I couldn't find other players, let alone begin to work with them. I'd like to give it another shot, because the art style and the idea are pretty fascinating, but I'm not sure that its worth the substantial amount of time that would have to be spent just trying to understand the game's basics and interface (that video didn't really help).

It's a gorgeous game. Those screenshots may as well be works of art. Except I can't see how...any of it is a game.

It looks like an overly complicated version of Minecraft being played on a computer with a failing video card.

Scrolling through the changes list, I quickly saw:
"Players can create acid..."
And I got a whole different image of this game.

180 days is a much better deal. Still...
I hope it's successful and he eventually accomplishes what he wants with it, but reoccurring payments just isn't for me unless some porn comes with it.

Insert obligatory hooker joke here.
But seriously, I've never really heard of an indie MMO, I might need to check this out later.

I'd like to hype this to some friends but I feel like that tutorial fails to show the purpose of the game. Like he mentions something about defending. Yeah I need a video of that.
Anyone know a good video that "sells" this game? With a title like Love it's kind of hard to search for.

I don't think I have the brains or patience to enjoy this pretty sandbox. Minecraft is more my speed.

I certainly wish love the best., I found the game to be quite frankly, graphically stunning.
And after having purchased several copies of minecraft which seems to have had a similar history to love. That being they were both started by a one man band. I simply couldn't find myself able to get into love because I have long since given up pay-to-play games.
Again I say everything about it looks shamelessly awesome but I have gotten to the point where if I can't outright buy a game ..... I'm not really interested.

That graphic filter needs to go. It's way too busy.
