A rather fitting explanation for a simple but cool name.

Ironically Atlus made the Trauma Center games before Bioware could get to it.

...why would it be ironic? It's not like they were to completely focus on medical-related software. It would've been a nice tip-of-the-hat to the company name, though.

What an interesting Origin story. The name works, as they're continually referred to as The Dr's anyway

But the greek word bios from which bio- is typically derived doesn't mean human

@Dumac True, it means life. But what other species of life is able to play their software...unless there's some super secret intellgent monkey experiment going on in a lab deep inside area 51 lol

They finished their Origins story without dying and have unlocked the "Bloodied" Achievement/Trophy.

@Gaddes

Same here. I thought this was well known now and the fact it's appearing again just as DA2 is due for release (and includes PR link at the bottom) makes me think some money changed hands here.

Developing a super-soldier serum. Knowing BioWare, it would've worked, and it would have been awesome....but not as awesome as their games.

They made the right decision.

On a side note I finally got around to mass effect 2. It's easily the most overrated game of all time. Wooden acting, wooden shooting mechanics, convoluted story that crams in too many characters in too little time, boring weapons, boring character design that we've all seen a million times before and an unbelievably nerdy atmosphere.

If you are on the fence about it and hate star trek and every other Sci-Fi soap opera then stay far far away.

I once mentioned to a friend of a friend who worked at Bioware that my parents knew the parents of one of Bioware's ownerrs. When he asked which one, I told him it was Yip, and his reply was "Oh, the guy who never comes out of his office." I got the impression that he's an owner in name only.

Doctors who play video games. Awesome. In 18 months time hopefully I'll be in that rank (a doctor who plays video games, not a game developer, unless the whole doctor thing goes completely wrong).
