Currently reading LOTR for the umpteenth time, so naturally my attachment to the story is at its annual high point, but I am really REALLY disappointed in this title so far. I would give anything for a deep, involved RPG (that wasn't an MMO). I don't know why it's so hard.

Isn't the Human a Wizard?

@TheRedComet

Nope, the elf is. The human is a rogue type who's almost a dead ringer for Vito.

@TheRedComet you were correct the wizard WAS a human male. I passed my spot check with a natural 20! Hinkle failed his roll!

@The Wicker Man No. The game has one Human, one Elf, and one Dwarf protagonist in the party.

The Dwarf is ... a Dwarf.
The Human is a Dúnadan Ranger.
The Elf isn't a wizard at al. A Tolkien 'Wizard' is of the Ainur, comparable to a race of Judæo-Christian-Islamic Angels or Norse Æsir. He's but an Elf/Half-Elf.

Can't Wait reading it sounds a bit like baldurs gate and champions of Norrath which they both made. Can't wait.

damn. i wish they would make a better LOTR game. much more of a hardcore game. maybe a movie remake. that would be awesome. and the characters from the movie would have been the best thing.

Do they have a trailer that involves MORE slashing sounds and orc heads flying around? I don't think they put enough in this trailer.

Not to be that guy (which means i'm totally being that guy), but when Gandalf mentioned "if not for these people, the North would have been lost," he just meant the battle against the Easterlings at the Lonely Mountain which did occur during the events of Return of The King, but what he was *really* referring to was The Hobbit, by meaning that if they had never killed Smaug and re-established the Dwarf realm under the mountain, then both no-one would have been around to stop the Easterlings, and Smaug himself could've destroyed everything in Sauron's name later on

We really liked Return of the King on Xbox, even though the gameplay was a bit shallow. Another good local co-op game in that universe would be quite welcome, especially if we can hear the awsome film score in HD audio on the PS3 version.

Also really enjoyed the ROTK game. I was surprised EA didn't keep making more games in that style
