GLaDOS puts robots to the test in first Portal 2 commercial

It was just this morning that we were reporting on Valve's plans to handle all of Portal 2's advertising in-house, and now here we are, watching the first TV commercial for the game. It stars Atlas and P-body, the robotic co-op characters, who quickly learn how seriously GLaDOS wants to play.

I feel like a lot of the sneak peaks at this game have been of the co-op portion. I realize this is probably to avoid spoilers, but I'd really like to see more of the single player campaign.

@CaramelZappa I'd hate to sound prude but I totally agree. Especially since it's being given its own full-on retail release.

So excited. I love having a game coming out you know is loaded with suprises that Valve hasn't even mentioned yet.

@SiN13 Yeah, they've got us so in the blue about this one. They've just shown blips of what's in there, but how it all can be utilized opens endless possibilities.

Really most excited about the dialogue and story, though.

I'm sure that trick at the 0:13 is the first thing everyone wants to try.

Certainly was on the top of my list on the first game.

Good ad. Robots being cute should be very appealing to a mass audience.

Hmm. Maybe I should preorder. I wonder what kind of demand tehre will be on the first day.

The ad is fine. It shows the viewer the main element of the game without overwhelming details.

E10? Honestly, I support the rating (the original should have been E10 too) if it means that the ESRB just became a little more lenient in the last four years and this isn't due to a drop in that delicious dark humour.

After all, one could very well say that what Pixar is to animation, Valve is to FPSes.

Or video games altogether, really.

Marvelous. Effectively introduces the idea of portals to the unfamiliar in mere seconds and in a fun and endearing way.

I'd love to see what Valve would concoct in a 2 hour feature film...
