I laugh at the fact that the "minimum" video card is a 4-year old card, while the recommended is a fairly recent one.

Like they expect it at ALL to run on that minimum card.

@Prboi Don't really have to read the reviews. Played the game and highly disappointed with the story and the new magic system.

Think of it this way: Joystiq, who honored Fable 2 with their GOTY in 2008, were slightly disappointed with with Fable 3. I haven't played Fable 3 myself, but I've played Fable 2, and what a stride-backward in enjoyment it must feel going from 2 to 3. My point is: People should trust Joystiq's review, they take the franchise seriously.

You know I always say I'd much rather prefer the games quality over it's graphics. But PC gamers don't seem to care & they just want top notch everything. Maybe that's why they feel "cheated" all of the time.

i personally don't feel cheated about any particular release on the pc. I have deeply enjoyed them despite their "shortcomings". I enjoyed Dragon Age II, and having fun with Crysis 2.

My problem is that there aren't any games that challenge high end PC's these days which eliminates the justification behind buying those high end video cards. I Mean its a good thing that these games are accessible to the mid->low end user but the guys who invested for that quality experience just isn't getting what they paid for. Crysis was supposed to be that game but it isnt anymore.

I Mean Nvidia just put out the GTX 500 series video card that can cost up to a whopping $800 for one alone and yet there's currently nothing in the market that challenge that card much less a 400 series card.

@vask If anyone feels cheated then they're an idiot. Not having software that pushes your hardware for some time comes with the territory of being an early adopter.

I love it when console gamers try and "analyze" PC gamers. Oddly enough, they always come up with silly conclusions like "they're shallow", "they only care about good graphics", "they're elitist", etc.

Here's a tip: If you're making baseless assumptions about a console you don't own, you're an ignorant who shouldn't be talking. I could sit here and explain exactly why your logic is piss poor, but chances are if you've managed to be this ignorant for this long you wouldn't even bother to read what I'd have to say anyway.

Obviously your not playing in 3D. 3D pushes the envelope with your graphics cards. 3D is also mind blowing in Crysis 2 and Metro 2033 in 3D is awesomeness. I just got my 3D setup and all I can say is wow. Also the games play way better on a PC with 120 hz monitors and 120 fps compared to a consoles barely 30 fps. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a Hyundai.

@Faceless Troll
true, but if the 600 series is right around the corner then i wouldn't exactly call the 500 series card owners early adopters. A lot of the games that came out only recommend a 200 series and above so not even the 400 series is even necessary and those cards are almost 2 years old as well. There also goes to say with SLI setups as well which are pointless to have with current gen gaming from what i can see.

@Imaxxgold

I own a 120hz ACER monitor the 120hz is awesome i do admit but the same could be said with a 120hz tv with console games. Its Quick and smooth i honestly don't think Ive had an experience like it until i got mine. I do play in 3d every once and awhile and barely got lag with games in 3d as i was using a dual SLI 470 setup, i don't use it regularly since the games i play aren't fully optimized for the 3d vision others just irritate my eyes over time so i keep it off in most cases. But 3d isn't really much of a graphical enhancement to the game but more like a add on effect for the game which i don't feel justifies all the power that is contained in a single card.

Just with these lower requirements it makes me wonder why bother keeping up with higher end cards that are released literally every year when games haven't even pushed the lower ones yet

@vask Then maybe they should buy systems according to their actual needs and not just for the sake of having the most powerful hardware out there? I've got a Radeon HD 5570 in my machine and it's perfectly capable of running most games maxed out.

i was about to complain about the ATi 5770 being a pretty lofty recommended requirement but then i realized the 6000 series has already been out for a while. damn my 4870s are starting to feel really old...

The 4870 is basically slightly better then a 5770.

The 4870 has more "oomf" factor, but the 5770 is better optomised.

The 500 series has been out for awhile now with the 600 series coming out the end of this year. A single 580 does not out perform metro 2033. Metro 2033 destroys current single cards.

I played all three fable games. First was the best. The 2 sucked and 3 tired to be between the first and second's system.

I got the Witcher on Steam last week. That game is the fable 2 I wanted. So much better than 2 or 3.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is

Usually when a game requires other software, the system requirements mention them. I see it on Steam for GFWL games all the time. It comes out in barely a month, it'd be a good time to tell us along with those hardware requirements.

I loved Fable II but really, really didn't enjoy 3. It wasn't the gameplay, it was the subpar plot, characters and ending. In "streamlining" the interface/gameplay they forgot all about the reasons I actually cared about Fable 2

You think I would enjoy the first one?

What is it that I'm missing in the comparison shots for Crysis 2? The 360 version looks almost identical to the PC version. The only differences I noticed were things I expected, like DX 10 water vs. DX 9 water and the 360 having lower res textures.

A pc with a GTX 500 series card and an i5 or better should be worlds better than a 360. We should be seeing things like huge numbers of individual physics objects, massive textures, gazillion-poly count models, DX 11 hardware tesselation, nice, multi-sample FSAA, etc.

I just don't understand why, if the game is going to look pretty much the same on console ($300) or pc ($700), anyone would continue to hang onto pc as a gaming platform.
