Disgaea 4 coming in September, dood

This fall, you can look forward to massive level numbers and dead souls turned into explosive penguins. That's right, Disgaea's coming back. NIS America announced that it's strategically launching Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten on PS3 this September. It's coming to Europe, too, with a less clearly-defined "fall" release window.

In addition to localizing the netherworld strategy game itself, NIS is also importing the naming contest used to market the Japanese release of the game. The "Come up with Dis-name-a" contest seeks new names for a sword, a skill and "a scantily-clad NPC." To see the objects in need of names, and hopefully to find inspiration, check them out here.

Greetings dood!

Disgaea 4 is quickly approaching! We're happy to announce that the release for the U.S. version of Disgaea 4 will be September, 2011! Europe can expect a fall release for the PAL version of Disgaea 4!

On top of that we are starting our Come up with a "Dis-name-a" Contest where Disgaea fans can submit their entries for a chance at naming an in-game weapon, a special skill, and an actual game character! We would absolutely love it if you would promote this contest on your media outlet!

But i haven't even gotten to Disgaea 3 yet! Damn back catalog! How am I supposed to get through it with Team Fortress 2 remaining so much fun?

Neat that they're doing the name contest outside of Japan too. NIS is such an awesome company.

I enjoyed 1 and 2 more when they were brought to the PSP. Just seems better for the SRPG genre.

I love the art style but have never really played one.

This is my #1 most looked forward to game for this year. I cannot wait to wear my prinny t-shirts and play this game 24-7

I'm gonna email them to find out where all the apparel went cause I want my Prinny State University sweat shirt to go with my Prinny State University binder. They also have prinny plushies and some artwork (really effin expensive artwork).

Breakin' my wallet even more this fall. Been trying to budget my game spending since I lost my job and became one of those broke college student types..but this doesn't help.

I always wanted to play a Disgaea game but i always worry what if i don't like it then it's a wait of time for me ... it does sound like a good game but .. i dunno ... i just wish their was a Demo for the Series. that i can sink my teeth into.

I bought a used copy of D3 on a whim. Played maybe 20 hours... didn't really like it. Other than the cute characters (Prinny's are funny as hell) it didn't have much to keep me entertained. The story spends endless hours going utterly nowhere while only making sense half the time. The tactics and RPG elements are deep... but entirely unnecessary to learn (not that the game/manual even bothers to explain things most of the time) once you figure out your best combos. After that it was just level after endless level of the same thing, like a bad MMO grind.

I played pirated Disgaea 1 and 2 on my friends PS2 and they were good but it wasn't until I bought them for the PSP that I really threw myself into them.

It's a lot more dynamic than most other SRPG games. Not like FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre that has a fixed path to victory and you deviate from it then you face losing. I remember in the first game I just played around with throwing my team and enemies about. Much fun.

The story is cack and silly. It's not Square quality but they do have a lot of fun with it.

The music is also great.

I haven't played part 3, but I've owned it for a while. I just don't seem to get into strategy games like this unless they're on the PSP.

(That said, if they ever port 3 and 4 to the PSP or NGP or 3DS, I'll certainly end up buying and playing them).

It's a Nippon Ichi game... it most likely will be a loli chick. Love their games, but they love the flatties.

But I'm excited for it, even though I haven't played 3 much.

I'd love to see this series come to the 360. I don't have a ps3 (Can't afford both) but I loved the first two on the ps2.

Typical comment, but Day One for me. Really can't say anything else. I'm a diehard fan and I'm start to feel shakes from not playing this series for about 6 months.

Will get this, hopefully it'll have a Limited Edition with an artbook (the last NISA releases did).

In Japan it was released with a little figurine, some cards, and a Flonne DLC. I just want the Flonne DLC, but if they released a similar super limited edition here, I'd definitely buy it.
