Wow, that's nice, I hope Sony does that(or at least something) to their customers as well.

I'm pissed that you need a PSN ID to log in to Netflix in the first place. My parents just got Netflix, but they never registered for a PSN account (they never needed it), so they have to wait until the PSN is back up in order to stream.

I tried entering my PSN information, but it seems you have to had logged in at least once before the outage.

@mywhitenoise I think there's a way to bypass it(Like logging in 3 times and it will ignore the fact that you aren't logged in at PSN), but I don't know, since we don't have Netflix in Norway :S

yeah that works, but only if you've logged into the PS3 before the outage. I bought my parents a PS3 for christmas, and they never registered for a PSN account, so they can't make one now...and my login information wont work either.

Nice of Hulu to do. Use the credit then use Hulu plus on my 360 on the 29th.

Wow, that sounds pretty considerate of them since it's not their fault that this occurred, or even their responsibility to compensate users.

Though I've never used them, it definitely improves their credibility in my eyes.

Nice to see a third party offering their plan on crediting back the consumer faster than PSN (Playstaton Plus members) and SOE (DC Universe Online members).

Helps continue to drive the point home of poor overall customer service by Sony.

Kind of hard to offer an Olive Branch while the orchard is still burning.
Have to wait and see when the system is back up for a Sony "Please love us again" package.

@Syesta

And while that is a good argument we must also understand that SCEA or any of their other groups are broke out into departments.

They might have the entire peace offering regarding credit, but they should have something out there showing they are looking at what to do once service is restored.

It's not like the entire building is just standing around the folks trying to restore the system and not working at addressing their own departmental issues tied to this situation.

While I don't recall any direct pieces to link to, isn't it pretty well understood that Sony doesn't communicate well with its different groups and departments? If that is the case we shouldn't be too shocked that they have problems communicating with their customers as well.

That was nice of them. Should probably sign up for Hulu+ sometime. While many (very many) are quick to get a rise out of the PSN crisis, I'm fine playing the waiting game (and the Mortal Kombat challenge ladder).

I got this email today and clicked. I think they are just crediting $2.00 to your account. So I assume my next bill will be less.

All I know for sure is I'm glad Xbox gets Hulu Plus on Friday, because I'm (im)patiently waiting to watch new episodes of a few shows right now.

@syesta
I see what your saying, but Sony needs to flat out say "Once this is resolved we WILL be offering something for effected customers." Not this we're looking into and considering something. They need to flat out say we ARE doing something.

Frankly their customer service during this whole thing has been a complete and total fluster cluck of epic proportions and I will be removinn my debit/credit card info from their system the second I can do so. Any future purchases will be made via prepaid cards.

It was nice that they beat Sony to offering some form of compensation. I've been a Hulu plus member for only a few weeks and I'm already really impressed with their customer services.
