Resistance 3 demo to be included with Battle: LA Blu-ray

Remember when a billboard on the set of Battle: Los Angeles spilled the beans about Resistance 3 long before it was officially announced? It seems the film's creators have found a way to make up for the leak -- according to G4, the Blu-ray edition of the film will include a 30-minute demo from Insomniac's upcoming shooter; the same riverboat sequence we previewed back in March.

We think the Blu-ray, which is due out June 14, is kind of a killer combo. You start by watching a big blockbuster about a military struggle against invading extraterrestrial aggressors, and then you actively play a big blockbuster about a military struggle against invading extraterrestrial aggressors. It's like peanut butter and ... more peanut butter.

I never understand the concept of aliens landing to take over Earth.

You travel countless lightyears to get here, you use some pretty advanced weapons, but you then get outwitted by advanced monkeys with pellet guns living in LA.

Just start a bombing run from space. DUH!

i always wondered why they would come to this shitty planet in the first place. you'd think once they intercepted transmissions of the hit reality tv show jersey shore they would just say meh and unanimously decide that it's not even worth their time, leaving us to slowly die out from our own 'tardedness.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense. The only reason to do an orbital bombardment would be to wipe us out as a competitor. But a more likely invasion would be motivated by resources, like in this movie (they want our water). And you don't scorch the earth when you want to claim it as your own.

And advanced tech can only do so much. The flip side is that you must take a VERY small force and move them HUGE distances. Plenty of invasions in our history failed due to stretched supply lines. Now multiply that by interstellar distances.

Other than nomadic, hive-type adversaries (where the fleet is essentially the whole population), I think the best, most realistic alien invasion scenarios depict it as a move of ultimate desperation. The logistics are a nightmare, and even the very air could kill you.

in the movie it explains that they need our water supply, since ours is in a liquid state.

I had a lot of desire to see this movie then I finally saw it... It's really bad. :(

I'm not that picky if aliens and machine guns are involved but this film was baaaaad. The sappy "pulling at your heart" music that drags on the whole movie was especially lame.

Best worst line in the movie "We already ate breakfast." (sappy dramatic music swells in).

it's weird, peanut butter works with chocolate and jelly separately but all together and it's just bad news all around.

Its a good thing its coming on that disc or no one would be getting it.

If the demo isn't available on psn, I'm afraid to admit that I may have to go rent that movie to play the demo. Movie was okay to say the least.

Didn't have much interest in the movie or the demo, but the double peanut butter has me curious now.
